Drafting outfielders for the 2019 fantasy baseball season is a hot topic. There’s tons of outfielders, but the top couple tiers dry up quickly. On this show, B_Don and Donkey Teeth discuss several outfielders you might consider targeting once all the top OFs are off the board.

The first of those potential targets is Byron Buxton. The juicy fantasy sausage upside that oozes from every single one of Byron Buxton’s pores is both sweet and savory. Studies have also shown this ooze can cure cancer and other terminal diseases. Buxton is off to phenomenal start this spring, boasting added muscle and claims of, “The best shape of his life”. Which is always true.

The guys also discuss expectations for rising star Michael Conforto and relative unknown rookie, Christin Stewart. Then some late round outfield targets are thrown around to finish up the show. Opening day is coming, make sure you get your fill of sausage, sausage juices, and the Ditka, Sausage, and Fantasy Sports shirt before time runs out!

THOME: Not just a big sexy retired baseball player now employed by MLB Network. Steve Paulo, and/or Neil deGrasse Tyson, joins the sausage fest to discuss his brainchild, Thomeprojections.com. Steve deGrasse Tyson explains what an IMPACT player is and breaks down how they can be utilized for fantasy baseball success. And he shares one young offensive catcher his projection system loves for this season and nobody is talking about. Paulo also attempts to dumb down the inner workings of his projection system so even Donkey Teeth can understand it.
If you’re interested in sports investing, team win totals, simulation baseball, or just listening to a really smart guy talk about really smart guy things, this is the fantasy sausage pod for you.

Fantasy Master Lothario, Grey Albright, joins Donkey Teeth to discuss Jackson Hole, along with many other holes. They dig into their AL and NL-Only industry league auction results, breaking down how each team shaped up and the optimal draft strategy for these formats.

The guys talk about their shared Adalberto Mondesi love, how one might come to draft Bryce Harper in an AL-Only league, and $1 bargain buys in only-leagues, as Albright struggles to conquer his addiction to lists of letters. The show is rounded out by Grey requesting Donkey’s handyman services at his new California home and a discussion about 2019 expectations for Byron Buxton.

B_Don and Donkey dig their hands and hoofs in the the starting pitcher sausage this week on the Ditka Pod.

What will they find as they sift through this years pitching mystery meat? Could Joe Musgrove be in for a breakout season?

Is Trevor Williams’s beard top 5 in the NL? Will Chris Paddack be the best rookie SP in 2019?

Are Donkey Teeth’s Top 100 Starting Pitchers pure nonsense? Are cucumbers better pickled?

What kind of a lazy intro just lists 6 questions in a row?

If you don’t have time to listen to the podcast, the answers to those questions are: 1) You don’t want to know
2) Yes 3) Debatable 4) Maybe 5) Definitely 6) No 7) Good Question.

On second thought, you should probably just listen to the podcast. Oh, and also check out our starting pitcher rankings below…

In part 2 of the shortstop review, The Itch joins the show to talk about the recently completed Ditka, Sausage, and Dynasty league FYPD draft. B_Don and The Itch then dive into Adalberto Mondesi, Fernando Tatis Jr., and the SS position as a whole for fantasy and the real game. Ditka could’ve showed up at Spring Training and made the Baseball Hall of Fame without playing a regular season game. Ditka would’ve brought back the two-way player in baseball well before Shohei Ohtani. Ditka would DH in the NL. Ditka’s ‘stache would put such fear into hitters when he was on the mound that they would leave the batter’s box, never to return.

Donkey Teeth and B_Don discuss the young Mets SS Amed Rosario in part 1 of the shortstop profile this week. Amed showed a little power, and in a game where stolen bases are harder to come by in bunches, Rosario stole 24 bases in 2018. There were some swing changes that the guys noticed during their review and look for some growth in 2019.

Ditka once hit a HR off Sandy Koufax, took a HR away from Hank Aaron, and was called the best defensive CF of all time by Willie Mays. Ditka could’ve been the greatest baseball player of all time, but he decided it wouldn’t be fair to everyone else be the GOAT in 2 sports. There was no velocity reading on Ditka because the means to measure that level of speed did not exist in the 60s.

With this week’s helping of sausage, the Ditka dudes deep dive on Yoan Moncada to see if the former top prospect is worth his current 158 ADP. B_Don and Donkey Teeth also take a look at Brian Dozier and Rougned Odor to evaluate their bounce back potential at different points in their respective careers. After the profiles, the guys discuss some later options at the position that could be steals in your draft. Come and get your sausage here!

Following a midseason trade, Luke Voit put together an incredible 2018 second half. In doing so, he earned himself Yankee fans’ fleeting adoration, a sleeper post from Fantasy Master Lothario and most importantly, the spotlight profile on the Ditka, Sausage 2019 first baseman preview show. It just goes to show you, dreams really do come true. Determination, hard work, and a healthy obsession with sausage are always rewarded.

After the comprehensive look into Voit’s past and future, B_Don and Donkey move their gazes towards two of the young shiny options at the position: Peter Alonso and Jake Bauers. Find all this and more inside this week’s edition of the one and only Fantasy Sausage Pod. The guys’ 2019 first baseman rankings can also be viewed below.
