I write this every season during at least one DFS article, it’s a song as old as time, it’s attacking the Rockies on the road. Today we have Dustin May ($7,000) benefitting from the largest home/road OPS in the game. This season the Rockies have the third highest home OPS (.870) and are DFL on the road (.609). It’s incredible and it almost never fails. May isn’t a huge strikeout pitcher (7.1 K/9 this season) but he has done other things well, like keeping the ball in the yard and keeping his walks down. His K/9 last year was 8.3, so strikeouts aren’t out of the question. Either way, it’s a very safe pick, and is priced cheap enough to help win some GPPs.

Zac Gallen, SP: $10,000 – Did you know that in 20 career starts, Gallen is yet to give up more than 3 ER? Great, now that I’ve jinxed that, the Giants will surely knock him around for 7 ER in 1.2 IP. But I highly doubt it. We’ve got the Giants offense, which is “meh” at best and we’ve got the pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. I like Gallen to keep his streak alive, making him maybe the safest play of the night.
Justus Sheffield, SP: $7,500 – This pick is all Stream-o-nator, it LOVES Sheffield tonight, ranking him just below Dustin May. The Rangers do have the third lowest team OPS, so that could be it, that’s the reason I would pick him, but SON also loves him for strikeouts tonight. The Rangers aren’t a huge strikeout team, so we’ll see, but you’ve been warned.
Triston McKenzie, SP: $6,000 – This is a FOMO pick. Detroit is alright, nothing special and McKenzie is priced cheap, so why not roll the dice and hope the kid shines in his debut?
Mitch Moreland, C/1B: $3,800 – Mitchy 2-Bags gets a dose of Orioles pitching this weekend. Tonight, it’s righty Alex Cobb who Moreland already has two homers off of in 30 plate appearances.
Paul Goldschmidt, C/1B: $3,600 – Goldy and the Cards take a whack at Wade Miley tonight and who doesn’t love having hitters facing Miley?
Jonathan Schoop, 2B: $2,900 – If you aren’t starting McKenzie, I could see banking on some nerves and include a Tiger or two. Schoop is always in the meat of the order, so he’d be the first option I’d go with.
Jean Segura, 2B: $2,500 – Segura has been heating up and with Robbie Erlin (a recently DFA’d Robbie Erlin I might add) on the hill for the Braves, I like that to continue tonight.
Rafael Devers, 3B: $2,800 – Devers has been my auto-play in this space at this sub $3K price tag. Nothing changes today with Alex Cobb on the mound in Baltimore. Platoon advantage, hitter’s park and tons of talent currently being under-priced, sign me up!
Kyle Seager, 3B: $3,500 – I’m surprised how well Seager is hitting so far. I begrudgingly grabbed him a few season-long leagues where I forgot to draft a 3B and he’s been just dandy. That won’t stop tonight with Jordan Lyles and his 7.53 ERA / 6.41 FIP on the mound.
Tim Anderson, SS: $3,800 – I love this guy! Anderson is out here doing anything he can to score you fantasy points. Homers, steals, you name it, he’s doing it.
J.P. Crawford, SS: $2,900 – I mean, why not get all the Seattle lefties in there against Lyles!?
Max Kepler, OF: $3,500 – I was impressed with Singer early on, but the results haven’t been there lately. I think the Twins will hit him around a bit and Kepler will be right in the middle of all that.
Kyle Tucker, OF: $3,100 – Raise your hand if you dropped Kyle Tucker in season long leagues once Yordan Alvarez was activated. Oh…just me huh? Well, now I have to live through DFS with him, even if it’s in Petco Park, the kid can still get it done.
A.J. Pollock, OF: $2,900 – Our BvP play of the night, Pollock has only 23 plate appearances against Freeland, but has 2 dingers and a .400 batting average. Runner up for this was Freddie Freeman vs. Zack Wheeler who has 2 homers in 43 PAs with a .483 average. Pollock is more cost effective though.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
There is barely a cloud in the sky tonight, so no worries there!
Doing Lines In Vegas
Dustin May and the Dodgers are the biggest favorites tonight at -210, which makes me even more confident in starting May. Triston McKenzie is even getting some love (mostly thanks to Matthew Boyd) with the Indians as -176 favorites. The DET@CLE game also features the current high over/under at 10 runs. McKenzie is not without risk, obviously. HOU@SD (Bielak vs. Davies) is currently the lowest run total at 8.5.
