We’ve officially passed the halfway point of the baseball season. Whether you want to count games, celebrate the 4th of July, or use the All-Star Game as your barometer, the midpoint is here. It would be easy to assume that performances so far will be clear predictors of what’s to come but wise managers know better. There’s still plenty of work to do. While the rest of the country is arguing over ketchup vs. mustard, we’re focused on something far more important: figuring out whether that guy hitting .420 over the last two weeks is legit or just riding a heater. In this week’s hitter profiles, we’re diving into some names who are widely available in leagues and have been swinging hot bats lately. It’s time to break down what’s fueling these surges and, with all the overreaction we can muster, decide who’s worth buying and who’s better left on waivers. It’s been a while, but it’s time for another round of Buy or Sell in our hitter profiles.

I hate to toot my own horn, but I crushed last week’s article. Grant Holmes, Edward Cabrera and Eric Lauer all threw gems, while the hitters were nothing to complain about. What’s truly remarkable is that this is the final week before the All-Star break. It feels like the season just started two months ago, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Rosters have been set for Major League Baseball’s Futures Game. First pitch is scheduled for Saturday at 4pm EST. Earlier in the day, tastemakers gather around the batting cage to marvel at the prowess of these youngsters, which seems to generate more helium in the prospect-sphere than the game itself. Makes sense to me. It’s a seven-inning exhibition, and while it’s fun, it’s hard to take too much away from that, although if you reacted to Drake Baldwin’s easy opposite field home run in last year’s game, you played it right.

A few names jump out to me as having a chance to enhance their name value with a nice batting practice session: Pirates OF Esmerlyn Valdez, Pirates SS Konnor Griffin, Phillies C Eduardo Tait, and Athletics 3B Tommy White. None of these guys are going to sneak up on the people there to see them, but they’re all going to be extremely impressive alongside the game’s best prospects. Griffin is the number one prospect in the minors right now. By no means am I unique in this belief, but it’s going to be the consensus soon, and it might happen next weekend.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Howdy out there Razzballers! I hope that all of you American readers have been diligent in keeping your fingies, toesies, and skull parts all attached to your bodies. Fireworks scare the bejesus out of me. I can’t help it; I grew up in a medium-sized city with insurance agencies employing the vast majority of residents. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Fourth of July weekend, everyone, and welcome back to another Up-and-Coming Dynasty Player installment.
This week I head West and turn my attention to a player who can supply his own fireworks in Hunter Goodman of the Colorado Rockies. If you haven’t been paying attention to the Rockies, and really, who is considering how bad they are this season, then you are probably don’t really know how good Goodman has been this year.
So let me summarize for you his 2025 campaign entering Friday’s game. This is where he ranks vs. follow catchers this season:
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy 4th to my American brethren and sistetheren (totally a word)! And what better way to rally the family than with a pocket full of fireworks, hot dogs…and peach emojis? If only there were something that could capture all that is the fantastical and fiery fervor of Cal Raleigh. Is there a series of tiny […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I made a huge mistake this season. Spencer Schwellenbach was one of my favorite SP targets throughout the year and I was scooping him up around his ADP where I could. The Braves magically formed another ace named Spencer out of thin air and I was not missing the boat this time. Sadly–in one of […]

Please, blog, may I have some more?I don’t want to open this week up on a negative note, but I have to say that I think this is the first time in years I’ve actually kind of been looking forward to the All Star Break. I’ve overextended myself in terms of how many teams I have this year (no surprise to […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The singular of fireworks is firework, but sounds weird. A professional wrestler who pretends to be a fireman for his character. That’s a firework. Speaking of firemen, Happy 4th of July or as firemen call it, “Why did you put a Roman Candle in your butt and aim it at your house? Dumb move, especially […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The similarities between Ernie Clement of the Toronto Blue Jays and Hall of Famer Robert Clemente are striking. Both are listed at 5′ 11″ and weigh in the 170-pound range. Both were right-handed batters. Both didn’t exhibit robust power early on, but have never had a strikeout rate close to 20%. Both….Ok, I’ll stop now. To […]
