The preview season is upon us, and we’re kicking it off with the Diamondbacks and Orioles. Lower case yay… On their own these are two relativity boring systems, but combined they create a super system, still less exciting than next week’s topic the Braves. Another lower case yay. Lance and I kick off the show with some discussion of the Dee Gordon trade, the prospects headed the Marlins way. We touch on Kevin Maitan signing with the Angels, and some other “hot stove” news, before delving into discussions of Jon Duplantier’s mechanics, Ryan Mountcatle’s leg kick, and how good Austin Hays really is. Finally, please make sure to support our sponsor by heading over to RotoWear.com and entering promo code “SAGNOF” for 15% off the highest quality t-shirts in the fantasy sports game. I miss Halp, but I’m diggin’ you guys working together. Good work! I really enjoy that your perspectives differ and you each have sound logic and talk about in-depth. So, thank you for that.
Question(s) for both of you, Ralph and Lance:
In a dynasty league with contracts and a salary cap, I want to improve at DH from LoMo to Cruz. Cruz’s owner is interested in one of my: Gleyber, Tatis Jr. or Bichette. I feel like Bichette is the guy to package.
I also own Otani so maybe this trade is stupid, but I’m skeptical of Otani’s production.
Other info:
-defense and BB are scoring categories.
-H2H each cat is a win
-150-180 Minor leaguers owned (19 active, 6 reserve, unlimited DL, 15Minor, 40 man total rosters)

1. Should I make a move for Cruz or rely on a combination of LoMo and Otani (or possibly just Otani)

2. Is Bichette the guy to move if going for Cruz? Or hold onto all 3 in case of injury or a better deal down the road?

@Dougie:
Thanks Dougie!

1 – I’d rely on LoMo and Ohtani. Shipping a top 20 prospect to get from LoMo to an old Cruz isn’t worth it to me.

2 – I wouldn’t likely move Bichette, but yes, of those three he’ll likely be the lowest on my eventual top 100.

Dugger is not even close to the #7 prospect in Seattles system (or was). He is the lottery ticket. Torres was #10 and Neidert was #4 or #5.

@Shawn McLaughlin:
I think that’s my fault Shawn! I mixed Duggar and Torres up, good catch

Hi Ralph: As a NL guy, I have couple question on the AZ Players. I had asked you recently about Duplantier. I am considering him for my team short on pitching. What kind of stuff does he throw? FB speed? Will he be ready for a rotation spot by the end of the year?

I heard your debate on Yerzy and Varsho. I like their bats, but they both have the question of if they are going to stick and C. I am going to stick with Ruiz behind the plate. He is a good defender and a up and coming bat (switch- hitter). What are the chances of Varsho at 2B? I would love his bat at 2B.

Ralph, do you an e-mail where I can contact you directly ? I am not on tweeter and that is over the air anyway. If you don’t want to post it here, you contact me directly as you do have mine on file.

Thanks, Jose
