It’s a double plakata from Everywhere today! Yesterday, we saw Vladdy hit some dingers, and Jake Cronenworth hit for the cycle. I think if you roster somebody who hits for the cycle, you should just get an automatic win. Or GPP prize. Or a free entry to a $1 contest, whatever. I dunno, I’m not very good at business. But, I am one of the world’s okayest fantasy baseball players, and he’s what my Crushonator and Whiffonator are telling me to highlight for today’s Fanduel slate.

The Slate: You’ve got your choice between a 4-game “early” slate, a 10 game “main” slate, and a 14 game “all-day slate. If you’re sitting around your computer all day, hit that 14 game slate with as many GPP lineups as you can. Otherwise, I’m a bigger fan of ensuring active players, so I’d highlight the 10 game main slate.
Walker Buehler ($9200): Faces off against Colorado. What’s that? You’re afraid of Coors Field and the 690-foot homers that Shohei Ohtani was hitting there? OK, then you can play Gerrit Cole with the other 18 million people. For the rest of you, there’s Buehler, who takes on a pretty easy Rockies lineup that strikes out nearly 24% of the time vs. righties. Because he’s one of the cheaper elite pitcher options, you’ll be able to afford better bats.
Gerrit Cole ($10,100): Whew, that’s pricy. But, Cole threw a complete game shutout last time out, garnering 12 Ks along the way. You knew pitchers cost a lot! Problem is, Cole goes up against the Red Sox today, and they K at a less than 20% clip and have a team ISO of nearly .200 against righties. Cole is still a solid option, but his ownership numbers will be through the roof and his ceiling isn’t very high, so I wouldn’t rely on him as your main pitcher of the day.
Alex Cobb ($8800): Sure, Brandon Woodruff and Lucas Giolito are out there, but you want to save some cash to get hitters, right? Cobb faces off against the pathetic Mariners offense, and Cobb has a ridiculous 20%+ K-BB%. That’s great upside for not a lot of salary.
Chris Taylor ($4000) / Cody Bellinger ($4100) / Max Muncy ($4400): Sure, the Dodgers in Coors isn’t exactly rewriting the script on DFS. But, Bellinger’s vaguely capable of big games still, while Muncy has a .450 wOBA vs lefties and on the road. Tayor smashes lefties with a .430 wOBA against, while lining up in a nice trio that’s pretty affordable with a high upside.
Franmil Reyes ($3400) / Jose Ramirez ($4000) / Bobby Bradley ($2700): Cleveland is an underdog today, which will make them largely under-owned. Franmil’s one of the hottest hitters recently, and he goes up against Frankie Montas with a .430 wOBA split against pitchers like him at home. Meanwhile, Bobby Bradley crushes at home, with a .485 wOBA and a respectable .363 wOBA vs righties. This is a cheap stack that could be a nice leverage play for today.
George Springer ($3800) / Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($4400) / Teoscar Hernandez ($3300): If you’re taking the Alex Cobb route today, you’ll easily be able to afford a nice Toronto stack. You’ve got three of the best hitters going against the paltry Texas Rangers today, and Springer and Teoscar are price suppressed because of early season injuries. Teoscar mashes lefties at a .440 wOBA, so at $3300, he’s a steal today. Just be careful — 80% chance of rain today. But! That also means a lot of people won’t be playing them, and if the game goes on, you profit!
Single Players: all the single players, put your hands up!

I’m Only Happy When it Rains:
TEX/TOR, NYM/PIT, SDP/WAS, BOS/NYY — it’s a rainy one out there! Could be very volatile for your all day slate. That said, you’re looking at some of the elite offenses (and the Mets) under the threat of rain today, which will depress ownership. It’s your money — risk it as you like! High pressure throughout the entire US of A.
Doing Lines in Vegas:
Miami’s +105 at the time of writing against the Phillies; Zach Thompson is one of the hottest pitchers in MLB right now, and could easily turn that game. Cleveland is +160 against the Athletics, which is kind of odd given that CLE hits well enough, Montas isn’t stellar…I think that line is due to Cal Quantrill starting for CLE. ENYWHEY. Inefficiency spotted.
