Please see our player page for Andres Chaparro to see projections for today, the next 7 days and rest of season as well as stats and gamelogs designed with the fantasy baseball player in mind.

Howdy once again, Razzballers! I’m keeping the intro short, sweet, and analogy-free this weekend. We’ve entered the portion of the season for stat stuffing as playing time, availability, and matchups have become the most important considerations for transactions over the last two weeks. With that in mind, here are some of the most significant items […]

If I were running an MLB organization these past few weeks, I’d have been on the phone with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s agent in a fairly constant way, discussing long term contracts while I backchannel with the Blue Jays about his price tag on the trade market. It’s probably good that I’m not in that position. In dynasty leagues, I have a tendency to pay what it costs to make the move and figure out the rest in the aftermath. Major league teams do not agree with that approach, considering the lack of prospect firepower that changed organizations on deadline day. Baseball America ran a piece that said zero top 100 prospects were traded this time around. While we might be able to pick at the specifics a bit, the premise feels fair enough: this year brought us a strange few days of trades without many Named Guys making headlines.

Graduated from Stash List Volume 1: Skenes The Mountain: Paul Skenes (1), Christian Scott (6), Joey Loperfido (7), Kyle Manzardo (8)

Jackson Holliday is not on this list. One of the few rules I’ve implemented here is that once you’re a big leaguer in the current season, you’re off the list. Holliday cashed those major league game checks, so he won’t be represented here. Neither will Tyler Black even though I’m writing this part on a Friday and thinking about his namesake Rebecca.

1. Nationals OF James Wood | 21 | AAA

This is fun, huh? In Washington’s defense, Wood does seem to be making little leaps in his approach, and he is still young in the baseball sense. But the growth he’s made in a short time makes me feel like he’s going to be good right away, especially because he’ll bring the impact whenever he connects, even if he’s struggling to connect from time to time. By the way, this man is slashing .344/.443/.552 with five homers and nine steals.

Graduated from Stash List Volume 2: The First Strand: Matt Mervis, Brandon Pfaadt, Gavin Stone, Christopher Morel. Just a refresher or if it’s your first season with us: Players like Jordan Walker and Taj Bradley are ineligible for the stash list because anyone who has already been promoted in-season is ineligible. Guys like Christophper Morel […]

Athletics 2B Jordan Diaz homered three times on Tuesday. Something’s in the water out there. Don’t turn your nose up at any Oakland players finding daylight, is all I’m saying. The jokes at this organization’s expense are all warranted, but the people piloting that ship have been so good at this game for so long, somebody should write a book about it.

Mets SS Ronny Mauricio started at second base Friday night in Triple-A. He’ll have to find somewhere other than Francisco Lindor’s position if he wants to start in New York. He went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts, dropping his slash line to .343/.395/.729 on the season heading into Saturday’s games. If New York can head into the off-season with major league regulars in Brett Baty, Francisco Alvarez and Mauricio, they’ll have some extra cash to flash in the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes.

The Los Angeles Angels are calling up 2022 first-round pick SS Zach Neto, and baseball feels new all over again. Not just because of Neto, of course, but the whole paradigm of our game is shifting so quickly it’s easy to get excited. We could make a case that the Angels NEED to contend this year more than any other team. If not, Ohtani is as good as gone. He’s probably gone anyway, but that’s no way to go about your life. He picked Los Angeles from the beginning, he’s been incredible there, they’ve gotta be in the running until the final decision is made. For his part, Neto was slashing .444/.559/.819 with three home runs and three stolen bases in seven games. He’s a pick-up in all but the shallowest formats.
