If your eyes weren’t burned away from the eclipse, it’s great to have you back and reading the write up. We have a full slate tonight with no bona fide ace on the mound but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some solid match-ups to pick from. The biggest one that stands out is Lance Lynn ($14,800), he is being priced as a middle of the road started despite the fact that he has 2 ER or fewer in his last 9 starts. Tonight should be no different as the San Diego Padres come to St. Louis, Lynn’s home ERA is currently 2.62. The Padres are no secret to DFS when it comes to streaming pitchers but Lynn is priced really low and the Padres offer a great strike out potential. They currently rank 3rd in the MLB in Strikeouts and are dead last in runs scored.  Lynn should be able to have his way with this line-up and also have a great chance to win the game as Cardinals are significant favorites.

Patrick Corbin, P: $18,000 – Fantastic match-up against the struggling NY Mets, who have been one of the worst hitting teams over the last week (.226 AVG, .674 OPS). Corbin has been on a nice run as of late, has only allowed 3 runs in his last three starts (21 1/3 Innings) and has 25 Ks during that span.

Javier Baez, IF: $8,000 – Getting his chance to play everyday and making the most of it. Homer Bailey is taking the mound for the Reds tonight, he has allowed 18 runs in his last three starts. The Cubs should fill up the scoreboard and Baez will be in the middle of it all.

Nolan Arenado, IF: $9,600 – Batting over .400 against Lefties this year and has an OPS of 1.251, gets LHP Danny Duffy tonight. Duffy has been scuffling lately and having problems keeping the ball in the park, already allowing 4 HRs in his 3 starts in August.

Jose Abreu, IF: $9,200- The big man is constantly putting up great numbers and tonight he should continue he current tear (6 HRs over last week), great matchup against Kyle Gibson who has served up the long ball this season.

Scooter Gennett, IF: $7,600 – Scooter is mashing RHP this season, currently slugging .575 against them. With John Lackey coming to town with his 1.99 HR/9, Scooter could have a nice day.

Matt Joyce, OF: $8,000 – Swinging a hot bat over the last two weeks and showing off some pop ( .609 SLG). Gets Ubaldo Jimenez in Camden Yards, need I say more?

Max Kepler, OF: $7,800 – Gets to face Lucas Giolito making his season debut, we know of his struggles last season but he has been pitching better in the last month in AAA. Kepler has been able to handle RHP and should be able to get to the young prospect. Kepler is showing off the power stroke lately with 6 HRs in the last 15 games.

Kole Calhoun, OF: $6,900 – Squaring off versus Tyson Ross is a good way to find yourself in a DFS line up, he is a very cheap bat and also a hot one. Calhoun has hit 3 HRs over the last week and scoring a lot of runs for a team that all of a sudden is in a playoff run.

J.D. Martinez, OF: $9,300 – Tommy Milone is getting the start for the Mets, play all your DBacks!! Doesnt hurt that JD has been killing LHP (1.436 OPS), he should get a couple of cracks at Milone and the horrible Mets bullpen.

Only Happy When it Rains

We have a couple games with a threat of rain, the one that stands out is the Cleveland/Boston game. It has the biggest percentage of rain at first pitch and early on during the game. Seattle/Atlanta game also has a slight chance of rain but should be fine. As always check the weather closer to game time.

Doing Lines in Vegas

With Lance Lynn taking the bump against the Padres, the St. Louis Cardinals come in s the biggest favorite of the night at -210. The O/U in the Cubs/Reds game is listed at 10, any time Homer Bailey takes the mound you have to be looking at taking the Over. Another game with some runs expected to be plated is the Tigers/Yankees game, taking bats in that game would be a good idea.
