Grey and B_Don are back in the saddle and going over rankings at second base for 2026 fantasy baseball. After Jazz Chisholm Jr. sits atop the list (already covered in the Top 20), we hit Tier 2 and immediately start asking questions about where all the great second basemen went. This episode runs through the […]

One super quick word about the top 20 2nd basemen for 2026 fantasy baseball and all the 2026 fantasy baseball rankings, each ranking appears insanely long and it is, but I imagine in a lot of leagues guys won’t have eligibility, because I’m using the extremely lax Yahoo position eligibility (five games started). Without further […]

Another week is in the books, meaning I welcome you back for another installment of the 2026 Dynasty Rankings. After two weeks of looking at huge chunks of players, we finally get down to the smaller groupings of 25 players each week.

There are a few players in the below rankings that could be much better than where they are currently ranked. If I am building a team from scratch and doing these rankings, I’d bump them up. But not everyone is building from scratch – they are trying to fill holes and thus care more about the present than the upside some players may have. So my balancing act means the players landed in this group.

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Top 50 Dynasty Second Basemen for 2026 rankings.

Looking at this position overall, it is weak. Second basemen this season slashed .243/.310/.378 with a wRC+ of 92. The SLG, OPS and wRC+ ranked last among all positions. I guess the good news is that as far as average and OBP second basemen ranked fourth and fifth out of the eight positions.

Additionally, many of players in this group aren’t even fulltime second baseman. Many can play third or short or somewhere in the outfield, and those may actually be their primary positions.

Once you get past the top 15 or so players, it is crapshoot as to who to target. If you are rebuilding, just go young – for players like Kristian Campbell, Christian Moore or Kyren Paris. If you are wanting to win now and need someone who will likely play a lot of games, go for a veteran like Marcus Semien, Mauricio Dubon (who can play nearly anywhere) or a Jeff McNeil.

The last time I put out a rankings list was nearly 2 months ago as we were coming out of the All-Star Break. At that time, I was still hesitant to fully buy in when it came to players who have had unexpectedly good or bad seasons. Well, we’re running out of games to play, so maybe it’s time I come around on some players. As a result, you’ll see some fairly significant movement up and down this week’s ranks.

In reality, it’s probably a little too early to start looking seriously toward next season, but that’s what fantasy degenerates do. On the serious side, thinking through where players are likely to be picked this coming year compared with where they were picked this last year is an extremely valuable exercise in terms of finding potential value to profit from next year. If we can predict an approximate ADP for certain players, we can already determine if those players are going to be interesting to us based on cost. Fantasy leagues are won through the simple act of getting more value for a pick than the ADP would suggest.

Anyone who has watched Mookie Betts this year can see something is very wrong. Blame this year’s struggles on his preseason virus-related weight loss if you will, but that weight loss and weakness don’t explain away last year’s big dip in performance. Something is different, and it’s bad.
