Happy Saturday DFSers!  With any luck we can make your weekend a little better by landing you some cash.  We’ve got a nine game main slate tonight and it’ll take some pants cantaloupes to go with my top pitching recommendation, German Marquez ($7,600).  I hear you, I even cut bait with Marquez in a couple of shallow redrafts after his 11 run debacle against the Giants.  Since then though, he’s rocked a 3.27 ERA, which is like a 1.57 ERA in today’s juiced ball era, and struck out 35 in 33.  That included shutting down the Dodgers in Coors. Follow my logic here, if he can go 6 IP, 0 ER, 10 Ks vs. LA, the Mehlins should net him 9 IP, 0 ER and 30 Ks…yup, that math checks out!  In all seriousness, the Marlins have the lowest team OPS in the bigs by a long shot and I don’t even think Coors can help them. They are middle of the pack in team strikeouts but I think Marquez should be able to realistically hit 8+ here tonight.  Plus, the price is fantastic!  So, let’s go fishing and haul in some winning GPP lineups, shall we?

This juiced ball is getting a bit out of hand.  We once again obliterated our weekly records on offense this week and this year’s numbers compared to last year’s are a joke.  Our Team of the Week this week put up the highest scoring single week total of the season and had their way with the Master Standings.  There were gaudy numbers galore and with the trade deadline now come and gone we can only hope to scoop up the next Aristides Aquino from the waiver wire.  You can bet your bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos he was part of the TOW squad. At least if you’re going to get beat in August it will be by a guy with an 80 grade name,  That helps ease the pain. We’ll dive into all the weekly numbers and take a look at the top ten overall in the week that was, week 19.

Well kids, we made it.  The Razzball Commenter Leagues trade deadline has come and gone and it went out with a bang!  RCLers completed twenty-two trades this past week as everyone was looking to make one final push.  It was interesting having the MLB trade deadline basically at the same time as our fantasy baseball trade deadline.  Those that traded for Luke Jackson might not have enjoyed that very much (although the way Shane Greene has pitched to start his Braves career, maybe he’ll get another shot) but I think it was exciting for everyone else.  There were plenty of closers exchanging hands this week with Felipe Vazquez seeming to get the most attention. Maybe because he had the fewest trade rumors swirling around him for a fairly reliable closer. Either way, we’ll break down a few of these trades and catch-up on two weeks worth of RCL data in the week that was, week 18.

Welcome back weekend DFSers!  I’m here for a back to back and I hope everyone had a profitable night last evening.  We’ve got a massive 13 game main FanDuel slate to tackle tonight and I can’t wait. It’s rare the Saturday main slate is larger than the Friday night slate, but that’s MLB’s scheduling for you.  Without further ado, let’s dive into my top pitching play of the night, Stephen Strasburg ($11,000).  I typically don’t love recommending a starting pitcher on the road as my top play, but I’ll make an exception tonight.  Strasburg will be facing off against the Diamondbacks in Arizona tonight. Grey pointed out the other day that post-humidor Chase Field is a pitcher’s paradise, ranking in the bottom third in Park Factors.  That would explain why the D-Backs are bottom third in team OPS at home as well. Combine that with Strasburg’s near 11 K/9, 2 BB/9 and his 2.93 FIP and I’d say we’re in for points aplenty!

Happy unofficial start to the weekend DFSers.  Richardo has started his weekend extra early (Wednesday) so I’m filling in this week.  I love playing the Friday night slates on FanDuel, they are usually jam packed with games and the more games, the more advantage I think I have on the field.  We’re getting a little short-changed tonight with only 12 games instead of the usual 15, but we’ll make due. For our cash game lineups tonight, you can’t help but build around Lance Lynn ($10,500).  If you had told me I’d be typing that sentence back in March, I’d have called you crumby with crackers.  There’s no denying Lynn has been phenomenal though, his 10 K/9 and 2 BB/9 is ace-like and his 2.94 FIP suggests his 3.83 ERA could even come down lower.  The Tigers on the other hand have been the opposite of phenomenal, they’ve been un-phenomenal. They rank ahead of only the Marlins in team OPS as well as team OPS vs. righties.  It’s ugly folks and Lynn is far and away your safest bet tonight.

Happy trade deadline week RCLers.  This is the final week you have to trade for some steals, saves, power or help out those pitching ratios with a big time name.  It’s at this point in the season that you can really see some overpaying going on. Javier Baez for Kirby Yates? Possibly. Nelson Cruz for Jarrod Dyson?  It all depends on team needs and where the most points can be gained. Remember, there are no extra points for winning a category by 50. Take a look at the overall standings in your league and see where teams are bunched together.  If there’s an opportunity to leap over multiple teams by taking a category by storm, make your move now. If you’re in second place right now, make that move for first, play to win, go out and make it happen. The Razzball Commenter League trading deadline is Thursday, August 1, at midnight (well, 11:59 technically).  I expect there will be a flurry of activity to break down for next week’s update. This week however, we have five trades to look at as well as a new leader in the ‘Perts League. Our favorite number cruncher, Rudy Gamble has taken the week off, so our update will be a little shorter this week with no Standings and/or stats to comb through.  Come read about what we do have to go over in the week that was, week 17 in the Razzball Commenter Leagues:

The trade deadline in the Razzball Commenter Leagues is fast approaching.  Thursday, August 1st is your deadline, which means by the time you’re reading this, you’ll have about one week to make your move(s).  Happy trading friends. I happen to be on vacation this week which means I’m not at work and happily enjoying some day drinking like my DFS buddy, Richardo last week.  Fear not though, I’m still here for my fellow RCLers, I won’t leave you hanging. We’ve got top ten updates, updates on the ‘Perts League, trades and our weekly leaders for the week that was, week 16.  Hopefully, without too many hiccups.

Happy weekend DFSers!  Today marks the first day of vacation for yours truly and I’ll be out today enjoying summer in Maine.  Summer in Maine is basically crazy humidity, lots of bugs and an ocean that will give you hyperthermia after about 10 minutes of standing in it.  Sounds great! I’ll be back tonight for some DFS though, gotta pay for vacation somehow. FanDuel has a 10 game slate for us tonight and I’ll be pumping plenty of lineups full of Luis Castillo ($10,500).  Expensive?  Yes, but he’s also your bet for a huge point total and that’s exactly what we’re looking for on FanDuel when you only have one pitching slot.  A 2.41 ERA and near 11 K-rate will do that for you. The Cards have been brutal, currently sporting a bottom six team OPS vs. righties and a bottom seven overall.  Lock and load with Saint Luis and enjoy your windfall.

We’ve just got a quick hitter this week for our Razzball Commenter League update.  With only three days in the previous week’s schedule thanks to the All Star Break, everything is abbreviated.  There weren’t a lot of changes, but there’s still some goodies to go over. Plenty of trades were made, especially in the ECFBL which made five swaps this past week.  We’ll also go over the weekly leaders for our little three day mini week and name a team of the week as well. It’s pretty impressive what teams can pull of in just three days.  Let’s jump into all the juicy data from our mini week that was, week 15:

Welcome back DFSers, hopefully the shakes have stopped for you now that DFS baseball is back in full swing.  Lucky for us, MLB has set up a sweet Saturday night schedule with 11 games going for the FanDuel Main Slate. It’s almost like a Friday night slate!  With a plethora of options we have more chances to beat our competition tonight. One way I’m looking to do so is locking Matthew Boyd ($10,100) into my lineups tonight.  I’ll be honest with you, I had a different intro written before pricing came out.  I just assumed that Boyd was going to the highest priced pitcher on the slate given his performance so far and his opponent tonight.  To my great surprise, he’s only the sixth highest priced pitcher. Can you say value? The Royals are bottom five in team OPS. Whenever I’m researching my lineups for the night I always take a peek at the team OPS standings.  The Royals are also 12th in the league in team strikeouts, which is always nice to see when picking a starter. I love Boyd’s value tonight and wouldn’t be surprised with another double digit strikeout performance. Let’s take a look at some more picks for the evening slate.

Happy All Star Break my fellow RCLers.  The Razzball Commenter Leagues can take a toll on your time, you social life and your personal hygiene.  I hope you’re using the break to take a shower, get out of your sweat pants and get reacquainted with your roommates, also known as, your family.  They’ve missed you. Spend a moment and remind them that you are in fact, alive and well. Show those that love you that you haven’t been lost in the wilderness for the past 14 weeks, being cared for by a pack of wolves.  In fact, you’ve just been winning fantasy baseball leagues. You know, just like your idol, Grey Albright, current ‘Perts League leader. Or, perhaps your idol might be the UpNorth, current Master Standings leader. Maybe you’re partial to your RCL Update host, currently in second place in the Master Standings with another team in eighth.  Or maybe you look up to Backdoor Splitters who just had one heck of a week to take the lead in ECFBL and charge to fifth in the Master Standings. Whomever it may be, hopefully you’re kicking butt just like them and getting ready to keep it up in the second half. Check out the current Master Standings and the rest of the All Star Break stats in the week that was, week 14:

Today is the last day of baseball before the three most dreaded words of the summer are uttered: All-Star break. It’s not all bad though, we get a tiny break from setting our season long lineups at least.  Still, there will be no moneies to be made for the next few days.  So, let’s be sure to enjoy our well-deserved rest, but push for one last score so we can soak it up while we rest.

We have eleven games on the FanDuel Main Slate today, let’s dive right in:

*Editor’s Note: I’m posting this for Nich today due to a scheduling conflict, so even though my name is up top, it’s his work*
