We rarely showcase one team so much in any given article, but we love the Giants this week. There are numerous reasons for that, and it should be interesting to see how this rebuilt team looks in such a favorable week. They actually have my second-favorite matchups of any team, with the Rangers looking like the best schedule on the board. It’s interesting to have such poor offenses as streamers, but that’s just how fantasy works sometimes. With that in mind, let’s dive into the favorable matchups for this week!

Pitching Streamers
Bryce Elder, ATL (vs. NYM)
Elder has been one of the most volatile pitchers for Atlanta, but he’s always an interesting option as one of our streamers in the right matchup. Let’s start there because a home matchup with Miami is one of the best in baseball right now. The Marlins rank 24th in xwOBA for the season, and 29th in runs scored over the last month. That’s a scary trend, especially since Elder has a 3.00 ERA and 1.10 WHIP at home this year. It’s also likely Elder will enter that matchup as a -200 favorite, because he has a 0.71 ERA and 0.71 WHIP in two home starts against Miami. That matchup paired with his recent form makes Elder an excellent option as one of our streamers this week, posting a 1.88 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across his last four starts.

Brandon Young, BAL (at MIN)
Young was disappointing in his start this week, but that’s an outlier in what’s developed into an outstanding season. This Baltimore righty has a 3.43 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP across 19 starts this year. That WHIP is nothing special, but Young’s floor has been. He’s allowed four runs or fewer in all 19 starts while providing a 3.12 ERA and 1.24 WHIP since the end of May. All of that makes him an easy option against a team like Minnesota, which is missing its best bat (Byron Buxton). The Twins rank 21st in runs scored and 25th in OPS over the last month while never seeing what this righty possesses.

Keider Montero, DET (vs. CLE)
Montero has truly been one of the most underrated players in baseball this season. There are always a few players who fly under the radar due to their strikeout stuff, and that’s just what’s happening to this guy. The peripherals speak for themselves because Montero has maintained a 3.38 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 19 starts this season. He’s developed into a Ranger Suarez-type arm while accruing a 2.72 ERA and 0.99 WHIP since the beginning of May. We could use him against almost anyone with statistics like those, but a home matchup with Cleveland is far from concerning. The Guardians rank 28th or 29th in runs scored, OPS, wOBA and xwOBA, with Montero allowing just two hits across five innings in their only matchup this season,

Brady Singer, CIN (vs. MIA)
Singer has been one of our streamers dozens of times over the last few years, and now’s the time to ride him since he’s hot. This Reds righty has a 3.45 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across his last 11 starts. That’s nearly two months of stellar pitching, but it’s no surprise since Singer had a 3.23 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 2022 and similar averages in 2024. You’d think he’d be worse in a park like Cincy, but that’s not the case either. Singer sports a 3.35 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 8.4 K/9 rate at home over the last three years. We also discussed how subpar Miami’s offense has been over recent weeks, with Singer surrendering two runs or fewer in three of their last four matchups.
Streamonator Valuation: $10.3
Landen Roupp, SF (vs. COL)
I typically don’t plant my flag like this, but Roupp is my favorite option of these streamers this week. There’s no doubt that he’s been inconsistent, but any guy who’s allowed two runs or fewer in 13 of 22 starts needs to be considered. Roupp has also registered a 3.68 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over the last month while recapturing some of the form we saw earlier in the year. That sort of ability is really attractive in a matchup like this. Not only is San Fran one of the most spacious parks, but the Rockies rank near the bottom of every road statistic over recent years. Roupp has a 3.44 ERA and 1.23 WHIP at home over the last two years while the Rockies rank 21st in K rate and 27th in wOBA. We also don’t mind Colorado’s never seen him pitch!
Streamonator Valuation: $37.7
Randy Dobnak, KC (at LAA)
This is a risky recommendation, but sometimes all of the stars align. This guy needed a good stretch to keep his career alive, and he’s found something in Kansas City. Dobnak has surrendered two runs or fewer in all six appearances (four starts) while providing a 1.16 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Some negative regression is inevitable, but we have to use this hot arm against a team like the Angels. Los Angeles ranks 25th in wOBA, 26th in xwOBA and 29th in K rate, while their only two good bats hit from the right side.

Hitting Streamers
Bryce Eldridge/Jung Hoo Lee, SF (vs. HOU, vs. COL)
Let’s ride a pair of San Fran sluggers as our streamers. We can’t quite call Lee a slugger, but his numbers since coming off the IL are stupendous. He’s got a .332 AVG and .861 OPS in 58 games since that reinstatement off the IL. Those are all you can ask for, especially since he has even better splits against right-handers. The Giants are projected to face five righties this week, which is also an advantage for Eldridge. He has a .365 OBP and .834 OPS since May 28, while hitting either first, second or third over recent weeks. Lee has actually been in the two-hole most, and both of these guys should thrive in these magical matchups. The Rockies rank last in ERA, WHIP and xwOBA while the Stros sit 22nd in WHIP, 25th in ERA and 24th in wOBA. There’s also no chance these guys are coming out of the lineup with Casey Schmitt, Matt Chapman and Luis Arraez all out of the picture.
Jake Burger, TEX (at LAA, at ATH)
Much like burgers in real life, this guy is pretty bad for you but can be delicious at times. What makes him such an intriguing option as one of our streamers is his power. This bopper has a .458 career SLG, .332 xwOBA and .214 ISO. Those are all pretty good averages, and we’re excited that Burger has some chances to eat this week. He plays for one of the only teams that has seven games, and they couldn’t be better matchups. A road series against the A’s is one of the best environments in baseball, with the A’s ranked 29th in wOBA and ERA while playing in the worst park in the sport. The Angels aren’t much better, sitting 24th in ERA, 25th in WHIP and 22nd in xwOBA. In 13 games against those teams, Burger is flirting with an .800 OPS against them!
SAGNOF (Saves/Steals Ain’t Got No Face)
Steals Specialists
Esetury Ruiz (MIA)
Ruiz is one of the active leaders with 104 career steals, and he’s showcased that speed recently. This speedster has 19 steals across his last 45 games, while recording 27 for the season.
Myles Straw (HOU)
Straw has always been a speed demon in Toronto, so it’s no surprise he’s doing the same thing since joining Houston. He has four steals across his last 14 fixtures while playing nearly every day.
Saves Specialists
Brandyn Garcia (ARI)
With Paul Sewald getting demoted out of the closer’s role, Garcia looks like the guy. He has a 2.03 ERA and 0.77 WHIP this season while picking up two saves over his last four appearances.
Yennier Cano (BAL)
Ryan Helsley is still expected to miss some time, and we saw Cano get the most recent save without him. He’s bounced back with a 2.04 ERA and 0.91 WHIP this year.
