Has anyone started a “Are the Mariners being no-hit” Twitter account yet?  If not, that seems like a missed opportunity this year.  Targeting the Mariners in DFS has been a winning strategy so far this year, just ask my account after Sean Manaea went ham Thursday night.  The green screens were plentiful and we’ll look to keep those screens green tonight when Chris Bassitt ($9,700) takes the mound.  Manea and Bassitt are having pretty similar seasons so far (9.9 K/9 for Manaea, 9.1 for Bassitt), each is around 2.1 BB/9 and each has a FIP nearly identical to their ERAs.  I’m not saying we’ll be looking at another 13K shutout from Bassitt, but I do like the odds for a very productive evening at a cheaper price tag than some of the other big names pitching tonight.

Framber Valdez, SP: $8,200 – I was *this* close to naming this article “Framber, Texas Ranger”.  In the end, I like Bassitt’s upside a hair better, but Framber should also be great against a Rangers team who has struggled to get much going.  They don’t strike out as often as the Mariners, but their offense is just as bad.

Tony Gonsolin, SP: $6,500 – This comes down to our old DFS standby of Rockies on the road.  Gonsolin should have no trouble dealing with this lineup, the only trouble is, he likely only runs through the order twice.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., C/1B: $4,500 – Picking on Taijuan Walker worked out in a big way the last time I recommended it, so I’m going back to the well with Vladdy.

Joey Votto, C/1B: $3,100 – Jake Woodford could be serviceable one day, but I don’t think that day is today and I like the Reds to handle him tonight.

Brandon Lowe, 2B: $3,600 – The Guardians (wow, that feels funny) pitching staff has been fun to pick on lately.  Lowe has found himself at the top of the lineup recently.  J.C. Mejia should get crushed by the Rays tonight, so nabbing their leadoff hitter should be a no-brainer.

Jonathan India, 2B: $3,300 – Speaking of leadoff hitters, if I like the Reds, I’d be silly not to recommend their leadoff guy as well tonight.

Josh Donaldson, 3B: $3,000 – Donaldson is all by himself in what was a fun lineup about 3 weeks ago.  I still like Dongaldson a lot though and he’s going in with the platoon advantage on Patrick Sandoval.

Justin Turner, 3B: $3,700 – I am happy to pick on the Rockies pitching most days and today seems to be one of those days, apologies to Kyle Freeland.

Paul DeJong, SS: $2,900 – The Cardinals as a team have pretty good numbers against Luis Castillo.  Stacking against Castillo doesn’t seem very smart, considering his form right now.  However, that should make this a pretty low-rostered stack for a GPP.  Something to consider.

Carlos Correa, SS: $3,000 – Speaking of not very smart, I feel like I’ve been stacking against Kyle Gibson all year, just waiting for that blow-up to happen and it hasn’t.  Maybe it finally happens tonight?

Nelson Cruz, OF: $3,700 – I am eager to see how Cruz helps the Rays lineup and as I mentioned in the Lowe blurb, I love them tonight.

Dylan Carlson, OF: $3,400 – Carlson is giving me everything I hoped Bader would be providing, hitting leadoff, hitting homers, and scoring runs.  He’s hot lately too and I’m really liking this Cardinals stack for a GPP bullet.

Akil Baddoo, OF: $3,100 – I have mentioned many times that I love guys who can score DFS points in multiple ways.  Those SBs often get overlooked for the power numbers, but every little thing chips in.  It’s not often we look to the Tigers for offense, but I could see Carlos Hernandez struggling some tonight.

Aristides Aquino, OF: $2,200 – Back to the Reds and I guy I have been targeting in DFS lineups nightly since the ASB.  Aquino is near min-priced and has way too much power for this price tag.  This is a GPP winning pick if Aquino goes off, as he’s capable of.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

I think we’re clear of the wet stuff for the main slate tonight.

Doing Lines In Vegas

We have two big favorites tonight, the Dodgers and Giants are both sitting at -245.  Gausman would make a slam dunk cash game play, but if Gonsolin can get through 5 innings, that’s a win for half the price.  Our highest over/under of the night comes from DET@KC with 10 runs.  Not exactly offensive power-houses there in KC, but maybe they’ll be low-owned and you can take advantage of that.  Not a big surprise that the lowest over/under comes from Milwaukee where Rodon takes on Burnes.  Two studs make for a 7 run total and either one is a nice, albeit, expensive play.
