If there is one thing the Cincinnati Reds can do is they can mash RHP. They currently rank top 5 against RHP in wOBA and OPS and almost in the top 10 in nearly all offensive categories. A match-up tonight against Chris Flexen leads to a great stacking possibility. Flexen has been up and down in his brief rookie campaign, but he has been awful on the road. He has an ERA of 8.18 away from home and a trip to Great American Ball Park should balloon that number even further. Joey Votto (410,000), Scooter Gennett ($8,000), Scott Schebler ($7,200), Eugenio Suarez ($8,000) and Adam Duvall ($7,800) should all be able to light up the scoreboard tonight. The over under in this game is sitting at 10 runs, so a slugfest is expected.

Matt Moore, P: $15,600 – Has quietly been on a nice run as of late and had some great numbers over his last three starts (20.1 IP, 19 Ks, 2.21 ERA, and a .98 WHIP). A match-up versus one of the worst teams against LHP is always welcomed. The San Diego Padres are hitting .222 against lefties with a .658 OPS.
Jake Arrieta, P: $21,500 – Two or fewer earned runs in his last 8 starts and he has always been able to pitch well against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Also a great match-up versus a team that has been in a huge funk over the last week hitting just .202 and a .608 OPS.
Trey Mancini, IF: $8,800 – Currently on a tear hitting .478 with a 1.258 OPS over the last week. Should get some opportunities to produce as the Orioles have been lighting up score board recently and great match-up vs. Erasmo Ramirez.
Daniel Murphy, IF: $8,800 – The guy rakes against anyone but 2-3 ABs against Vance Worley can make for a great night. Doesn’t hurt that 17 of his 20 HRs are against RHP.
Kennys Vargas, IF: $7,200- Getting chance to play with Miguel Sano on DL. Has a great opportunity to produce tonight as he is much stronger against RHP and get a struggling one in James Shields. His HR/9 is sitting at a hefty 3.38 against left handed batters.
Kevin Kiermaier, OF: $8,800 – Has come back from the DL on fire, hitting .325 and a 1.007 OPS during that span. His average is nearly 80 points higher against righties, should continue hot run against Jakob Junis.
Christian Yelich, OF: $8,400 – Has shown all of his power against RHP (13 HRs to 3 vs LHP). Edwin Jackson is bound to turn into a pumpkin eventually, could come tonight against a hot Marlins team.
Matt Kemp, OF: $7,600 – Right back on track since coming off the DL and a solid match-up vs Mark Leiter Jr. who has been bitten by the long ball.
George Springer, OF: $9,200 – Crushing lefties to the tune of a .994 OPS and .416 wOBA, nothing scary about a match-up vs. Martin Perez.
Only Happy When it Rains
Some rain is expected in the DMV area so that makes the Baltimore and Washington games one to keep an eye on. Its almost a 50% chance of rain before first pitch, so there definitely is a threat for delay and possible PPD. The rest of the slate looks good to go.
