Oh glorious day when Tyler O’Neill, the King In The North, is called up, and we just-so-happen, to be scheduled to do our Cardinals show. Sometimes life works out, what can I say. Lance and I start the show talking about some of the forth-coming call-ups, and who we think will get the call first between Ronald Acuna, Gleyber Torres, Nick Senzel, and Michael Kopech. We then briefly touch on some early 2018 MLB Draft talk, before jumping right into the St.Louis Cardinals Top Prospects for 2018. Lance lets me rant about Tyler O’Neill for 27 minutes straight before jumping in on Jack Flaherty, Andrew Knizner, Jose Adolis Garcia, Carson Kelly, and a little Max Schrock talk. Would I be absolutely crazy to trade Altuve straight up for Vlady? I have Moncada to be my 2B of the future, and just think the extra 8 years of Vlady would be worth the wait. I am a competing Top 5 team in my 20 team league now, but I have a lot of depth to still compete with the hope of Vlady being up in time for Fantasy playoffs in September. Thanks for all your guys hard work, great podcast as always

@Richard Davis: I wouldn’t, you need to get more than that.

I have T Williams And Pivetta starting Sunday against each other– whats the general consensus in starting opposing pitchers? I assume I’ll have to sit one. Which one?

    • Ralph Lifshitz

@Nathan: Depends what you need. It’s not like two starters haven’t had good starts against each other.

    Teoscar or Puig in dynasty?

      @David: Puig.

Everytime I see Cardinals outfield prospects, I get brain aneurysms just thinking about the awfulness of Grichuk and Piscotty. Young guys, came up, looked like all-stars and then traded 3 years late for inconsistency and suckitude!

I was watching the Giants game last night and and Mac Williamson impressed the heck out of me. Then he comes up last night and hits an opposite field shot that was 114 mph opposite field home run! Then watched a bit of Giants minor league players HIGHLIGHTS and did some reading about his new swing. I any input of anything you know about Mac?

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Mark: Yeah, you kind of summed it up, swing change guy, he’s always had power, looks like he’s got a shot.

Yeah, I mean, Tommy Pham is pretty good. Seems pretty silly to think completely different people are the same due to the laundry.

      • Mark says:
        (link)

        @Ralph Lifshitz:
I guess long story short Mac has power and keep my eyes peeled. I guess in deep leagues….i wondered if it was time to react. While people target Nimmo and Teoscar Hernandez, a guy like Mac might be better right now amass foreseeable future due to playing time and opportunity?

I guess you’re right from Stl, but seeing Grichuk and Piscotty, Tyler O neal just reminds me of them both.

          Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Mark: If you learn anything from me it’s this. Tyler O’Neill is a significantly better prospect than either. I’m actually shocked you read me and think that. I’ve been fighting that perception for 2 years.

Drop Holland, Middleton, or Boxberger for Giles?

    • Ralph Lifshitz

@T Buns: Right now it seems like Holland, but I’m not sure that holds true in three weeks.

  6. Richard Davis says:

@Ralph Lifshitz: Thanks. I figured that, I just get a little to prospect happy sometimes, and Vlad is just my crush right now(i know, get in line). How about Florial for Soto straight up? Or am I just being a prisoner of the moment with Soto’s hot start and Florial’s cold start? Again, thanks for all your hard work and answering questions

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Richard Davis: I’d take Soto over Florial. Do that deal.

    Hey Ralph,

You guys are so great together. And there’s very little fat on the bone. Love how much info you guys pack into a short amount of time. It’s almost like you realize we have lives!

I picked up Lourdes Gurriel last night. Any chance he sticks and keeps up what he was doing in Double-A? If he were a prospect, where would you slot him on your 100 Prospects List?

If you had to pick one, would you rather have Lourdes or Andujar (just for overall production in roto) as your Util this year?

    Thanks very much!

@GrassyKnollRedding: Hahaha thanks man! You have lives and we don’t! LOL! That’s our tagline!

Lourdes is a prospect and I had him more toward the back of my Top 200. Then I saw him in Hartford a few weeks back. He looks like a good MLB player to me. Perhaps he was just shaking off some of the rust the last year. We forget that happens with these Cuba guys going through the signing process.

Good swing, fluid athlete, great at bats, waits for his pitch. I’m buying.

        Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Ralph Lifshitz: I’m still going Andujar by a lot.

  8. Marti says:

Thoughts on a few players. Garrett Hampson is off to a great start for Colorado any chance he makes the big leagues this year and how about Austin Riley for Atlanta. Is he the future of third baseman for that team and if so when and final question when is Ronald Acuna being called up I know he’s off to a slow start but Talent is still Talent

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Marti: I love Riley and always have. I think he’s going to push for a call-up this year. Not sure how the Bautista thing plays out, but if they’re hanging around come July, they gotta give Riley a look.

Hampson is a solid player, I watched him a few weeks ago in Hartford. He’s fringe as an everyday guy for me. Might be a really good utility player though.

    Ralph, enjoy reading your posts.

This isn’t a question about prospects, but would appreciate your feedback anyway. There are three possible trades in play where I trade:

    Quintana and Weaver for Cole
Quintana and Weaver for Strasburg (yearly DL stints concern me)
Marcell Ozuna and Weaver for Judge

My current SP are Klub, Sevy, Bauer, Godley, Corbin, Q and Weaver
Current OF are Trout, Ozuna, Springer, Bux, Pollock and Acuna

Which deal do you like most or do I hold?

    • Launch Angle says:

In standard, season-long 5×5 roto league.

      • Ralph Lifshitz

        Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Launch Angle: Do the Judge deal. Seems like a nice Upgrade

        • Launch Angle says:
          (link)

The other team wants Ozuna, Weaver and Acuna for Judge. Too much? Counter with Buxton in place of Acuna instead or still too much and I should walk away?

            @Launch Angle: yeah try that

    My SPs:

    Syndergaard
    Severino
    Price
    Weaver
    Godley
    Richards
    Shark
    Pivetta

Trade Severino for Dozier? Chris Taylor my current 2B. Trade analyzer says yes (OBP league)
