The Atlanta Braves’ Mike Soroka enters Monday sporting a 1.92 ERA. While he’s not a strikeout pitcher, the Braves’ hurler is in a great spot to carry your FanDuel lineup to the money line. He owns a 57% ground ball rate, so he does not allow many long balls. In fact, he has a 0.26 HR/9. His strikeouts should see an uptick in this one, as the Mets strikeout in 23.2% of their at-bats against righties. New York has also demonstrated little power against right-handed pitching with a weak .167 ISO versus them. The Mets also have struggled with ground ball pitchers this season. J.D. Davis has the highest batting average among the regulars against ground ball pitchers, hitting .275 with a .870 OPS against these type of hurlers. Soroka should be in contention for SP1 on Monday.

Kenta Maeda, SP: $8,600 – The Dodgers’ pitcher is in a nice spot to hit value, while also allowing you to spend up on some bats. Maeda has a very respectable 3.89 ERA this season with a 25.3% K, which is sixth-highest on the slate. He will face a Giants’ offense that strikes out 23.5% of the time against right-handed pitching. San Francisco also has not shown much power against righties with a non-threatening .158 ISO. With the sportsbooks making the Dodgers’ -250 favorites, You should be confident in Maeda’s ability to pick up the win bonus on FanDuel.
Freddie Freeman, C/1B: $4,400 – While BvP can be deceiving sometimes, Freddie Freeman owns the Mets’ Zack Wheeler. In 20 at-bats against the New York starter, Freeman has 10 hits. Five were for extra bases, two went yard. He also has been walked 12 times by Wheeler in his career. All in all, Freeman owns a .500/.667/.950 slash line in his career versus Wheeler.
Matt Adams, C/1B: $2,600 – The Nationals’ first baseman has raked against right-handed pitching in 2019. Adams has a .237 ISO versus them. He also comes into this game red hot as he has three home runs in his last two games. The hot streak should continue in this one. Not only is the Phillies’ Jake Arrieta allowing 2.39 HR/9 to lefties this season, but also Adams has dominated Arrieta in the past. In 25 career at-bats against the Phillies’ starter, Adams has a 1.027 OPS.
Brandon Lowe, 2B: $3,400 – The Rays’ Lowe has been outstanding against right-handed pitching. He has a .274 ISO and a .378 wOBA against them. He should continue to be outstanding on Monday. The Yankees’ Tanaka is allowing a .353 wOBA and 1.73 HR/9 to left-handed batters this season.
Matt Chapman, 3B: $3,800 – The Orioles’ Andrew Cashner has gotten bludgeoned by right-handed batters all season long. He owns a .374 wOBA, a 42.5% hard contact rate, and a 2.45 HR/9 versus them. Chapman is set up to do very well on Monday.
Francisco Lindor, SS: $4,100 – Lindor has a .241 ISO and a .377 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Getting to hit in the Texas’ weather should do nothing to slow down the shortstop.
Trea Turner, SS: $4,300 – The Nationals’ shortstop has a .287 ISO and a .372 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. And look for Turner to steal some bases when he gets on. The Phillies’ Jake Arrieta has allowed the sixth-most stolen bases among starting pitchers this season.
Mike Trout, OF: $4,600 – The world’s best baseball player gets to face the Blue Jays’ Edwin Jackson. Toronto’s pitcher has a 5.41 SIERA and a 5.91 xFIP on the year. Look for Trout to take advantage of the situation as he has a .300 ISO, .416 wOBA and a 169 wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season.
Shohei Ohtani, OF: $3,800 – Ohtani has done really well against right-handed pitching this season. He has a .220 ISO and a .396 wOBA versus them. That success should carry right on through today. Toronto’s Edwin Jackson is allowing a .300/.364/.500 slash line to lefties this season.
Cody Bellinger, OF: $4,700 – The Giants’ Tyler Beede has been a dumpster fire against lefties this season. He has allowed a .472 wOBA and 3.52 HR/9 to them. This plays right to the strength of Bellinger. The Dodgers’ slugger has a .333 ISO and a .462 wOBA versus righties in 2019.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
It looks like the weather could play a factor on Monday. There are several games that are at risk of getting some rain with precipitation expected in New York, Washington D.C., Cincinnati and St. Louis. Be sure to check the forecast for these games closer to lock.
Also, note that the temperature will be in the 90s in Texas on Monday, which is great for hitters. The ball should be flying for the Cleveland Indians/Texas Rangers matchup.
Doing Lines In Vegas
The Dodgers’ 4.5 team total seems low. The Dodgers’ offense owns a .210 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season. Add that to the fact that Tyler Beede owns an 8.06 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched, it is hard to see a path that doesn’t lead to the Dodgers scoring lots of runs in this one.
