Welcome to short slate Thursday. Today we’re treated to eight games. Fortunately, there are still plenty of strong options and good values. One such value play is  Ian Happ, OF: $2,400 – Don’t let the low batting average scare you away, he’s been unlucky so far. That means it’s only a matter of time until the hits start dropping. His price is low enough that you can afford to take a chance today is that day. The bot’s projections look good so don’t be scared.

Walker Buehler, SP: $9,800 – I’m normally a fan of looking for the cheaper play but Buehler is far and away the best pitching option on the day that you need to put him in your lineup and figure out the rest later. He doesn’t draw the easiest assignment but he’s talented enough to make it work.

Jeff Hoffman, SP: $6,900 – So you didn’t listen and now you need a pitcher on the cheap. The bot has him as one of the top options on the mound. You could do worse than a guy with a 2.93 ERA. Just don’t expect him to take you to the moon.

Taylor Widener, SP: $7,400 – Another of the lower priced options who can help you out. He comes in with impressive numbers aside from the strikeout department. Unfortunately, that does limit his upside but he is still very much a guy to consider.

Pete Alonso, C/1B: $3,400 – Albombso checks in as one of the top hitting options despite his slow start to the season. We all know how much damage he can do with just one swing of the bat. Don’t be too put off by his low average, it’s still early and he can catch fire at any time.

Joey Votto, C/1B: $3,000 – He’s been hitting the ball hard and that leads to good things. Don’t forget about him just because he’s not the flashy new kid on the block.

Ty France, 2B: $3,100 – I’m encouraged that he was able to pinch hit Tuesday after being hit and removed from the game Monday. He’s having a strong start to the season and has been a big part of the Mariners success.

Jeff McNeil, 2B: $2,500 – The bot likes him and I like him. Today looks like a good day for him to get it going at the plate.

Rafael Devers, 3B: $3,400 – Devers has managed to start strong with five bombs. He’s also chipping in runs and RBIs as well so the points are flowing.

J.D. Davis, 3B: $2,400 – He’s raking so ride that hot streak. At his price he lines up as one of the best value plays.

Francisco Lindor, SS: $3,100 – Hard to pass up the top rated shortstop at this price. His underlying numbers are strong despite the lackluster average so the breakout performance is coming.

Gleyber Torres, SS: $2,400 – Like the rest of the Yankees, Torres has started off slowly. His projections are strong today and for the price you can afford to take a chance.

Shohei Ohtani, OF: $4,000 – Talk about absolute fire. He has been absolutely crushing the ball at the plate. He carries a high price tag to match but at this point you can’t say he hasn’t earned it.

Alex Verdugo, OF: $3,400 – He’s come out strong this season. I like his matchup today and the bot agrees that he’s well worth a spot in your lineup.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Let’s take a look at the crystal ball and see what’s in store for the weather today. We’re looking at clouds and some double digit MPH winds but nothing too crazy.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Unfortunately, no 10s on the board today. The best we can do for fireworks are some 9s. That works.
