When playing DFS and the slate has a game at Coors Field, DFS players on Fanduel have a decision to make. Do they be contrarian and fade the thin Colorado air, or do they chase the chalk up the Rocky Mountains? If there was a time to pass on loading up on a Coors’ game, it might be today.

Both pitchers scheduled to pitch in this one have been fairly successful in Colorado. The Braves’ Julio Teheran has pitched in Coors’ Field four times and has yet to allow a home run. In fact, he has held the Rockies to just a .313 OBP, .348 SLG and a .661 OPS in these four appearances.

And for the home team, Kyle Freeland has been very successful in Colorado. He had a 2.40 home ERA in 2018, while limiting opposing teams to a .226/.298/.393 slash line in those games.

When building cash lineups you may want to pluck a few Braves and Rockies. But for GPPs, fading Monday’s game could give you an edge on the competition.

Justin Verlander, SP: $10,700 – Houston opened up as a -165 favorite in Vegas for good reason. Verlander has dominated this current Yankees’ lineup. In 63 at-bats he has held them to a .190/.249/.283 with 20 strikeouts.

Hyun-Jin Ryu, SP: $9,400 – It is not the biggest of sample sizes, but the Cardinals have struggled against the lefties in 2019. Against southpaws, St. Louis owns a .091 batting average.

Buster Posey, C: $2,500 – In 2018, Posey recorded a .361 wOBA versus lefties.

Yasmani Grandal, C: $3,200 – The Brewers’ backstop has reached base seven time in 16 plate appearances against the Angels’ Trevor Cahill.

Paul Goldschmidt, 1B: $4,200 – Goldy has caused fits for the Dodgers’ Hyun-Jin Ryu in his career. The Cardinals’ first baseman is 11-for-26 lifetime against him, with six extra base hits.

Rhys Hoskins, 1B: $4,600 – Hoskins has crushed right-handed pitching so far this season. He owns a 1.200 OPS against them in the early going of the 2019 campaign.

Mike Moustakas, 2B: $3,200 – The Brewers’ second baseman has done damage against righties with a .379 wOBA and a 124 wRC+.

Enrique Hernandez, 2B: $3,600- The Cardinals’ Mikolas is getting hit hard by everyone so far this season. He is allowing right-handed batters to mash with a 45% hard contact rate in 2019. Look for Kiki to hit a few hard as he owns a .500 ISO versus righties this year.

Matt Chapman, 3B: $3,700 – So far in 2019 the Orioles’ Andrew Cashner is allowing a .333 batting average to righties. Look for Matt Chapman to do his best to make that number increase. He owns a 1.088 OPS and .208 ISO against righties in 2019.

Ryon Healy, 3B: $3,900 – The Mariners’ third baseman is averaging double digit FanDuel points this season. No reason to think he hurts his average in this one against Homerun Bailey. Healy has a .950 OPS versus righties this season.

Tim Beckham, SS: $3,800 – Beckham’s .464 wOBA against righties in 2019 should play well against the Royals’ Bailey.

Carlos Correa, SS: $3,500 – Correa is 5-for-13 with two dingers in his career against the Yankees’ Masahiro Tanaka.

Cody Bellinger, OF: $4,700 – Bellinger is in a nice spot for Monday. Not only is the Cardinals’ Mikolas getting hit hard by lefties (41.2% hard contact rate) but he is also raking against right-handed pitching. He has a 1.083 SLG against righties this season.

Christian Yelich, OF: $5,000 – The reigning MVP continues to dominate opposing pitchers. Nothing should change that on Monday as he faces a right-handed pitcher in Trevor Cahill. Yelich has a .500 ISO against righties in 2019.

Domingo Santana, OF: $4,100 – The outfielder’s .371 ISO against right-handed pitching makes him a prime target to pick on Homer Bailey with.

Trey Mancini, OF: $3,600 – The Baltimore outfielder is a great DFS option on Monday. Mancini has seen the ball real well against righties so far this season. He has a .364 batting average and six extra-base hits against them in 33 at-bats this season. The outfielder also faces Oakland’s Estrada, who has struggled with righties. In 2018 he allowed a .389 wOBA to them. So far this season he is giving up a 44.4% hard contact rate to right-handed batters.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Small chance of some rain in San Francisco. But nothing major appears to be on the radar for Monday.
