AdamH (Sleeve of Wizard — RCL 43), Schmo Hawks — Beef SAGNOF! and Pliny the Elder — Myrtle’s Acres all made jumps this week, joining Beardcrabs (The Gaylords — Conshellation Prize) and Higgins (Gobias Industries — Cust Kayin’) in the 2nd half of the top 10. La Flama Blanca (RCL 4), who had dropped far down the standings in recent weeks, rebounded with a 19-point gain, moving up 211 spots to 136th. Royce’s Original Recipe team, That’s Not Very Maybin, and Team bjorklund (The Dread Pirate Returns) made nice gains into the top 20, at 15th and 18th respectively.
The ECFBL continues to hold a 2-point lead over everyone else in the League Competitive Index. But, being champion of the toughest league may have to be its own reward, as it is difficult to score enough points to match some of the other league leaders. Current pacesetter Chris (Retro Vertigo) is in 17th, 13 points back.
Expert League: Ryan Carey (Mastersball Carey) held on to first for another week, a mere 2 points ahead of Dalton Del Don (RotoWire Del Don), who rode the top pitching staff of the week to knock 14.5 points off Ryan’s lead. DDD finished the week with 7 wins, 9 saves, and 74 strikeouts, with an ERA of 1.45 and 0.79 WHIP. Stephen Strasburg, Matt Moore, Jordan Zimmermann, Derek Holland, A.J. Burnett, Jeff Samardzija, and Kyle Lohse all had WHIPs of 1.00 or better, while Aroldis Chapman added 4 saves and 8 Ks in 4 scoreless innings. Rudy had a nice offensive week and moved back into third place. His team hit .304 with 54 runs, 8 steals, 19 home runs and 51 RBI. Grey’s most impressive stat this week was a 2.59 ERA thanks to Ryan Vogelsong, Ben Sheets, and the benching of Anibal Sanchez in his AL debut..
Trades: There were 14 trades completed this week, bringing the RCL total to 233. As has been the case all season, people were willing to pay for closers. Josh Willingham was dealt for Craig Kimbrel, Joel Hanrahan netted Brett Lawrie, Emilio Bonifacio and CC Sabathia were traded for Chris Perez and Ernesto Frieri (along with Lance Berkman), and Alex Rios was exchanged for Aroldis Chapman. Robinson Cano, Prince Fielder, Curtis Granderson, Andrew McCutchen, Justin Verlander, and Miguel Cabrera were also sent packing this week. You can find all the trades in the fantasy baseball forums. Drew Stubbs (.370/9 Runs/3 HR/10 RBI/3 SB) ended a long slump, and Billy Butler (.458/6 RBI) continued his career season to pace Wake Up’s team. Hanley (.320/8 RBI) and Aramis Ramirez (.417/6 RBI) also had fine weeks.

LB have used only 77 starts, and are hoping to trade some closers for starters to join Justin Verlander and Ben Sheets for the stretch run.
