Welcome to the first week of corner infield things with actual game data! It’s a fun time of year. No need to worry about slow starts yet, and many hot starts to go through. There are a couple of rookies who are adding a dash of excitement to the mix. Here we go! Nah, wait, […]

Andrew Painter ( 5 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 8 Ks) aka the prospect pitcher who I was interested in so long ago that I honestly just stopped caring about him aka Andy Dutchboy aka will Zack Wheeler knock him out of the rotation when he returns aka A. Painter of corners aka he […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Isn’t fantasy baseball fun? Oh, you drafted Paul Skenes, Logan Webb, Nick Pivetta, and Nathan Eovaldi? Well, pack it up, the season’s over. I kid, I kid, it’s one start, you’ll be fine. In the meantime, pony up to the stream-o-nator and grab a streamer to balance things out (hopefully). Five days isn’t quite enough […]

Please, blog, may I have some more?We have half a week of MLB games under our belt, it’s high time to take victory laps on all those picks we got right. Well, unless you are like me and don’t want to upset the Karma Gods. Anyone I have a lot of shares of that came blazing out of the gate is […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The robot umps have infiltrated baseball and Grey is in love. The first-ever robot ump-related ejection was everything we wanted. There are several names in the top ten of the Razzball player rater putting up jaw-dropping slash lines through the first week of the fantasy baseball season. Plus, there are a bunch of rookies that […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Lance McCullers Jr. (7 IP, 1 ER, 5 baserunners, 9 Ks) was once in a rotation with Scott Kazmir. Actually, that Astros team with Kazmir had Altuve and Correa too. Don’t forget Marisnick. He was there too. How could you forget *nick? Now, in 2026, leading the AL Cy Young conversation is Lance McCullers. Sure, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! ‘Tis the season for overreactions! Yes, the sample size for ALL of our statistics is tinier than Jose Altuve’s shower cap. But does that mean we should ignore everything from the opening weekend of MLB games? Maybe not. But let’s remember that you drafted your pitching staff for a reason. There […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The reality, of course, is that 3 or 4 days is such a small percentage of a 6 month season that, barring some significant injury that happens during the first weekend, come September we likely won’t remember those things now causing us such angst. And the same goes for our early-season successes – if you look hard enough, you’ll probably find your team also has players off to a great start. But as with bad play, good play over such a small sample is quite likely meaningless in the long run.
Please, blog, may I have some more? Now that the season has begun, the question turns to what to do in this space each week. At least once a month, I will provide an update on how I rank guys across the various positions. But as we are just a few days into the season, it seems a bit soon to do […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Eleven years ago, I wrote, “The Rockies made official what seemed inevitable for the last week, Trevor Story will be the starting shortstop in Colorado. As a visiting dignitary gets a key to the city, Story earned the shortstop job and was handed one of Tulo’s old hamstrings. ‘May your hamstrings stay forever young.’ That’s […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? While we’ve leaned into robot references with the tools from the beginning, the Razzball brand persona from the start has always been more human: The guy in your home league who makes you laugh and actually knows what they are doing. The tools have historically focused on the latter (it’s a bad sign if people […]
