The five-game FanDuel main slate does not have a lot to offer in terms of big-time pitchers. But you have to start someone at the position in your FanDuel lineup. The Padres’ Logan Allen ($9,300) should be at the top of your short list of possible pitchers. The young left-hander has been solid in his limited MLB work this season. Allen has a 1.38 ERA. While there is some regression coming for the southpaw, this is a solid matchup for Allen. The Giants’ lineup really struggles with left-handed pitching. As an offensive unit, San Francisco has a .114 ISO, .267 wOBA and a 64 wRC+ against them. The Giants are also striking out at a 24.3% against lefties in 2019. It certainly doesn’t hurt that this game will take place in San Francisco, which is a pitcher’s park. Allen certainly appears to be a safe play on Monday, which on this slate should be good enough.

Ryan Yarbrough, SP: $6,600 – This one will take some stones, but this slate doesn’t offer many viable options. Yarbrough will not start for the Rays but is expected to come in after the opener. And while the relievers numbers aren’t anything to write home about, the matchup with the Orioles and the likelihood of the win bonus are. Baltimore has 25.6% K rate and a low .154 ISO versus lefties this season.
Yasmani Grandal, C/1B: $3,600 – The Reds’ Tyler Mahle has struggled with left-handed bats this season. He is allowing a .371 wOBA and 2.86 HR/9 to lefties in 2019, while Grandal has a .258 ISO and a .375 wOBA versus righties. Look for Grandal to put up monster DFS points on Monday.
Anthony Rizzo, C/1B: $4,100 – Rizzo has excellent numbers against right-handed pitching this season. He has a .272 wOBA and a .400 ISO. Plus the Pirates’ Trevor Williams throws a fastball 55% of the time. Rizzo has a .287 ISO against the heater in 2019.
Mike Moustakas, 2B: $3,700 – The Reds’ Tyler Mahle owns a .522 xFIP against left-handed bats. Moose has a .286 ISO and a .376 wOBA versus righties in 2019. Sounds like a perfect night for Moustakas to carry your FanDuel lineup.
Brandon Lowe, 2B: $3,600 – This game is shaping up to be one that the Orioles’ bullpen will have to heavily involved in. And that’s a good thing for Brandon Lowe. The Baltimore pen has the second worst ERA (6.06) in all of MLB, and is allowing a league-high .275 batting average.
Eugenio Suarez, 3B: $3,200 – In Suarez’s last five games he has produced three extra-base hits. With it likely that Milwaukee will use a bullpen day on Monday, Suarez has a good chance to hit a few more extra-base hits in this one.
Manny Machado, 3B: $4,200 – In 13 of his last 15 games, Machado has scored at least 10 FanDuel points. Look for the third baseman to hit double-digits again tonight. Machado owns Jeff Samardzija. The Padre is 5-for-11 with three extra-base hits (two of which were home runs) against the Giants’ righty.
Javier Baez, SS: $3,900 – The Cubs’ shortstop has done just fine against righties this season so no reason to expect much different tonight. Baez has a .242 ISO and a .340 wOBA against right-handed pitching in 2019.
Fernando Tatis Jr., SS: $4,300 – The young Padres’ star should shine in this one. Tatis has a .297 ISO and a .342 wOBA versus right-handed pitching this season. While Jeff Samardzija is allowing a 43.8% hard contact rate to righties in 2019.
Christian Yelich, OF: $4,800 – Yelich has crushed right-handed pitching all season long with a .395 ISO and a .476 wOBA. Don’t expect much to change tonight. The Reds’ Tyler Mahle throws a four-seam fastball on 60% of his pitches. He also allowed a .357 wOBA on the pitch. And of course, Yelich destroys fastballs. He has a .366 batting average and a .753 slugging against the pitch in 2019. Yelich gets a hold of one tonight!
Joey Gallo, OF: $4,300 – In his last six games, Gallo is 7-for-19 with three home runs. His hot streak is sure to continue tonight. Do not be scared of a little lefty-on-left crime. Gallo has a .390 ISO and a .441 wOBA versus lefties this season. Plus the Angels’ Jose Suarez is allowing a .369 wOBA, 45.8% hard contact rate and 2.16 HR/9 to lefties this season. And just in case you needed more convincing, Suarez throws a fastball 47% of the time. On that pitch, he is allowing a .461 wOBA. While Gallo owns a .493 ISO against that particular pitch type.
Kyle Schwarber, OF: $3,600 – As was noted above, the Pirates’ Trevor Williams throws his fastball a lot. That should play right into the hands of Schwarber. The Cubs’ outfielder has a .301 ISO against the fastball in 2019, with nine of his 17 dingers coming against the pitch.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
The weather doesn’t look like it will be a huge factor tonight. But there is a small chance of rain in Cincinnati that you will want to keep an eye on. Be sure to give it a look prior to lock. Also, expect some big-time heat there at the Great American Ballpark as the temps are going to be in the 90s. This is a plus situation for the bats. It will also hit the 90-degree mark in Texas, so give a bump to the Angels and Rangers’ bats on Monday.
Doing Lines In Vegas
The Milwaukee Brewers’ team total opened at 4.5 runs. If you can still get it, I would grab that number.
