Just when it seemed like Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty was in the majors for good, the Cardinals went and sent him down. Oh, wait, he’s not in triple-A, he’s just facing another minor league lineup in the Marlins. After all, they’re starting guys like JT Riddle and Lewis Brinson. Miami has just a .283 wOBA versus righties this year, which is the second lowest mark in the league. Since Flaherty has already had success in the major leagues, he should put together a great start tonight, and you can get him for cheap on Draft.

Lance McCullers, SP: McCullers’ 25.5% K-rate gives him a ton of DFS upside any night that he starts. The Mariners, his opposition, have a .314 wOBA versus righties this year, a roughly league average mark. With both McCullers and Flaherty being so undervalued by Draft’s projection system tonight, I’m waiting on pitching.

Jose Ramirez, IF: Ramirez is having an insane year. He’s already got 19 homers and seven steals, and he’s walking 13.4% of the time while striking out just 10.7% of the time, putting up a 174 wRC+. Chase Anderson is a cupcake, so drafting Ramirez as well as a few Indians teammates should work out well.

Jose Altuve, IF: Altuve has been one of the best players in fantasy baseball over the last 15 days, batting .383 with a .979 OPS and five steals. Apparently Draft hasn’t caught on to this yet, as he’s only projected for 8.0 points.

Nolan Arenado, IF: Arenado is one of the only Rockies hitters worth starting on the road. Then again, facing Sal Romano in Great American Ballpark might as well be the best offensive environment in the league.

Mike Trout, OF: Trout is normally the highest ranked hitter on Draft, but he’s only third tonight. I’ll gladly take him over Aaron Judge or Khris Davis.

Starling Marte, OF: Marte is cold right now but is still an outstanding fantasy play thanks to his power/speed combo. He’s facing Caleb Ferguson, who is making his MLB debut, so the Pirates could score lots of runs against him.

Cody Bellinger, OF: Bellinger was dropped in the order last night but responded with a home run. Hopefully that’s a sign of things to come.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Clear skies tonight.

Doing Lines In Vegas

I like the Pirates at +102 facing Ferguson in his debut. The Phillies are also worth a look at +123 with Aaron Nola on the mound.

    Nice writ up Troy!
I’m in a 12 team H2H Points league. We only start 3 SP weekly so quite often decent pitchers are available. I currently have Madbum, Thor, Corbin, Berrios, Taillon. Bundy& Flaherty are available with 2 start weeks next week. Drop Taillon for one of these 2?
    Thanks!
