Welcome back and today we have a nice 11 game slate in which to click players we hinge our DFS greatness on and hope we can break even on the day in order to do it all again the next day. Nothing better right? Hope everybody had a great weekend as we are almost halfway through the season already and we should be seeing some exciting young players making their way to the minors. (Hope you all got on the Wander Franco train his 1st game up before his price went up last week.) Plenty of pitchers to choose from today that look interesting so let’s get into our focus pitcher for today and I’m going with Kyle Hendricks ($9,300 ).

Hendricks has a great floor for you to work with, doesn’t break the bank for your lineup and there hardly is any foot traffic on the bases when he is on the mound. You all remember late April early May Hendricks was dreadful for 3 starts during that span and we were all flabbergasted as to what the heck is going on. Well since May 16th (8 starts) Hendricks is back to being the Hendricks of old and has gone at least 6 INN in every start, no more than 3 ER, and has gone 9-1 with a 2.50 ERA. Hendricks faces the Brewers today which he faced twice earlier in the season both starts were quality starts going his usual 6 INN with 6 K’s and 2 ER’s combined in both starts. I don’t see anything changing from the norm we have seen from Hendricks lately. The Brewers are awful against righties with .213 avg and .298 OBP and they are trotting out strikeout artists like Keston Hiura and Tyrone Taylor these days so I wouldn’t be too concerned about the lineup. The Cubs are starting Freddy Peralta today which will get high ownership so you will probably see a 2-1 game here but I like the Cubs’ chances of getting into the Brewers’ bullpen and pulling out a victory here.

SP- Anthony DeSclafani ($8,300) Disco has been so so good for the Giants this season I kept on coming back to him today as a play. I initially was worried about him facing the Dodgers where in his one start he got blown up it was against this Dodger team but that was back in May with a different lineup and the Dodgers haven’t looked that spectacular of late. Since the back-to-back Dodger starts in May DeSclafani has been great winning all four of his starts in June and pitching deep into the game. The Dodgers are coming off a Sun Night win against the Cubs while the Giants seemed lethargic yesterday in their loss against the A’s after their big win on Saturday night against Oakland. I see the Giants team motivated to get a win against Bauer and the Dodgers today and the Dodgers playing flat. DeSclafani does enough to get a quality start for you and gets 7 K’s while getting the victory.

C/1B- Jared Walsh ($3,600) Angels go up against Michael King and the Yankees today and if you want to target Mr. King feel free to do so and make sure you get the righty masher Walsh in there. .337 avg and 14 out of his 18 HR’s have been against righties. Will be highly owned but I think the price is worth it for what Walsh can bring to the table today.

2B- Eduardo Escobar ($3,400) Dbacks are in a good spot today against the Cards and Wade Leblanc. Escobar hits lefties well and he has shown power this season with 17 HR and 52 RBI’s. The Dbacks can score runs a plenty so don’t be afraid to get some righty hitters in there against Leblanc who will prob only go 3-4 innings at most.

3B- Anthony Rendon ($3,000) Going right back to the Angels targeting King. Rendon has had a slow 1st half of the season but signs are pointing to a wake-up coming.  He has 4 hits out of his last 5 games with one of those hits being an HR against the Rays this past weekend. He faces a pitcher (King) who isn’t great by any means and if there is a spot to jump-start an awakening from Rendon, this is it.

SS- Trea Turner ($4,400) Against Eickoff and the Mets today. Hits a plenty, runs a plenty, Throw in a steal or two. He’s like a luxury vehicle if you can afford it why not treat yourself come on you deserve it.

OF- Alex Dickerson ($2,300 ) I really want to target Bauer and the Dodgers today. I don’t think the Giants are getting enough respect still as they are heavy underdogs today and I think Dickerson is somebody who can come up with a big hit late. He is back off the injured list and had a nice 3 hit game on Thursday against the Angels so I think he is back to seeing the ball well and comes up big today.

OF- Michael Conforto ($2,800) I don’t know about you but I’d rather be ahead of the curve on pricing than getting a player after a 4-4 game. Conforto is a hitter we all know can hit the baseball. He’s coming back off a stint on the IL and hasn’t gotten a hit yet since he’s returned. He faces a TBD pitcher from the Nationals today and I’ll take that chance any day on Conforto at a good price to get me a couple of knocks and hopefully turn on one and hit it out.

OF- Dylan Carlson ($2,600) Hitting 1st in the Cardinal lineup with this cheap price tag against a pitcher (Faria is this 2015?) I’ll take this any day. 5 hits out of his last 6 games with an HR this past weekend gives me an inkling he’s about to have a little heater and against a pitcher that doesn’t offer a lot.

UTIL- Shohei Ohtani ($4,100 ) No problem with spending up for Shohei in this spot against King and the Yankees. Of course, he will be high owned but you don’t want to miss out on a potentially huge night from Ohtani and it’s much more fun watching him when he is in your lineup.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Some weather concerns today.  The game most likely to be affected is the Twins vs. White Sox.

Looks like a delay due to thunderstorms or a postponement is a possibility.

Doing Lines in Vegas

Hope at least one of you out there tailed my last week 2 pick that hit. This week I got 2 as well.

Detroit F5 ML +125- Faces a starter (Morgan with a 10.38 ERA) Tigers aren’t that bad of a team they get to him here in the first 5.

Angels TT over 4.5  Faces M. King hard to see Angels don’t go over this total.
