They call Draft fantasy for the people, and why not? It’s easy as Sunday morning. Sign up at Draft.com, do a quick snake draft of 3, 4, 6 or 10 players, and get a piece of the payouts.  Here at Razzball we recommend using Value-Based Drafting (VBD) to make the most of your roster.  Using Rudy’s tools, you can easily sort values and take the projected points for the final player drafted at each position (P, IF, OF) and subtracting from all the players at that position, then re-ranking based on VBD.  In other words: Razzball will give you the inside knowledge you need to dominate your DFS opponents.

You may have experienced a little something called postponed Major League games.  And when you’re working with a small roster and every decision is vital,  the weather can be a death knell for your fantasy hopes and dreams. With that in mind, welcome to park known as Chase Field and climb on the thrill ride known as Patrick Corbin. He is tearing up the league in the early going, averaging close to 7 innings per start with 12 K/9 and a mind blowing .695 WHIP.  He is the undisputed king of starting pitchers right now and he gets the lowly Padres at his climate-controlled home in Arizona.  Corey Kluber is a great choice as well, but he’s playing in the bandbox of Baltimore.  Patrick Corbin is the 4th-ranked pitcher today on Draft, so target him in the first round or with the first pick in the second.

Alex Wood, SP: Middle – This Dodgers hurler gets to let it fly at home, where he has a career 1.14 WHIP and 9.1 K/9.  Today he faces a struggling Nationals team that has yet to really get going.  He’s ranked 6th on Draft, so he’s no Walmart special, but he could be the last pick in a three-player draft that wipes out the competition.

Miles Mikolas, SP: Late – He’s a sneaky good play. Mikolas gets to face the Reds, whom he’s already beat with a 7 inning start and a 0.86 WHIP.  Raise a Bud to this guy pitching at home in St. Louis and grabbing a win with great peripherals in the late rounds as the 21st-ranked pitcher on Draft.

Kris Bryant, IF: Early – This thumper and perennial MVP candidate gets to anchor the powerful Cubs lineup in a likely slugfest at Coors field in sunny Denver. Bryant loves it there: he’s hit to a tidy .986 OPS in his career.  A worthy first-round pick.

Mike Trout, OF: Early – He’s not flashy, just puts on his hardhat and goes to work.  A steady metronome of hits, home runs, runs scored, RBIs, stolen bases.  Lather, rinse, repeat.

Cody Bellinger, IF: Middle – Somehow the reigning rookie of the year is under the radar, but he’s been heating up the last week and a half and gets to ply his trade at home against RHP Jeremy Hellickson.  Grab a Dodger Dog and look for some fireworks.

Kyle Schwarber, OF: Middle – One of the hottest hitters this past week, Schwarber is another Cubbie getting to whack away in Coors field. He has a career 1.227 OPS there.  He’s the 15th-ranked outfielder on Draft and has a grant chance to perform in the top five.

Joey Gallo, IF: Late – Mr. Three True Outcomes gets to face RHP Erasmo Ramirez at home.  The last time these two faced off, Gallo went 2 for 3 with 2 HRs. The wind is blowing out in Arlington today in what could be a slug-fest.  Ranked in the 40s on Draft, he’s an excellent 9th- or 10th-round pick.

Michael Brantley, OF: Late – The Brantley comeback tour is gearing up and he’s been filling up the stat sheet over the past 10 days.  He gets to face a right-handed pitcher in Baltimore, where he has a career .821 OPS.  He’s ranked in the 40s on Draft; I would definitely nab him in the later rounds of even 5-player match-ups.

I’m Only Happy When It Rain(e)s

Hall-of-famer Tim Raines would be pretty happy in Arlington TX today for the Rangers vs. the Mariners.  There’s a pretty good 15 MPH wind blowing out. On the other hand, the pitchers in St. Louis get a 15 MPH wind blowing in.  The only trouble spot is in Atlanta for the Mets vs. the Braves.  It’s raining all day, so don’t be as unhappy as Matt Harvey is, being demoted to the bullpen, and avoid that game.

Doing Lines in Vegas

How about a little love for the Vegas Golden Knights?  In the playoffs for a first-year NHL team is pretty good, pretty pretty good.  Now to the good stuff:

Stack ’em, pack ’em and rack ’em:  The most run projections for today are the Cubs (6.45 runs), the Indians (5.41 runs) and the Phillies (5.16 runs).

The best and brightest: Today’s biggest favorites are the Indians -302 vs. Orioles, the Yankees -258 vs Blue Jays, and the Astros -227 vs White Sox.
