Hopefully we are as happy as Ray Liota was in the movie Goodfellas when he was screaming JIMMY in the shower after Jimmy Nelson ($15,200) is done taking the mound against the Padres. The San Diego Padres are a great matchup almost every night in DFS, they rank 28th in the MLB in Runs, have the worst team batting average in the league and they are in the Top 5 in Strikeouts. Nelson is coming off a start were he allowed 0 earned runs and struck out 8 Boston Red Sox hitters. He should have a chance to match those number tonight and have a chance at the win, with the way the Brewers are swinging the bat.

There are some nice arms taking the mound tonight with Zack Grienke ($21,300) going up against the banged up New York Mets, and Dallas Keuchel ($22,800) facing the struggling Miami Marlins. I don’t need to tell you to pick those two guys who are on fire right now, so lets take a look at some other plays that could be worth the pick…right after the editor hops in and provides you all with a linky clicks for the FantasyDraft Razzball Exclusive Listener’s League.  It’s $5 which is about the cost for 16 oz of freedom in my neighborhood.  I hate missing out on a beer, but I hate missing out on playing this game even more.  Join us, won’t you?

Stephen Strasburg, P: $22,200 – Has a fantastic matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates and is a solid favorite at -160, so the win should be in play. The Pirates rank in the bottom 5 in Runs, Avg. and HRs so Strasburg should be able to handle them fairly easily. They have a .233 AVG and .662 OPS vs. RHP on the season. Strasburg should be one of the top Pitchers of the night.

Marco Estrada, P: Has been pretty consistent all year and a matchup against the Atlanta Braves should add on to his 2017 success. He is currently striking out 9.7 batters per 9 innings and with the team that has the least amount of runs over the last week coming to town, Estrada should be in your line up. Blue Jays are also -160 favorites on the night.

Miguel Sano, IF: $9,300 – Talk about a break out year for the big man, he has been posting counting stats all season. Gets to face lefty Kyle Freeland tonight; Sano has done some serious damage vs. LHP (.344 AVG, 1.180 OPS)

Ian Happ, IF: $7,200 – Cubs finally gave the top prospect the call up and he has continued to thrive in his chances in the majors. Gets the crafty veteran Bronson Arroyo who has had a rough season.

Buster Posey, IF: $8,000 – All he does is hit and has been on a tear this season. Gets Rich Hill, who he is batting .500 off in a small sample size. Posey is having his way with LHP this season (3 HRs .376 AVG 1.065 OPS) and should continue that today.

Josh Reddick, OF: $7,600 – Over the last 7 games he is batting .389 with 2 HRs and 1.199 OPS. Has a great matchup with Tom Koehler toeing the mound, who has a 2.29HR/9. Try getting as many Astros as you can in your line up.

Michael Conforto, OF: $9,200 – Is mashing RHP this season (8 HRs .356AVG 1.145). Has a tough matchup with Zack Grienke on the mound but the way he is swinging the bat lately you got to like his chances.

Franklin Gutierrez, OF: $6,300 – The career lefty killer gets soft tossing Ty Blach tonight, he should hit towards the top of the line up which figures to have some action.

Khris Davis, UTL: $7,200 – Is in a huge funk right now, has 1 hit in his last 20 ABs but there’s nothing like seeing a Pitcher with a 7.85 ErA when you are struggling. A matchup vs. Chase De Jong may he all he needs to get his groove back.

Marwin Gonzalez, UTL: $6,900 – All he does is hit HRs and get a pitcher who has been serving them up in Tom Koehler.

I’m Only Happy When it Rains

Only two games on the slate have a chance at weather problems tonight. The COL/MIN game has a 40% chance of rain. The KAN/NYY game has a 30% of rain throughout the game. AS always make sure to check the weather closer to game time.

Doing Lines In Vegas

We got some games with some fireworks expected, three games on the slate have a run expectancy of 9 runs or more (NYM/ARZ, COL/MIN, BAL/DET). So getting bats from those games should be on the agenda. The Chicago Cubs with John Lackey on the mound are the biggest favorites of the night at -195. The second biggest favorites of the night are the Texas Rangers at -185, they have Yu Darvish pitching. The way Derek Holland had been pitching lately, I believe the Chicago White Sox have some good value vs. the LA Angels.
