The world’s hottest team, the Pittsburgh Pirates, line everyone up with a bat and give them orders. “We have to be aggressive! We need to move forward on the bases just like in real life! Practice it with me now! Move forward!” And they all went off a plank. Rarely do I like to do […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Reds OF Rece Hinds has splurted out of the big league gate like catsup that’s been sitting upside down on a warm summer’s day or a chocolate bar in the hands of a toddler on that same summer day. They’re having a picnic, maybe, and listening to the Cincinnati Reds game because this is the 1970’s in middle America we’re talking about now through the power of sentences. In that era, a guy like Rece Hinds might hang around on the strength of 30 home run thump with the sort of off-the-bus skills that played well in those days, but which I mean he looks good getting off the bus, or sitting on the plane, or taking batting practice on the field. It’s hard to predict how free swingers will react to advanced scouting, but everything we’ve seen so far suggests pitchers will figure out they don’t have to throw strikes against Hinds, and that’ll put the squeeze back in the bottle real quick, as the kids say. Hinds struck out 38.4 percent of the time in 77 Triple-A games this year in part because he can’t catch up to the high cheese, and he can’t lay off the sauce down and out. Ingest at your own risk.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Well hello everyone, back after a two week hiatus. No, I wasn’t holding out for a higher salary. Nope, didn’t visit my Sherpa to tell me what to do for my struggling TGFBI squad (he would have said, remember you have it and make moves). I was in Colorado with the family and told them […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?We are back for another week of trying to piece a winning Wednesday lineup together. Today, we are putting most of our eggs into the anti-Patrick Corbin basket. I have no idea why the Nationals continue to trot Corbin out there, but with his 5.49 ERA facing a scorching hot Mets lineup, we’re here to […]

Please, blog, may I have some more?We only had two trades this week in week 15 and that got me wondering how long teams had to improve their teams. If I’m wondering, probably other people are too. The answer is August 7th, we have about a month left to make any trades, buy or sell those saves, and aim for a […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Good DFS lineups are a combination of floor and upside. A good pitcher, for example, can usually give you a nice floor score whether they get hit around or not because they also get strikeouts or nearly always pitch deep into games. A good team stack will give a high floor, but an individual player […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_Don talk about the All-Star Game Rosters and some players we think should have been included along with our thoughts on improving the festivities. We also hand out some awards for fantasy to this point in the season. After we get through that, we move on […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? You will struggle to find decent hitting offenses to avoid. I’m saying if you stop streaming against ‘good hitting teams,’ you will struggle to find them. Where are they, you might ask. They’re not in or around the lineup that is managed by Bud Black. His best hitter — easily! — Brenton Doyle is hitting […]
