Did anyone else watch the Opening Day action, blink, and then suddenly realize that we’re in May? I’ve been watching baseball and even I feel like games have flown by, maybe the pitch clock is getting to me more than I thought. The sample size still isn’t huge but it’s big enough to get an idea of who is who and what is what. I’ll toot my own horn when I’m right, but I like to think that I can also acknowledge my misses as well.  Anyhoo, let’s see who’s hot and what not. Mostly who’s hot. Oh wait, I always like to check out the hotties.

Wander Franco has been everything we hoped he could be and then some. I had him ranked just outside of my top 50 overall so clearly I thought he would be good but even I did not see this for him in points leagues. He is about to blow by his projected power numbers by a significant margin. Yep, you like everything that he’s been doing.

Marcus Semien is just what you want at second base. He’s been the hero we all need and is certainly living up to his draft position. No reason to think that he’ll suddenly forget how to hit the ball. Look for him to remain at the top of the leaderboard for the rest of the season.

Yandy Diaz was a guy I was all in on before the season but as I’ve said before, this is beyond my wildest dreams. The power he’s flashed has been straight up insane. We’re slightly over a month into the season and he already has 9 bombs. That’s beautiful. I think his buy window has slammed shut if it’s still cracked, see what you can do.

Sean Murphy has been a wonderful surprise at catcher. There is a stacked team around him and the power has been outstanding. As a beautiful bonus, he has paired that power with a batting average just shy of .300 and that’s an even more beautiful thing.

Adolis Garcia has felt a bit disappointing or maybe that’s just me. In reality, he’s actually been pretty darn good. His batting average is not the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen but that was never his strength. What he does do well is hit the ball a million miles. And he has been doing that. stay the course.

Cody Bellinger is he good again? It’s really looking that way and I am here for it. No, it’s not just because I drafted him for way too much in my NL only league. It looks like he’s rediscovered the stroke that made him a fantasy favorite. Am I ready to be hurt again, you betcha.

Vinnie Pasquantino has a very difficult name to spell. But once you get past that he can actually hit the baseball pretty well. Power, yes. Batting average, yeah that’s been pretty good as well.

Christian Walker is alive and I was starting to get worried. It took him long enough but he’s finally starting to put up points. He’s doing all the things we wanted him to do. I’m in, maybe see if you can buy for a discount from someone who doesn’t really think he can do his thing.

Jonathan India is here to stay, and you probably can’t grab him but if he is still on the wire you should make sure he isn’t. He has all the tools and maybe he finally figured it out.

Thairo Estrada has rapidly become one of my favorite players and he can be yours as well, I’m willing to share my love. I won’t pretend the Giants are a good team, but Thairo is excellent. He can hit for average with power and he has speed. I refuse to be talked out of him.
