Well, Sunday wasn’t our best effort. Nailed our pitching picks, but I think our best hitter went 1 for 4, and our Yankees stack managed one hit. Back to the drawing board this evening with a lack of aces available to us. Nick Pivetta is the top option out there so we are going to have to find some good value on the board tonight and I look forward to getting back into the win column.
I’ll be bringing you my DFS picks for the main evening slate on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022. If you play on DraftKings, it is a 12-game slate starting at 6:05 Central time. This article will be primarily focused on the DraftKings slate, so if you play on Fanduel I encourage you to sign up for the DFS tools to help you make the best decisions for your lineups on FanDuel, DraftKings, and Yahoo.

Luis Garcia, SP: $9,500. Luis gets the Royals on Tuesday and I am plugging him in. Pivetta and Jeffrey Springs are facing strong winds blowing out in Boston, so even though I think it likely one of them potentially performs better I’ll take the safer option in Garcia. He went seven innings against the Royals early in June and allowed 2 ER over 7 strong innings, but only struck out 2 batters. Hoping for a repeat performance with a few more K’s.
Yusei Kikuchi, SP: $7,800. Which Yusei shows up tonight? Hopefully, he can limit the longball which has been his downfall. 22.2% HR/FB ratio and a 16.8% barrel rate are killing him. On the good side however is he gets the Athletics tonight who are 28th in MLB vs lefties in OPS at .629, and that’s enough for me to plug him in.
Gabriel Moreno, C: $2,800. The A’s are trotting out Adrian Martinez against the Blue Jays tonight and there will be a slight breeze blowing out to center. Martinez has a 6.30 ERA and 5.79 xFIP and will be making his third career start against the hottest hitting team in MLB. Good luck kid. – Note – it’s possible Zack Collins draws the start behind the plate tonight so keep an eye on lineups.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 1B: $5,200. Much for the same reasons as Moreno I am fading Martinez tonight in a big way. Vlad has hit safely in five straight and should continue that streak this evening in Oakland.
Trevor Story, 2B: $4,700. No one is more streaky than Trevor. Guess who went 2 for 4 yesterday and homered? Trevor. Jeffrey Springs gave up 3 gopher balls in his last outing and with the wind blowing out we will see if we can get some of that TrevorendingStory magic going tonight.
Patrick Wisdom, 3B: $4,400. Seems like all Wisdom does is hits Home runs. He’s up to 17 on the year and currently sits 51st overall on the Razzball player rater. $4,400 is too cheap against Jason Alexander who has an xFIP over 5 and is due for a visit from the regression fairies.
Jace Peterson, OF: $2,700. Jace had the day off yesterday and pinch-hit, but prior to that he had started in 10 straight games and was riding an 8 game hit streak going into yesterday. Kyle Hendriks has pitched well against the Crew this year, but I’ll try the streaky lefty here at this price.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Very active weather pattern today. Potential for issues in Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Chicago, Philly, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Boston. Strong winds blowing out in Philly, Boston and Oakland. Keep an eye to the skies and consider it in your lineups.
Doing Lines In Vegas
I did mention I do a bit of Sports Handicapping. Follow me on Twitter @TheGreat Knoche for more info. I’ll give out a Free Play here every Tuesday, but you can find all my free and premium picks for MLB and a few other sports at The Odds Breakers
Had a nice hit on our free play here Sunday with the over in the White Sox Giants game, I’m on another over for our free play tonight, and it’s the game I am loading up the stack. Give me the over 8 runs in the Jays/A’s at -115.
