It is Thursday, June 30th meaning we are in for a small main slate of just five games tonight! Sometimes there are only three or so, so in comparison, this is a decent-sized small slate ha! The pitching tonight is not great, making some mediocre pitchers look good. Yusei KikuchiKyle Hendricks, and Jason Alexander are all guys I want to stack against. If I was playing on DraftKings, I don’t know if I could find a second pitcher I want to roster tonight. Joe Musgrove is good but do I want to roster him against the Dodgers? Logan Gilbert against Oakland is the only good pitcher and good matchup on this slate.  Fortunately, this is about FanDuel and we only have to choose one pitcher. Whew! Want to read more picks? Let’s go!

Logan Gilbert, SP: $10,400 – Joe Musgrove has the best SIERA on the slate but is pitching to the Dodgers in a game where the wind is blowing out. Sure he can dominate them, and he is a high-priced pitcher to consider in tournaments. For me, I prefer Logan Gilbert tonight. He has the second-lowest SIERA, a 24.9% strikeout rate, and a 7% walk rate. Against right-handed pitching (RHP), Oakland has the seventh-highest strikeout rate (23.8%). Their ISO against RHP is 29th (.112) and their wOBA is tied for last with Detroit at .262.

JT Brubaker, SP: $8,800 – If needing some salary relief at SP, I like JT Brubaker. This is a slate where there are not a ton of viable pitching options. Anyway, Brubaker has a 4.16 SIERA, a 22% strikeout rate, and a 9% walk rate. Milwaukee is tied with Oakland in strikeout rate against RHP. They do have the seventh-highest wOBA and third-highest ISO against RHP, so they can do some damage here. Milwaukee has the worst starting pitcher on the slate going, so if Brubaker outpitches him, he could be in line for a win.

Mitch White, SP: $6,700 – If looking to just punt, Mitch can also be considered. San Diego has the fifth-lowest ISO and 20th-highest wOBA against RHP this season. White won’t get you a quality start and is going against Musgrove on the other side of the game, so the win is in doubt too which is important on FanDuel.

Daniel Vogelbach, C/1B: $2,700 – Jason Alexander has a 5.41 SIERA and 0% K-BB% as his strikeout rate (10.1%) and his walk rate (10.1%) are the same. Vogelbach has a .376 wOBA and .270 ISO against RHP this season.

Joey Votto, C/1B: $2,600 -Votto is facing Kyle Hendricks. Votto has a .184 ISO against RHP. Hendricks has a 4.57 SIERA and is allowing 1.55 HR/9 this season. Even though this is a down year for Votto, he is improving in some areas at the plate. His strikeout rate was just 19% in June, down from 25% in April. His wRC+ in June is 98, he is essentially an average hitter right now. But against a bad pitcher in the middle of the order at a value is something I will take.

Jonathan India, 2B: $2,900 – I am playing India in cash game lineups that I do not have Votto in. Obviously, the Reds are a team to consider stacking in a tournament today. India has not done much this season due to injury, but we know he’s a guy that can get on base, steal bases, and hit with some pop as he had 21 home runs and a .190 ISO last year.

Isaac Paredes, 3B: $3,200 – Isaac Paredes is the greatest power hitter in the game… Not really but he has a .340 ISO and 10 home runs in just 36 games played. Kikuchi has a 13.5% walk rate as well and is allowing 2.06 HR/9. I am interested in the Rays lineup.

Wander Franco, SS: $3,000 – Wander Franco has a .354 wOBA and .170 ISO against LHP this season. If looking to get away from as many Rays, then Oneill Cruz at $3,100 is interesting, although if he bats sixth that is less interesting than if he bats at the top of the order. Bo Bichette ($3,300) would not be bat either considering the pricing of shortstops tonight.

Bryan Reynolds, OF: $2,800 – He has a .359 wOBA and .261 ISO against RHP this season. He did hit three HRs yesterday, however. He’s either hot and will continue to mash, or he will cool down a bit. $2,800 is too cheap.

Jesse Winker, OF: $3,100 – He has been hitting the ball well as of lately. Adrian Martinez has one major league start. In Triple-A, he had a 4.63 xFIP this year, suggesting he can be got to. Julio Rodriguez ($3,800) is someone to look at too.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

No rain in the forecast at the moment!

Doing Lines In Vegas

I like the Pittsburgh Pirates (+111) tonight.
