Welcome, you die-hard baseball DFS degen. With the NFL now on the forefront of many sports fans’ minds, we here at Razzball push onward and look to keep whatever momentum we have going or starting a new heater as we wind down the season. With this being one of my last articles for this season, I hope it provided some useful insight or at least gave you some players to think about each week and hoped it helped you at least a smidge in your slates this season. The pitcher I’m focusing on today to play is Sandy Alcantara ($10,600). Sandy has had a very productive season for the Marlins this year and will be making his 30th start for the Marlins so he has been very reliable in taking the hill each time it was his turn in the rotation. Alcantara deserves better than his 8-13 record indicates as his surface numbers of 3.24 ERA and 1.10 WHIP don’t completely do justice to the great year he has had. Alcantara commands all 4 of his main pitches with outstanding accuracy and throws a 98 MPH heater as well. Alcantara has one of the best chase rates in all of baseball and will be facing the Washington Nationals today who are very prone to striking out with Bell, Robles, and Soto all nearing the 100 K mark. Alcantara faced the Nationals back on June 27th and pitched ok but did get the loss however the Nationals had a vastly different lineup then and Alcantara will not have to face the same lefties especially he did that day. I think Alcantara has a great game today and wouldn’t be surprised with a 9 inning shutout here.

SP- Adam Wainright ($9,800) I don’t know anybody who predicted this from Waino this season but he has been absolutely on fire with a 15-7 2.98 AVG 1.03 WHIP. Wainright faces the Mets who just played on Sun Night baseball and beat the Yankees 7-6 so could be a letdown spot here with Rich Hill on the mound.
1B-Paul Goldschmidt ($3,600) Goldschmidt has seen Rich Hill plenty and is batting .500 against him with a couple of HR this year. Goldschmidt has cooled down a bit in September after a torrid August but you don’t pass up an opportunity like this when he has a matchup like this one today.
2B- Ketel Marte ($3,500) Great numbers against lefties and has seen Kershaw enough this year to hit 2 HR and a triple off of him in prior matchups. .729 slg against lefties is an eye-popping number. Can’t ignore the evidence here take him every day of the week in this situation.
3B-Nolan Arenado ($3,500) It feels like I’m picking on poor Rich Hill and I guess yes I am! Arenado hits lefties well and has hit 1 over the fence against Hill already this year. Another prime spot to do it again.
SS-J.P. Crawford ($2,700) J.P. has had a very productive season and has continued it in September hitting in 5-6 games in a row. Crawford did not get a hit yesterday so I think he starts a new streak against Eduardo Rodriguez today with a couple of hits and a run or two.
OF- Juan Soto ($4,400) Pricey but for good reason. Has seen plenty of Alcantara this year and has 2 HR against him to date. .555 SLG and 1.047 OPS against righties. Whew, try and fit him in anywhere you can.
OF- Kevin Pillar ($2,400) Needing a low-cost option, Pillar is a great play today vs Wainright. Pillar has hit Waino well this year and is having a resurgent September batting .294 with a .949 OPS.
OF- Dylan Carlson ($2,700) Another bat against Hill today, Carlson hasn’t hit a HR since Aug 28th and seems due for one. Hits lefties way better than righties and last I checked Rich was still a lefty so I’m sticking with targeting him today and I think Carlson gets one out on him today.
UTIL-Christian Walker ($2,400) I had to take a 2nd glance at this stat but Walker has 7 hits against Kershaw this season and has hit 4 HR against him. With his price point this low you got to take a chance, Walker looks to have Kershaw’s number this season and get him in your lineup. This is a Plug and Play lineup and will get you under the cap if you choose to tail.
