Movers and Shakers: Project Mayhem (Ones are GOOD right?) gained 14-and-a-half points and moved up 204 spots to 147th. MStark’s team in Cracking The WHIP gained another 30 positions after last week’s 100-spot rise and now sits in 11th place. That’s a Shame (Bold Predictions) improved for the 4th week in a row, jumping a total of 340 places to reach the top 10.
Free Agents: Francisco Rodriguez and Vinnie Pestano were scooped up as Jim Henderson and Chris Perez went to the DL. Leonys Martin continued to be added, and is now owned in 70% of the Razzball Commenter Leagues. With speculation of a Michael Wacha start this week, his ownership jumped from 3% to 84%. Julio Teheran (80%) and Zack Wheeler (77%) also saw a spike this week.
League Stats: Cougars Welcomed (104.2) have taken over the top spot in the League Competitive Index, followed by Night of the Living Zombinos (103.9), Ones are GOOD, right? EXPERTS: Rudy pulled to within 1 of leader Mike Podhorzer (RotoGraphs) after recording an ERA of 1.52 and 0.92 WHIP this week. Mike, on the other hand, had a 6.05 ERA. Derek Carty made a big move this week, gaining 12 points and jumping 3 spots to 7th. He led the league in RBI with 44, but his pitching was the key to his week, recording 8 wins, 5 saves, and 80 K, with an ERA of 2.93 and 0.96 WHIP. You can find all Expert League unofficial Week 8 stats here. Grey led the Experts with 14 home runs, gained another 1.5 points, and moved up to 5th place. His 4.47 ERA for the week, however, left him at 3.71 for the season.
Writers: Andrew Nordmeier continues to lead the Razzball Elite, and has moved up to 26th overall. Jaywrong is now second after a 5.5-point gain. Jay has risen from 617th to 267th in 4 weeks. He was also involved in 1 of the 3 trades completed this week, sending Buster Posey and Yu Darvish to Nick for Aroldis Chapman, Miguel Montero, and Ian Kinsler. Nick also traded the evil Johnny Cueto and Desmond Jennings to Tehol for Justin Verlander. Trades: After 19 trades this week, there have now been 167 deals involving 538 players. That’s an average of 2.6 per league. The ECFBL have engineered the most at 14, followed by Epic Beardmen Division (10) and Cougars Welcomed (9). Eleven leagues have not completed a trade. Bushwood Varmint Cong (Epic Beardmen) made 2 trades this week, their 7th and 8th on the year. First they acquired Erick Aybar, Jose Bautista, and Joe Nathan from the Seattle Silverbacks for Carlos Beltran, Emilio Bonifacio, and Jeff Samardzija. Then they dealt Nathan and Evan Gattis for Stephen Strasburg. The Silverbacks also picked up Josh Hamilton, sending Joe Mauer to The Runs. Last week’s top team, That’s a Shame (Bold Predictions), continued their stellar production to take hitting honors this week with a .293 average, 55 runs, 14 home runs, 56 RBI, and 8 stolen bases. Miguel Cabrera hit 3 home runs, drove in 10, and scored 7 while batting .364 to lead the attack. Adam Jones also scored 7 runs and hit 4 home runs. Everth Cabrera (5 Runs/5 RBI/1 SB), Freddie Freeman (6 Runs/7 RBI), and Coco Crisp (.400/2 SB) were also big contributors.

Alex Cobb (2 Wins/1.84/0.68) and Stephen Strasburg (1 Win/ 16 K/1.20/0.87) paced the staff with strong support from Lance Lynn, Paul Maholm, and Marco Estrada. Aroldis Chapman saved 4 and Jason Grilli added 3 more.
