This will be a slightly shorter Razzball Commenter Leagues update than normal. I’m currently on vacation with the family and just spent 12 hours walking around an amusement park/ waterpark and the sun may have cooked my brain a bit. For that reason and the fact I couldn’t spend the normal hour or two on […]

Please, blog, may I have some more?Hopefully, the first day of summer on Tuesday brings with it some nice victories in DFS as it was a buzz-saw of a weekend for me. I’ve been dealing with a visit from everybody’s favorite virus since Friday. I am fortunate, as symptoms are mild, but it still feels like I’ve run three marathons every […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Grey and B_Don are back to go over the Super 2 super studs getting the call up. Several of The Itch’s top 10 prospects got the call up last week. We talk about and rank our pickup order for Riley Greene, Oneil Cruz, Alex Kiriloff, C.J. Abrams, Jarren Duran, Shane Baz, and Josh Lowe. We […]

If you’ve prayed to the House of Mustache, knelt before the King of Knows-A-Thing, drank from the Fantasy Master Lothario’s Kool-Aid, wept into the Cup of What Am I Doing With Jose Berrios, farted in the direction of everyone who drafts a starter early, then you did not enjoy Gerrit Cole (7 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 1 hit, 3 walks, 12 Ks, ERA at 3.14) last night. No worries, we are here for each other during these difficult days. If one of you reading this had Cole go last night, I am screaming, “Infidel,” at you while spraying you with vape juice (it’s all I have handy). We must live together without the aces and die together without the aces. Y’all who are sneaking aces are cheating and you best sleep with your eyes open. If you really want to know how Cole’s doing (why?), he’s doing great. His peripherals look as great as they’ve been post-Spider Tack — 11.6 K/9, 2.4 BB/9, 2.73 xFIP. The best ever he’s looked? Meh, not really. That was in Houston. The best he’s looked with the Yankees? Borderline acceptable to say that. Honestly, he’s great. Remember, it’s not about us missing out on Cole, it’s about the guys we’re able to get later in place of him. For unstints, his opponent last night: Shane McClanahan (6 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 8 Ks, ERA at 1.81). Imagine seeing both Cole and McClanahanananananananan’s numbers this year and being like, “That’s why you draft Cole in the 1st round!” Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more? We’re all here because we love baseball (on Razzball, not Earth; that’s a different “Why are we here?” discussion for another column/site). When did you know you loved it? Feel free to skip through if you just want the rankings. For me, it was before I was a teenager. My grandfather played on a small-college […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers out there this past weekend: If you’ve taken a break from baseball to focus on the NBA finals this past week, I’m happy to say we’ve had another exciting slate of MLB action. They say you always will see something new at the ballpark on any given day. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back to MLB DFS, Money Monday edition. It’s me, Cousin Timmy, wishing you a belated Happy Father’s Day! I hope you all had a great day and were able to have some DFS success. I used to ask my dad every year what he wanted for Father’s Day and his response was always “I […]

For Mother’s Day, MLB uses pink bats. My suggestion for Father’s Day is bats with hairy bags hanging off the handle. This suggestion appears to fall on deaf ears, even though I go through the proper channels, filling out all the comment cards in the lobby at MLB headquarters. Even chitchatting with Jim, at security, for way longer than most people! No one hears my suggestions! Shoot, I was typing that instead of saying it out loud in the lobby. Hmm, my bad. Hope everyone’s Father’s Day was nice, with a special shoutout to the fathers who are “yelling at cars on their street to slow down” years old. You know who you are (all of you). So, all the fantasy fathers got good news this weekend, major rookie nookie incoming (not from their wives, as usual). First call-up was Alex Kirilloff, after being in my Friday Buy. Not sure if we’ll talk about him today on the podcast, since BDon spent the last six weeks talking about him incessantly like he lost a bet. Next up was Riley Greene, as he started in the majors on Saturday. Dan Pants gave you his Riley Greene fantasy on Saturday. I’ve been giving you a Riley Greene fantasy for the last six months. If you don’t pick up Riley Greene, you hate winning and America. You’re a Communist. I’m sorry, please enter your driver’s license number in the comments. We need to send people to your house. Finally, the Pirates made all our dreams come true. No, they didn’t dissolve into other teams, so all their pitchers could become aces. They called up Oneil Cruz! Literally just gave you my Oneil Cruz fantasy. It’s all there. The “it” I am referring to are his five tools and my post. Anyway, here’s what else I saw this weekend in fantasy baseball:
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, granddads, stepdads, fathers-in-law, uncles, older brothers, and generally speaking, all the “father figures” out there making people’s lives better by being in them. My family let me sleep in this morning, so I’m in the best possible mood anyone could be in without psilocybin. What’s on your plate […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?As the temperature rises each and every day as the start of summer approaches, the top prospects in baseball are beginning to make their mark in the majors. Three such rookies are pitcher Roansy Contreras and catchers Gabriel Moreno and Adley Rutschman.
Entering the season, Contreras was ranked as the 80th best prospect by Baseball America, 71st by MLB and 89th by Baseball Prospectus. The right-hander has actually been up all season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, appearing in eight games and making six starts. However, he is rostered in only 34% of Yahoo leagues and 10.5% of ESPN leagues.
Moreno, who is only 22, started the season as a top-10 prospect by Baseball America and MLB and in the top 25 by Baseball Prospectus. He appeared in his first game with the Blue Jays June 11 and collected a single that night and has collected at least one hit in four of his first five major league games. Yet he is rostered in only 27% of Yahoo leagues and 9.8% of ESPN leagues.
Rutschman is 24 and just made it to the majors with the Orioles. But he should have been with Baltimore last season as he proved he had nothing left to prove in the minors. That said, he is rostered in only 61% of Yahoo leagues and a surprising low 41.5% of ESPN leagues.
Let’s look at these three players and examine of they should be Top Fantasy Keepers or not.
