So, Adolis Garcia hit the IL with a right knee patellar tendon strain, because the haters won this round! It’s okay the haters lost the round where they drafted Sandy Alcantara in the 2nd round. Though, they won the round where they drafted Acuña, that was a pretty big round. Ya know what? We’re not going to keep score for the Haters vs. Me. I might win some, I just lost Adolis. Sucks. I will cry now for five minutes, please excuse me. *claps hands with wet eyes and snot flying out nose* I’m back, snitches! And up is Evan Carter. Is that Jay Z’s brother, you might be asking. It is, and he’s here for The Blueprint 4. It’s a Hard Knock Life, Vol. 3. Hey, real question: Why does Jay Z label everything with a stupid sequel number? Yo, HOVA, just come up with a new name.

Somewhere in the mountains of Colorado, you trek through the snow and notice four paw prints. It’s a wolf’s tracks, fresh in the powder. You follow, one foot after the next, as if pulled by an invisible wire, a waking dream that could tip into nightmare at any moment. The night sky billows above you, as the tracks tighten up. The wolf is slowing.
As you reach the summit, the tracks merge. They are the tracks of a man. Your pulse quickens, your shallow breathing pauses as the altitude fights a battle against your common sense. You push forward.
The summit reached, you see him. Bud Black. He stands resolutely, a lumpen totem pole stoic in the face of the savage solitude of his surroundings.
“You’re here to kill me?” he says in a knowing voice without turning. You say nothing.
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? He is risen. Jordan Walker has finally come to be. Loved him tons in the preseason (as did the whole Razzball crew) and these past two weeks have been heaven. Power was always one of his calling cards and oh boy has it been on full display. Beyond that light tower power is the ability to hit for a strong batting average. League average has fallen to .250 so he’s already way above that at the .274 he’s rocking this season. Just like his power numbers should spike I think that he can boost his batting average up into the .280 or .290 range. Heck he could even challenge .300 and if that happens… Oh boy, the sky is the limit for him.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer have launched a pod, Cards & Categories, to discuss baseball from card collecting and fantasy angles! In our ninth episode, we open with discussion on Shohei Ohtani’s stand-in double at the Angels picture day, David Fry outpitching Lucas Giolito, and the hot playoff races. For the kick-off of the NFL season, we review a list […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? Was listening to Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere (Remastered) when I saw the news that Jordan Lawlar was being promoted, and the wind chimes playing in the background were perfectly timed as I spun out, arms outstretched, seeing stars because my equilibrium isn’t that good. Then Little Lies by Fleetwood Mac starting playing and all I heard was, “Tell me lies, tell me lies, tell me sweet little young player guys,” and now I don’t know what the Mac is trying to tell me. Do not confuse me, Mac!
Please, blog, may I have some more? The September prospect parade is upon us, and it really does feel like a parade in the sense that our only possible moves are to rubberneck what’s coming and scramble for position or just stand still and let it pass. Both strategies have merit. Not for parades. Just stand still, please. Encourage your children to do the same. Holy cow the things you learn as an early parent. So many kids cross the streets between floats. Gore-drenched streets are avoided by last second blind braking or a stranger’s lizard-brain instinct to scoop a child out of a tire’s path. It’s tough to blame the kids. Candy covers the streets. Gotta grab what you can while you can in this world. Or so goes the teaching most of us get from a million portals all around us.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I bought a new house about a year ago. It was a fixer and needed tons of work. We hired a guy to do the big stuff while the wifey and I DIY’d/Mickey Mouse’d the rest. While we became proficient after many reps, yelling and sweating, the difference in skill between us and the hired gun was Grand Canyon-esque. As it should be. Now, my wife’s dad worked in construction for decades, and he flew out to lend a hand. I took some video of his skill:
A true professional he is. And vastly underrated. As is Kerry Carpenter of the Detroit Tigers. If you need power, this Carpenter can help you build upon the foundation that you’ve manufactured up to date.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Wednesday, Razzball friends! I hope the first part of your week has gone great and you’re ready for another exciting (or kind of decent) reading session of SAGNOF with Marmossdad! Ok. I guess I can can (stuttery) the double S (esses?). Being a bit of an English teacher certainly has its benefits and drawbacks, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Jasson Dominguez has started his Major League career with a bang, smacking two homers and a double over his first four games. His one issue has been his strikeouts, but I like his chances to make contact against Matt Manning, who has struck out just 11% of the left-handed bats he’s faced this season. Batting […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I’ll get to Jose Altuve, but, damn, the Astros were like, “Oh, yeah, Rangers, you’re going to challenge us for the division? That’s what you’re going to do?” Mean’s while, Mariners are like, “Hey, what about us?” Okay, now the lede: Jose Altuve did what? Three homers in three innings? Finishing with: 3-for-5, and his 13th, 14th, and 15th homer, which he hit in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd inning. Mark Whiten must’ve been sweating! I know this is about fantasy, but he’s a first ballot Hall of Famer. I’m not a denier of the Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang Scandal. I am not an ostrich. But cmon. Has he been cheating every year of his career? Fine, wanna dock him one year for cheating? Do whatever you want, but he’s a Hall of Famer. I’m not just saying this because we’re the same height. Fine! It is that reason! Us Short Kings get one guy every 20 years, let us have Altuve! Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?September is here, and Labor Day has past. What does this mean for people like me living in Eastern NC? Hurricane season. I moved here in 1999 which if you pay attention to such things, and you probably don’t unless you are on a coast (no reason to pay attention to hurricanes in Nebraska) I […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I hope everyone had a relaxing Labor Day weekend celebrating you, the worker. The faithful cog in the machine of capitalism all get one day to honor them and all they do to keep the US of A chugging along. Mostly, it’s a weekend for fantasy football drafts, amiright? I know my home league uses […]
