What is up party people? Feels like the injury bug has been extra hungry lately and you hate to see it. Steven Kwan has been a points league target of mine ever since he came to the majors and this was shaping up to be his best season yet. It’s still very early, but he was making a run at points league MVP. The expected recovery time is 4 weeks and if your team is in good shape I would absolutely look into trying to steal him away from the team that just lost his production. If he isn’t available, the wire offers some options who can help cover in the short term.

JJ Bleday – Top prospect, struggled in the big leagues, plays for the A’s. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Power has been in his repertoire, but batting average has not. When he gets on a run, he can rack up points in a hurry. Can’t trust him but if you had him on your roster, you loved it.

Michael Massey – His season numbers aren’t eye-popping but he has been having a good week. There’s talent there and if you find yourself in need of a replacement, he could just fill in for ya.

Luis Garcia – Playing time was the issue going into the season and unfortunately, he doesn’t quite have an everyday spot. He’s trending in the right direction and that’s good but I still think there is more to be had. So far this season he is hitting for a great average although his BABIP of .390 means it’s likely to come down a bit. Power hasn’t been his game so while it’s nice to see 3 through the first month, I would be surprised if he approaches 20. If the playing time holds and he keeps his average up as he did in the minors then there is some solid value to be had here.

Jo Adell – Took him quite a while but he’s finally starting to show off some of the power/speed combo that made him a top prospect. Jo is certainly no Mike Trout but with Michael sidelined indefinitely, regular at bats shouldn’t be an issue. The full breakdown of the new Jo, by Razzball’s very own Coolwhip, can be found here. I highly recommend checking it out. As for points leagues, the long and the short of it is that Adell has cut his Ks from as high as 40% to 26% this season. That’s quite the improvement and means he won’t rack up nearly as many negative point games. Hitting in the majors is hard and no matter how highly touted of a prospect you are the big leagues have a way of humbling you and it can take time to adjust. Well, it looks like Jo has adjusted. He may never be a high average guy, but he should have more than enough power to make up for that. If the rest of your league hasn’t taken notice of what he has shown so far and what he can do the rest of the season, grab him now and reap the rewards.

Jonny DeLuca – Talent isn’t the issue as he has shown over the past week but his playing time situation looks murky going forward. There’s not much major league experience to go on, but he showed solid power and average at his various stops in the minors. He also showed a sub 20 strikeout rate. So far that strikeout rate has held true in very limited big lead action. All in all, Jonny looks like a guy that I would be very eager to have on my squad. As it stands, I am very intrigued but I can’t fully recommend him unless I know that he will get the at bats. He has the versatility to play anywhere in the outfield which should help his case, especially while his bat is hot. Well worth a short term add or in deeper leagues to see how it plays out. He could be a great pickup if he sticks, just be aware the bottom could drop out.

Andy Pages – Anyone who can get regular at bats for the Dodgers is worthy of fantasy attention. Even better, he has taken full advantage of the opportunity, batting over .300 with 4 home runs. The power is real and with that cast around him could lead to big things.

As always find me here or on X for all your fantasy needs.

DeLuca or Jacob Young? Young was hot for a minute but the second I picked him up he stopped stealing bags and has 1 RBI and scored 4 runs. 3 of those are in 1 game. Is it time to move on from him? He’s been on my bench, I just snagged him because of the SB potential But I literally have gotten nothing from the last two weeks. I could pick up DeLuca and just hold them on my bench to see how it plays out. I could grab Tyler Black. I know he was just sent back down, but he was the answer to every question that Grey was asked. Or I could grab Kyle Gibson, who has 5 QS so far. I guess my question is is it time to move on from Young and who would be the best pick up for overall value? I have previously snagged Pages, Adell and Garcia So I feel like I’m following right along with you. As I’m keeping this, I realize that Pages and Adell are both CF So I don’t really need Young at all.
