Carlos Santana provides the back drop for today’s headline of the May Day Draft Kings special. Well it’s not a special contest but it happens to be my Thursday that coincides with it being May Day. Before we move forward lets make it clear that this is Carlos Santana the guitarist’s song I’m word playing with and not the poor hitting catcher and the Santana I’m talking about in the title is the pitcher Ervin Santana who is not related to any of the previous mentioned Santana’s. Wow, that’s a lot of Santana’s. When I was a kid I jacked my dad’s Santana tape and listened to that thing until I broke it. Then when I got older and did drugs and all the songs made sense. I got your Jingo right here.  Ervin Santana is what I like to call my sure thing pitcher who most will probably start but I don’t want to be behind the eight ball because that wold suck buy or S.T.P.W.M.W.P.S.B.I.D.W.T.B.B.T.E.B.B.T.W.S.B. I think I need to work on that acronym. Maybe I should ask the baby’s mama what she thinks I should call it? First she gives me “pick of the litter” but that really plays into all this kitty business around here and I can’t be having that. I love puppies too much. Then she turns to me and says he’s your 24 carat play. I like it, he’s my 24 carat play today, he cost’s a lot and he’s worth every penny of it. I love her Long Beach ghetto vernacular. When you get the Marlins and their 2nd worst 24.7% K rate and you play for a team that should score more runs than the other team then I think you got a 24 carat play. The dude has been on fire this year posting 3 wins in 4 starts a 1.95 ERA, and 10 K/9. Those numbers mean it’s a yes and thank you please. The Stream-o-Nator loves him today as it’s second favorite play on the day at $16.8. If you are looking for a second opinion on the Miami hitters, after Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich  is the next highest Hitter-Tron option at $6.7, which is not good for daily. Here are some other plays I like today.

Homer Bailey, SP: $7,400 – Stream-O-Nator loves this match-up and I like the gamble. I don’t think he is as bad he’s been and a .416 BABIP is ridiculously unlucky and he has no where to go but up from there. With Ryan Braun most likely out and Carlos Gomez a big hack this could be a revival like Danny Salazar had over the weekend against the Giants.

Salvador Perez, C: $3.600 – With all the double headers today I would stay away from any catchers playing in those games unless you see the morning lineups. He only has 6 AB’s against Mark Buehrle but has 3 hits that include a double and a triple. I know it’s a small sample size but that shouldn’t stop you from playing Sal “don’t bring up my abuelita because I fall to pieces” Perez.

Lucas Duda, 1B: $3,500 – I’m stacking the Mets today against the home run giver Juan Nicasio who has sported a 17.9% HR/FB and has averaged one per game so far this year.  At $3,500 you can’t beat that kind of value if you want to spend elsewhere. He’s also OF eligible if you want to play someone else at 1B.

Neil Walker, 2B: $3,800 – Neil likes hitting home runs this year and Draft Kings like rewarding them. I’ve been schedule watching all day and he gets Chris Tillman in the late game and when you get a right handed pitcher that likes to give them up and a hitter that has hit 5 against right hander’s this year….cust kayin’

David Wright, 3B: $4,300 – He’s at Coors Canaverale  and that’s good enough for me. I think tomorrow’s game will be a shoot out and with very few options out there I like this one considering what other 3rd base options are there. I’m really on a stack attack for the Mets.

Billy Hamilton, SS: $3,700 – Yes he’s eligible at SS in Draft Kings and he’s been heating up and stealing bases of late. He went for a slam and legs this past Tuesday and I feel at least 1, dare I say maybe 2 stolen base today. Run Billy Run!

Jay Bruce, OF: $4,000 – He kills Marco Estrada hitting a nice .353 against with 4 home runs. Speaking of home runs, Estrada has given up 5 home runs on the year and only 10 earned runs…hmmm sounds like he’s a little lucky so far. I’m brucely sold and so should you.

Matt Joyce, OF: $3,700 – He’s been hitting really well this year and is due for one of his classic off day home runs and surprise! He gets a right hander that literally gives up a home run every game this year. It’s a gut play and Joyce does have a previous home run vs. Jake Peavy so i’m buying and praying.

Curtis Granderson, OF, $2,800 – He’s my if you are out of money and you need a body play then why not try grandy in Colorado against a home run giving pitcher. I know he’s been hot garbage all year but again if you are almost out of cash I would make him part of your stack.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

The rained out make up  LAD@MIN double header is still calling for a few showers but if they do play the wind is blowing out nicely to dead center. Everything else is either cloudy or clear, but really isn’t everything in life either cloudy or clear. It might rain from time to time but it’s either sunny or it’s not. I just realized it’s still cold in a lot of places like TOR@KC, MIL@CIN and NYM@COL. I’m from SoCal yo’s and if gets below 70 during the day I think the world is coming to an end. I honestly have no idea how you all in the north do it. I can’t wait til it heats up and the ball starts launching out of the park. I’m looking at you Miggy and Prince.

Doing Lines In Vegas

The odds makers are taking bumps and blowing these scores sky high today. I ain’t seen this much blow-up since I went a party hosted by a Columbian balloon supplier.

NYM@COL at 9 1/2 and I’ve already gone over my NYM stack attack. After reading that  Bartolo Colon is taking the mound instead of Zach Wheeler then I highly recommend you do the double stack.

PIT@BAL at 8 1/2 is one I’m a little weary about but these guys are professional odds makers and I’m a professional arm chair quarterback/manager/aficionado.

TB@BOS at 8 1/2 in game 2 of the doubleheader is Chris Archer and his 6.11 ERA over his last three starts vs. Felix Doubront and his 4.50 ERA over his last three starts. I think I might play a few DraftKings games tomorrow because the stacks are looking tasty.

I’ll see you all this Sunday for the latest installment of Jack’s Hit of the Week and the celebration of Cuatro de Mayo.
