On a slate with no true ace taking the bump, the Phillies’ Aaron Nola is the guy to build your FanDuel lineups around. He has the second lowest SIERA on the slate, and the lowest xFIP. Nola has a 26.2% K%, and when he isn’t striking guys out, he is getting them to put the ball on the ground with a 47.2% groundball rate. With the Padres’ striking out in 27.1% of their at-bats against right-handed pitchers this season, Nola should continue to put up good numbers on Monday.

Walker Buehler, SP: $10,400 – The Dodgers’ starter has a slate best 3.93 SIERA and a 3.81 xFIP. While the Diamondbacks have a 23.2% K% and a .177 ISO versus righties this season. Buehler is the favorite here and should be good for the win bonus as Vegas has the Dodgers as overwhelming favorites at -143.

Anthony Rizzo, C/1B: $4,500 – Using just about any measure that you want, Rizzo has done destroyed right-handed pitching this season. He has a 1.089 OPS, .344 ISO, .448 wOBA and a 181 wRC+. He also has a 47.3% hard contact rate versus the righties. Look for more of the same from the Riz on Monday. The Angels’ Trevor Cahill, who will follow an opener on Monday, has gotten rocked by lefties this season. The Los Angeles’ hurler has a .430 wOBA, 51.2% hard contact rate and has allowed 2.45 HR/9 to left-handed sticks.

Rhys Hoskins, C/1B: $4,300 – The Phillies’ slugger has dominated left-handed pitching in 2019. He has produced a 1.029 OPS and a .306 ISO versus southpaws. San Diego’s Eric Lauer has allowed a 44.9% hard contact rate to righties so far this season, so expect Hoskins to hit a ball or two really hard in this one.

Edwin Encarnacion, C/1B: $3,900 – Encarnacion finds himself in a very favorable position on Monday. The first baseman has crushed right-handed pitching this season to the tune of a .239 ISO and a .354 wOBA. Combine that with the Astros’ Corbin Martin’s struggles versus righties this season, and Encarnacion looks like a pretty good option for Monday. The Houston starter is allowing .492 wOBA and 5.87 HR/9 to right-handed batters in 2019.

Enrique Hernandez, 2B: $3,100 – Hernandez has a 50.9% hard contact rate versus left-handed pitching this season. He will oppose the Diamondbacks’ Robbie Ray, who is allowing a 44.8% hard contact rate to righties. Expect Hernandez to hit the ball hard in this one.

Addison Russell, 2B: $2,800 – Russell has hit right-handed pitching awfully well since returning to action. He has a .240 ISO and a .385 wOBA versus righties in 2019.

Kris Bryant, 3B: $4,300 – The Angels’ Trevor Cahill is allowing 2.87 HR/9 to right-handed bats this season. With Bryant owning a .247 ISO versus righties, the Cubs third baseman has a solid chance at going yard in this one.

Yulieski Gurriel, 3B: $3,200 – While Gurriel’s numbers against lefties are rather pedestrian, this is more about attacking a flyball pitcher that struggles with right-handed batters than it is about using the Astros’ infielder. Seattle’s LeBlanc is allowing a 41.5% hard contact rate and 2.95 HR/9 versus righties in 2019.

Alex Bregman, SS: $4,400 – Bregman checks all of the boxes here. He owns the platoon splits. Seattle’s Wade LeBlanc is allowing a .404 wOBA to righties in 2019, while the Astros’ infielder has a .241 ISO versus lefties this season. LeBlanc also is a finesse pitcher as his average fastball sat under 86 MPH in the month of May. While Bregman owns a 1.058 OPS against finesse type pitchers in 2019. Expect big things from Bregman today.

Jean Segura, SS: $3,600 – Segura versus a lefty is almost automatic. He has raked against left-handed pitching this season. Against southpaws, he has a .390 ISO, .476 wOBA and a 200 wRC+ in 2019.

Mike Trout, OF: $4,400 – Trout’s matchup is too sweet for Mondays. He has a .290 ISO, .405 wOBA and a 160 wRC+ against lefties this season. While the Chicago Cubs’ Jon Lester has gotten hit hard by right-handed batters this season. The lefty is allowing a 46.6% hard contact rate to righties.

Bryce Harper, OF: $4,200 – Look for some lefty on lefty crime here. Harper has a 51% hard contact rate versus left-handed pitching in 2019.

Josh Reddick, OF: $3,000 – You can’t go wrong picking any of the Astros’ outfielders on Monday. Michael Brantley, Derek Fisher, and Jake Marisnick have produced well against lefties this season. But Josh Reddick should be the first of the Astros’ outfielder that you plug into your FanDuel lineup. Reddick has a .282 ISO and a .461 wOBA versus southpaws this season. Reddick should continue his dominance over lefties on Monday. It also does not hurt that Reddick is 7 for 15 with four extra-base hits in his career versus the Seattle starter.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

All looks clear on the weather front. The temperature will be in the 90s in Arizona so expect that the Diamondbacks will have their roof closed for their matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Doing Lines In Vegas

The Phillies money line at -120 seems like a value play if you like Nola and the Phillies’ bats as much as you should.
