Welcome to Thursday, we’ve got a short slate today as usual, with only 8 games. – It feels strange to keep featuring Jose Ramirez (3B: $3,300) here but… that price. Seems it hasn’t quite caught up to his recent surge. Don’t forget that he was one of the best fantasy players in the league not all that long ago. The way he’s been playing he’s worth top dollar but right now you don’t have to pay it. Sounds like a great deal to me, especially with the limited options today.

Matthew Boyd, SP: $10,400 – Oh boy, is this matchup juicy. The Royals are a lower tier offense and Adalberto Mondesi is still on the shelf. His last three starts have been strong and he should keep it rolling.

Madison Bumgarner, SP: $8,600 – MadBum is back baby! He’s still a Giant and gets to continue enjoying the pitcher friendly confines of Oracle Park. That’s where he’ll be today. The Phillies are a middle of the pack offense, and have some sluggers, but The Bay neutralizes all but the best. That and Bum has been on a roll of late, minus his start in Colorado. I think we can forgive him that one and roll with him today.

Jon Gray, SP: $7,900 – Gray is a guy who’s always had the talent and has even flashed it. Unfortunately, he calls Coors home and as we all know, that place is very unfriendly for pitchers. Good news though for today, he’ll be at the pet shop. San Diego, in addition to being a beautiful city with an impressive craft beer scene, is pitcher friendly. The Padres offense is solid but unspectacular. Gray is a great option for those of you looking to save some cash on the mound.

Carlos Santana, 1B: $3,700 – Boy the Tribe have really turned things around and Santana has been powering it. Even as his average has dropped recently, he’s still been crushing the ball. The bot is a fan so fire him up.

Christian Vazquez, C: $2,700 – Pickings are slim today with the short slate so let’s dive deep and take a look at a guy in the squat. He’s the bot’s top ranked backstop. Yes, I know that doesn’t necessarily mean much given the state of the position but for the price, I think you could do a lot worse.

Michael Chavis, 2B: $3,000 – He just got a day off so he should be nice and rested for us today. He’s been turning in a great season even as the Sox have stumbled. Get him.

Luis Arraez, 2B: $2,700 – The rookie has been hitting and hitting for the surprising Twins. His slash line has been impressive although sadly he’s basically been an average guy with no power or speed to speak of. That’s a shame but he can still be an asset for you today.

DJ LeMahieu, 3B: $4,100 – He just keeps on chugging. Besides his eye popping average (well over .330) he’s already set a career high in home runs. He could even be an MVP candidate. That’s the kind of player you want.

Xander Bogaerts, SS: $3,900 – Our options are limited today so pay up for the best option today according to the bot. He’s done nothing but rack up the stats this stats this season. He also just got a day off so there shouldn’t be any concerns about him playing every game since July.

Andrew Benintendi, OF: $3,800 – The Sox may be fading in the playoff race but it’s not Andrew’s fault at the plate. He just keeps on doing his thing. He’s even stepped it up recently. Vegas likes this one to be a high scoring affair so get him in your lineup.

Nick Senzel, OF: $3,000 – Seems like vertigo is the only thing that can stop him. That’s no laughing matter, but as long as he’s good to go he should be in your lineup. He also thinks Mike Trout is “pretty good” so he knows what’s up.

Franmil Reyes, OF: $2,700 – The bot is in on him today even if the recent stats don’t look too kind. One swing is all he needs to really make your day. He also gets the bonus of playing for an AL team, so there’s an extra spot in the batting order for him.

Ian Happ, OF: $2,500 – Apparently all that time in the minors helped him find his swing and he’s tearing the cover off the ball since being called up. So far he’s kept his strikeouts in check and that’s great news for us.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

The weather looks mostly sunny all around today. Some minor rain could be in the cards at Fenway and the Great American Ballpark (also Marlins Park, but they can just close the roof) As always, it’s never a bad idea to keep an eye on the weather as you set your lineups since it can and does change.

Doing Lines In Vegas

We’ve got more 10s today and that’s just what we want to see. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good old fashioned pitchers duel but fireworks are great for fantasy.
