Last night, Buster Posey was carried off the field after Scott Cousins plowed him over. This was the worst bang-bang play a catcher took in San Francisco since– Okay, you almost drew me into that one, but I’m not going there. It didn’t look good as Posey wasn’t able to put weight on his leg. Everyone’s favorite lox dealer, Eli Whiteside, would take over if the busted Posey misses time. As Eli would say, oy. Anyway, here’s what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Mike Minor – 5 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 9 baserunners, 5 Ks. The reason why I haven’t been screaming for you to grab this Minor, besides the fact I’m not Gary Glitter or Jeffrey Jones, is I have no idea the Braves plan for him. I imagine he’s sent back down as soon as Beachy returns. You can pick up Minor, just in case he sticks. I do still have much love for him. Even if he hasn’t returned any of my phone calls, appreciated my unannounced drop-bys or patted my butt when I’ve asked him to.
Jordan Schafer – 2-for-5, was called up and led off for the Braves. With his poor slash line in the minors this year, the only thing Schafer should be leading off is Letterman shows.
Mike Morse – 1-for-4, 3 RBIs and now has three straight games with a home run. Dot, dot, dash. That’s Morse code for pick him up right now.
Zack Greinke – 7 IP, 3 ER, 6 baserunners, 10 Ks and he pitchslapped Jason Marquis. In Greinke’s last three games, he’s given up 5 ER, 4 ER and 3 ER. I look forward to his start in early June when he throws a shutout.
Zach Braddock – Still out with a sleep disorder, but yesterday he missed a rehab start because of a cracked fingernail. He said, “I’m not going to let a fingernail–” Then fell asleep mid-sentence.
Matt Guerrier – Lost yesterday’s game; Jansen lost the previous Dodgers loss. Guerra, MacDougal, Rubby…. Your time to suck is now! Dodger bullpen? More like Dodgy bullpen.
Ted Lilly – 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 2 Ks. Would’ve been nice to see more Ks — because I like Ks, okay?! — but he’s lowered his ERA from 4.93 on May 4th to 4.41 in the (not Denard) span of four starts. Next stop, 4.00!
Hong-Chih Kuo – Throwing at 90% intensity as he works his way back from an anxiety condition. Somebody just needs to ask him, “You happy with your status, Kuo?”
Juan Nicasio – Will get the Rockies Saturday start. He was making it look easy in Double-A — 2.22 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, plus-10 K-rate. That’s a yes, please and thank you. Unfortunately, Double-A players sleep in hammocks that smell like mildew and can’t hit like major leaguers. Outside of NL-Only leagues, you’re asking to get roofied if you grab Nicasio. Though, if he pitches well, I could see reevaluating.
Jed Lowrie – 0-for-5 while the Sawx scored 14 runs. Ticker tease!
Jarrod Saltalamacchia – 2-for-4 with his 4th home run in his last ten games while upping his batting average thirty-three points. I don’t mind him, but Salty raises Rudy’s blood pressure.
Carl Crawford – 4-for-4, 3 runs, 2 RBIs, his 3rd home run and 2nd in three games. On top of the homer, there were two doubles and some premature extrabasulation. He’s batting .308 in May and the “Now Through Memorial Day” sale on Crawford ended early.
Brad Hawpe – 2-for-4 and homers in back-to-back games. Yesterday, someone asked if Hawpe’s recent hitting would keep Rizzo down. The thing about Rizzo is the same with most rookies. They fail — with or without a hashtag. A rookie in Petco? I would take a flyer, but I wouldn’t count on Rizzo saving your season.
Andruw Jones – 3-for-3, 4 RBIs and two home runs. Someone just woke from a five-year coma and can’t stop talking about the Hall of Fame career Andruw Jones is having.
Russell Martin – Has 9 homers and 4 steals on the year. Not bad considering there were two Yankee backstops drafted before him.
Frank Francisco – John Farrell, the Blue Jays manager (which I always feel the need to clarify), said Frank2 was their closer. Then he said Dotel, Frasor and Rauch could all jump on the closerousel if a matchup proved favorable. By which he means, if they don’t want to blow the save, they’ll look elsewhere.
Erik Bedard – 6 IP, 0 ER, 7 baserunners, 4 Ks. So, here’s a day in the life of Grey Albright: Yesterday, I was backing up my SUV in a gas station and I ran into an old man walking behind my car. Not on purpose! I love old people. They have good stories and carry hard candies. But, from my rearview mirror, it looked like I decapitated him. Quickly, I jump out of my car — after momentarily considering driving straight to Mexico and selling blankets and chiclets for the rest of my life. Turned out I didn’t behead him, I knocked his toupee off. I bring this up now because if the old man were Erik Bedard, he wouldn’t have walked away from the accident. I.e., he’s injury prone. Enjoy Bedard while you can, he’s not staying healthy.
Franklin Gutierrez – 2-for-3 as The Big FraGu went deep for the first time this season. To be clear, I like The Big FraGu’s nickname better than him.
Neftali Feliz – He got the save yesterday and his season ERA is 1.13. Still, something is not right. He has a 1.50 WHIP and 14 walks vs. 8 Ks. This isn’t the same guy who has a career K-rate better than 9. I’d say he’s hiding an injury, but his velocity has been fine. It might be a mechanics thing. I don’t know, I’m not Tom Emanski. BTW, who’s the backup to grab in Texas? Blech, no one really. BTW II, The Return of BTW, there should be a Razzball glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly (Joakim Soria, anyone?), but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it. Make suggestions in the comments. Thank you.
Luke Hochevar – 7 IP, 7 ER, 11 baserunners, 1 K. Seven innings and seven runs? Looks like he was a victim of manager’s indifference.
Ian Kennedy – 8 IP, 1 ER, 9 baserunners, 3 Ks in Coors. Sorry if I told you to bench him yesterday. Mea culpa, my Latin friends. I avoided a sonavabenching because Rudy snuck Kennedy into our lineup. His ‘fro is obviously just camo-ing his giant brain.
Ervin Santana – 6 IP, 1 ER, 8 baserunners, 6 Ks. On May 13th, I told you Ervin was about to be magic. Since then, his ERA is 2.05. Cust kayin’.
Wilson Valdez – Started at 2nd base for Utley then pitched the 19th inning to earn the win. Geez, everyone’s breathing down Ryan Madson’s neck. When the game ended at 2:45 AM, all fans remaining in attendance got to take home with them one homeless person.
Don Kelly – LL Donkey has started the last two games in front of Brandon Inge. Inge needs to turn to Big Mike for some guidance.
Kevin Slowey – Out with an abdominal strain. Jim Hoey to replace Kevin Slowey. Too bad they couldn’t replace Joe Mauer with Jack Bauer. “Look, Liriano, we don’t have time! I need you to throw me a fastball low and outside and I need you to throw it NOW!”

I’d imagine by the time you read this, it’ll be tomorrow, and I might have my answer by then, but in the case that it goes unsaid:
If Posey goes on the DL (which isn’t an “if,” but more of a “when”, and even then, it’s a “right now” – I mean just look at this: http://i.imgur.com/bLz2i.jpg ) …
What’s this do for Belt?
morse hopefully runs with this 1st base turn,i believe he has 9 games at 1st and the 10th tomorrow will make him eligible,i grabbed him as a hot bat but this could keep him on my team
@Flunkie: ouch,im thinking belt ,but i hope he starts off a little better this time around
is it me or has the news been pretty lame recently, nothing all that important/interesting this week in basaeball
freddie freeman or juan miranda?
either of those guys vs rizzo when hes called up?
Do you recommend me to drop Carlos Pena for Michael Morse? He is the only player I can drop now.
Soria and Feliz = “Lonely Closer”
Re: glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it. I submit:
adj. – shmoblind
Use as in, “Soria blew his Nth save, but considering the options, you have to remain shmoblind for the time being and sit tight.”
Re: glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it. I submit:
ballfouriest midget
Use as in, “Fuentes shat the bed last night, but he’s really the ballfouriest midget in that ‘pen. Collect the sheets and try to sneak past the girl’s family as they breakfast. Nothing to see here.”
Nice format, Bosmosis.
Jose Bautista has been a golden God this season, but if you sort the last 30 days, neither he nor Jay Bruce (WTF, he’s AWESOME) are the best OF – Matt Joyce holds that title. When do the masses start considering him a LEGIT player, and not just a hot commodity? Basically, when will his trade value actually reflect how good of a player he really is?
Greinke’s ERA/FIP/xFIP – 5.79/2.76/1.58(!!!)
Considering his K rate and 1.14 whip it’s unlikely you’ll truly be able to buy low on him, but it might be worth a shot to throw out a trade offer for him just in case…
Napoli or Salty?
Lilly makes Daily Notes by lowering his ERA 52 points in four starts from 4.93 to 4.41, with 6 IP, 1 ER, 7 baserunners, 2 Ks, but Latos doesn’t after lowering his 52 points from 4.60 to 4.08 in just one start, with 8 IP, 1 ER, 6 baserunners, 7 Ks?
Just because Ted will be pitching in August and Mat will be rehabbing doesn’t mean you can’t open your heart temporarily!
Grey:do you see Morse as much more than just the latest hot schmotato?
in other words,as far as THIS season goes(10 team h2h keeper),would it be smart to grab Morse now,or wait for Jennings or Rizzo to get called up,since Im not desperate for 1B or OF help?
second,same league,who do you want going forward-Dom Brown,Rizzo,Jennings or Moustakas?
“They have good stories and carry hard candies.”
Grey… CLASSIC..
My grandpa would always ask if i wanted a Werthers..but sometimes it sounds like….”you wanna wurperrrs”

Oh, and a glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:
Itty Bitty %^&$y Committee
Use as in, “Capps blew his third save in five chances, but fortunately the rest of the bullpen is an Itty Bitty *&^%y Committee.”
this can also be used when your closer is injured but the replacement(s) are not successful:
“Jonathan Broxton hopes to return in three weeks, and with the other options performing like an Itty Bitty &^%$y Committee, he should get his old job back.”
Posey replacement time! Please rank these bums: Buck, Lucroy, Saltalamaccia, Ianetta? Oh this blows…..
A glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:

Glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:
Pen Bowels
“Sure, Francisco blew another save, but the rest of his Pen Bowels (Rauch, Fraser, Dotel) are faring no better, so you might as well ride the wave of disarray a bit longer.”
A glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:
Broxton Hicks
Use as in: With Broxton on the DL (and ineffective when healthy), we thought we had a closer in: Guerrier, Jansen, Kuo, Guerra, Rubby… but it was just the Broxton Hicks & we’d be better off just trotting Ethier or Kemp out there.
I like Schmo-blind.
I can’t think of a catchy term, but its like the homely girl surrounded by much, much uglier friends by comparison.
Put on your Schmo-goggles and enjoy the ride.
So I saw the Hangover 2 yesterday. I had peeked at the ratings beforehand (critics gave it around a 40%), so I went in expecting an OK movie with a few laughs along the way. I wasn’t dissapointed nor was I crazy over it. It’s a movie tailored to guy humor (lots of penis jokes [and penises for that matter ] this time around and does not live up to the hype at all.
@AJ:
Haha, that one’s pretty good.
A glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:
Soy Sauce
Deffinition: “Stuck On You” Sauce
Description: The flavor is intensely salty, can be taken in only small amounts.
Can you use it in a sentence please? I drafted Broxton & Thornton as my closers. Got a few saves but my Whip, ERA, & k/9 got too much Soy Sauce all over them; yuccch!
trumbo, brantley or morse, which 1 do you want going forward?
@Grey: First two sentences were classic! Great job as always sir. Have an awesome day!
@Craigo Z: if he’s that good of a player, say a legit top 5-10 OF, then you shouldn’t be too distraught about keeping him and trading away a guy with more name value.
Grey ran over Ed Wade!
Glossary term for lousy performing bullpen:
Pig Pen (in reference to the Peanuts character)
Our friend Pig Pen was such hot garbage that even that little, seemingly homeless child made the unkempt Charlie Brown look like a member of the Kennedy family.
can be used as such: “The Large Potato may be struggling, but as long as hes surrounded by a Pig Pen with Benoit and Perry, he should be juuuuust fine.”
@Oilcan Giuseppe: well a lot of people had morse pegged as a sleeper heading into the year rpojecting him to maybe go for .275-25. he had an awful april and lost some PT, but appears to be getting hot and reclaiming ABs, so maybe he just had a poor april? i’d probably like moustakas of the prospects you listed simply because he’s a 3B and being that decent ones are so few and far betwen, even middling production, say .260-15 from june-sept is gonna be better than most owner’s 3B.
ok, so does anyone have info on david wright’s back? will he be able to come off the DL early next week when he’s eligible? how about lind? i see they are hopeful he’ll be back this weekend? is that still the timetable?
i ask because in RCL, i dropped cantu to pick up ervin santana to stream yesterday. i’d like to keep santana. statistically my worst SP is ubaldo, but i’m not gonna drop him. yet at least. everyone else is performing very well, so hard to justify another drop. considering the 3B waiver options, i’m tempted to just roll without a 3B for a few days until either lind or wright is back. if lind is back, i can drop laporta and pick up some 3B schmohawk.
Grey any chance belt gets called up?
A glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:
Proven Real World Fireman
Use as in: Proven real world fireman, Matt Capps, continues to get save opportunities, as he claimed double digit saves for the Pirates five years ago, has already talked down two suicidal teammates who were ready to jump and rescued several cats a burning building prior to blowing his tenth save of the season.
Reference: Ron Davis (Ike’s dad)
Citation: Ron Davis Wikipedia entry (best reading you will find all year)
Related Entry: Team Magician
Use as in: Team Magician, Michael Cuddyer continues to get starts at 2B, despite being two steps slower than too slow to play the position, as he is a nice guy who dazzles American Legion posts with his card tricks.
Ouch, Posey. Done in by Les Cousins Dangereux.
Re: Glossary Term-
Blows Colored Glasses
For the glossary term, how about The Sedgewick?
She was on that show the closer, but I ignored it because I don’t care.
Razzball glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly (Joakim Soria, anyone?), but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it-
A la Family Guy, How about a dwarf among midgets?
Example:
Matt Capps blew another save last night, but he’s not going anywhere since he’s a dwarf among midgets.
Surprised to see no comment on what appeared to be a turning of the corner for Mat Latos last night, velocity back up in the 94-96 range and good location on his off speed stuff, all against a pretty good lineup.
Glossery term for when your closer is doing poorly (Joakim Soria, anyone?), but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it.
Bullpendicitis
Definition – A useless appendage that offers no real value, only the potential for discomfort, pain and in rare cases, death.
Usage: Soria has been pitching like crap lately but he’s got a bullpendicitis behind him so I just have to stick it out and hope he turns it around.
Smoak or Morse from here on out?
Either of those guys better than Brantley or Seth Smith?
alright, here is my pitching staff:
starters: hudson, cahill, E.Santana, Romero, Sheilds and Ogondo
Relief: Hanrahan, bell and madson.
bench:Feliz, johnson and Matusz.
im looking for a trade with feliz, but when matusz and johnson come back, who do i drop? or do i trade away?
10 team H2H. For rest of year please rank Zambrano, Wolf, McDonald, Vargas, Narveson, Volquez, Collmenter, Morton. Thanks!
Scherzer a must start at home today even if vs. Boston?
@BSW: I like it.
RE: Glossary Term
Capp-pen
“Matt Capps blew another save yesterday, but with the Twins bullpen, anything can Capp-pen.”
@lopes: i think ogundo is easily due for the biggest regression, so he’d be the guy i’d drop if i had too, plus texas + getting into hot weather season = worrisome.
i’ve found it hard to deal pitching this year with some many guys pitching well (or hitting poorly), not many people are willing to pay for a SP. you might be able to find someone with a weak RP situation and pair feliz with a decent hitter to get a better hitter? that would also free up a roster spot so you wouldn’t have to drop anyone when johnson or matusz comes off the DL.
@Grey – Angel Pagan worth a stash? I play in a 12 team H2H standard roto league
I’m thinking of picking him up over Mike Morse since either player will be a bench player. My current OFs are Zobrist, Kemp, Bruce, and Bourn.
Wieters/Gordon for Arencibia/A.Jones…which side?
Better for speculative saves: Frasor or Rubby?
Start Morrow or Guthrie today or both?
@ThePoonTycoon: thats what i was thinking. i want to see matusz do nasty, as im sure he will.
and about feliz, i am trying to work feliz and turner for prado. i need a sexond baseman as roberts is out and howie kendrick is hurting. i like prados eligibility.
@Bosmosis:
schmoblind – has a nice ring to it
“You happy with your status, Kuo?” Ha! I imagine that he is currently quite SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder). We could have a Quid Pro Kuo and trade him for Khalil Greene, with an anti-anxiety agent Ativan for Xanax.to be named later.
Pitch Scherzer against Bosox? Max has been great, but Boston is hot right now.
Thanks, as always
Would you drop Dom Brown to stash Lawrie? Brown is basically a backup OF in my lineup..
Thanks
Please rank these waiver wire catchers as potential spot starters:
Ianetta
Ramos
Salty
Ramon Hernandez
Lucroy
In a points league which side do you like better?
I give pujols and Cueto
I get Halladay and Ryan Howard
Pujols usually dominates in this format, but im starting to get nervous.
Glossary term for when your closer is doing poorly, but the rest of the bullpen is so bad you just ignore it:
Clo-Dependence
As in- “My closer is sucking right now, but I can’t let him go- got a bad case of clo-dependence. He needs me and I need him, because in this crazy world, there’s really just no one else out there that understands either of us.”
For the Razzball term regarding a crappy closer who is on a crappy bullpen: “Cream of the bullcrap” (bullpen-crap)
2nd grader in spelling bee: Can you please use that in a sentence?
Sure boy-o, “That Brian Fuentes sure is the cream of the bullcrap!”
@Grey: trade Gaby, Cruz or Stanton for Mauer?
@Flunkie: It didn’t make him hit better than he did last time he was in SF.
@matt: Miranda
@K76154: Eh
@JC: Eh
@Bosmosis: I think we’ve used the prefix schmo enough for now. Nice format.
@JT: I do enjoy little people humor, but eh.
@Craigo Z: Not this year.
@Charles: Salty
@Jim: Ha
@Oilcan Giuseppe: Not really…Brown
@tggq21: Ha!

@Casey Blake’s Beard: Narveson, McDonald, Morton…
@EK: Yup
@lopes: Eh
@William: Sure
@Wilsonian: Jones
@Steve Stevenson: Frsor

@Paulie Allnuts: I would.
@DHill Dragons: Iannetta
@Futureman: Looks fair for you.
@Asdrubal Bastardo: I like it, will run by Rudy.
@Fletch: Gaby seems fair.
@Snethan: I liked this one a lot, Rudy passed.
@Asdrubal Bastardo: I liked it, didn’t make it past me though.
@Did he just say funky butt lovin’?: Nope
Neftali has management’s Shawn Chaconfidence… or something to that ilk. Chacon’s 2004 is the textbook definition of this phenomenon.
I’m looking to do a little SP streaming. Could Tillman v. the horrible OAK offense, be a decent spotty? I’m basically trying to chase W’s.
Hey God,
Would you start Anibal Sanchez tonight vs. San Fran and Vogelsong?
I don’t like Vogelsong’s name, it makes me think of a….well, I really just don’t like it.
Looking for a Pitcher – who would you take – Jo-Jo Reyes or Wilson Valdez
Does streaming in a keeper league violate the ‘spirit’ of the league? A guy in my league says streaming should not be allowed in a keeper, because the idea of the league is to keep…not turn over roster spots.
Anyone have suggestions for a SS to pickup in a deep league?
I drafted Alicedes who has been horrible. Any sleepers out there I should have my eyes on picking up? The waiver wire is awful thin. Would you pick up Bartlett, Plouffe, Carroll, Brignac, Pennington, Andino?
Someone about to get called up, or get more playing time, or gain SS eligibility (in ESPN) that I should have my eyes on?
Feliz has 0 K v. righties this season, which downright weird.
Love Bullpendicitis. I’ve run out every jabroni the Dodgers hand the ball to in the 9th so I definitely need to go to the doctor and get that cut outta me before it blows up and I start vomiting little pieces of Jansens and Padillas.
How about “Bullpointless Pen?”
Closer Term:
Bar Time Beauty Queen=
At bar time there is usually only 1 woman left (the closer) who you can convince yourself looks pretty good. A quick look around the rest of the bar only serves to make you wish that you hadn’t looked around the rest of the bar, so you ignore everyone else and concentrate on the only woman in the room that is passable enough to get the job done.
Bay or Gordon?
For glossary term, how about blownsharks?
As in, “The Baltimore pen is so not money, it’s full of blownsharks.”
My favorite new glossary term and a sentence:
“Pass on Kuo. Broxton remains the Cream of the Crap.
(credit to Mr. Bastardo, refined by moi… we don’t need no Bull).
My own idea was to reference Ben Stein’s classroom in Ferris Bueller. Something like “the Dodger’s bullpen continues to follow their lessons on Stein’s economics… nobody has the answer. “Anyone? Anyone?… Bueller?… The Great Depression.”
I know, I know… funny, but doesn’t distill too well.
Should I grab Jason Bourgeois and stash him, or do you think his SB line is waay inflated? Is he going to see regular playing time?
I just got offered a trade in my Yahoo league and they actually used ESPN ranks as a basis for why it was a good deal for me, slamming Yahoo for the superior analysis of the four letter network… Its hard to not be mean when someone assumes my stupidity is greater than theirs.
Bad Pen for good closer = Turnblow, they can take their turn but they are all going to blow. Inspired by the horrible career turn for Derrick Turnbow and how even with closing experience they still would by pass him for some other turd.
My team is off to an awful start, my hitting is virtually non-existent. My pitching is however half decent, if I were to attempt to trade an arm for a bat, whom should I try to peddle?
Lester, Verlander, Anderson, or Kennedy? I also have Beachy chilling on the DL.
Any suggestions welcome.
@Grey…
Better shortstop to pick-up while Hanley i day-to-day…
1. Jason Bartlett
2. Darwin Barney
3. Orlando Cabrera
4. Alex Gonzalez
5. Yuniesky Betancourt
6. Ryan Theriot
7. Jamey Carroll
@Grey:
My girlfriend saw that movie and hasn’t stopped talking about how hilarious it is. But now that it has the Razzball seal of approval, it’s a must watch.
Random question: do you prefer same-day add/drops or
add a player so it reflects the next day?
@Smell The Golve: Only criticizing this because I like it and think it has potential: the appendix is the useless appendage (definition), which can get infected and inflamed, etc. (appendicitis). So the definition/sentence might have to be changed if you used Bullpendicitis, i.e., “but there’s a bad case of Bullpendicitis behind him..” Similarly, you don’t get appendicitis/bullpendix removed, you get an appendix/bullpendix removed. This probably sounds ridiculously picky, but I’m an MD and a writer, so I can’t help myself.
@El Famous Burrito Burrito: Yeah, that’s what I was thinking: “prettiest ugly girl at the bar”.
Soria is definitely just that at the moment. Maybe he should take back “The Mexicutioner” nickname. He kinda sucks without it.
@Grey: Gaby/Sabathia for Hamels/Holliday
does including Stanton or Cruz with Sabathia instead of Gaby change anything?
@BSW — glad you hat-tipped Family Guy but kudos to you for a great call on dwarf amongst midgets
Is it time to give up on any of these:
Morneau
Carlos Pena
Mark Reynolds
Hanley
Start Scherzer today?
@Bob: Eh
@Probable Party Starter: I’m spotting him in a league.
@TheBlackWatermelon: Sure
@mrbaseball: Ha
@Carlos: Nope
@CoreyII: Bartlett
@royce!: Yup
@Nate: Ha
@Gabe: Eh
@BryanL: I don’t think it’s better than above.
@Adam: Gordon
@Long Bawls: It made me laugh, but I don’t think it works better than above.
@Rodger-Dodger: I’ve used cream of the crap before to describe a top catcher.
@Craigo Z: Stash him.
@Garvey’s Illegitimate child: Ha! But eh on term.
@Randy BoBandy: Whoever gets the best deal.
@Ralph: 1
@Eddy: Yeah, was solid, didn’t think it was front to back terrific. Same day.
@Fletch: Holliday…Yeah
@Mr. Rickey: Depends what you’re giving them up for.
@Asdrubal Bastardo: That gets my vote
for the closer glossary term, i suggest something simple…
cornholed…
besides the lateral reference to “donkeycorn” (probably the category any struggling closer worth keeping falls into), it just sounds good… “damn, jeffey, i’m gettin’ cornholed for the last month by capps since the old horse forgot how to throw…”
it also works well for teams who stick to a closer who should be good but he’s been wavering between pitching ‘atrociously’ and pitching ‘okay’: “holy cow! i’m soria’s givin’ me the cornhole right now.”
the term also carries with it a great deal of collateral meaning… i trust nobody here has been cornholed, but we can all imagine what it feels like. and is it really that different than a closer smacking your WHIP and ERA to the moon while tagging on losses and not adding saves? maybe, maybe not…
@Eddy: it’s actually pretty funny. there is a little girl humor, but 90% of it is broad enough to appeal to guys. i wouldn’t roll in for a dude’s night to watch it (that’d just look/feel awkward), but you are playing with house money if you can ‘let your gf/wife choose’ bridesmaids and you get to pick the next date night movie. plus jon hamm always cracks me up doing comedy because don draper is the least comedic character ever.
Posey has a broken leg, torn ligaments.
http://twitter.com/#!/AmyGGiants/status/73769501543497728
@bogbert: Agree… didn’t say anything at first; but you’re correct.
Salty over Suzuki?
Morse over Bernadina or Trumbo?
Posey has broken leg and torn ligaments.
Brandon Belt gets the call.
Drop Rasmus for Sandoval?
I have Bautista at 3B I can use at OF.
@ivebeenupforthreedaysstraight: Funny definition and explanation, but it doesn’t beat others.
@royce!: Boo
@bogbert: Agreed
@brad: Eh…Can go over Trumbo.
@ThePoonTycoon:
Good to know. I’ll definitely go watch it…sans seven other pair of balls.
@Grey:
a) didn’t know that prius made a suv
b) glossary try ==> resident evil
c)
Ugh…. looks like torn ligaments AND a broken leg.
http://mlb.sbnation.com/2011/5/26/2191483/buster-posey-injury-san-francisco-giants
weiters or arrencibia?
Congers or Posada ROS?
@ivebeenupforthreedaysstraight: Your name makes me wonder if you’re a resident.
Belt was officially called up
@ Grey
Please rank these waiver wire catchers as potential spot starters:
Ianetta
Ramos
Salty
Ramon Hernandez
Lucroy
Looking to grab any one of the following to throw in my DL spot when Lind comes off (no one else on my squad is currently on the DL): Beachy, Matusz, Contreras, Soto (got Lucroy now)… Thanks.
grey…if salas falters (or if you dont think he will keep job, then who do you think gets save opps?)
thanks.
Which side:
Napoli/Tabata/Gio/Walden for Arencibia/BJ/Kennedy/Norris?
Belt vs Domonic Brown? Or ride one until it gets closer to time for Desmond Jennings? Need BA and runs the most. Thanks!
re: glossary term
Saving Disgrace
“Lined up amongst the other pyromaniacs in the Twins ‘pen, Capps figures to remain their Saving Disgrace.”
Also considered: “Head of the Burn Unit”
Been benching Tabata this whole time. Is it safe to trade Gardner away now that Tabata’s heating up? It’d be Lucroy/Gardner for Youk to a guy who just lost Posey and who’s stated his intent to trade Youkilis. Thanks!
@Wilsonian: bj/kennedy/norris side easy
@bogbert: ha! close… law.
but continue with the medical ref’s (and an extension of our prior criticism): bullpendectomy…
“matt crapps has got me soiled since the twins’ bullpendectomy forced him into the 9th…”
or, military, perhaps: a bullpen coup d’etards…
“capps is still closing after a minnesota bullpen coup d’etards… “
grey, can you please rank
billingsley, lilly, T. Hudson, bum-g?
thanks,
@The Mad Hungarian: like that one
@chata: It’s not a Prius…ha.
@Deeeeeez Nuts: Wieters
@AubreyHuffingGlue: Posada
@The Talented Mr. Douche Bag: Yup
@DHill Dragons: Ianetta
@EG: Soto
@the grate one: Sanchez
@Wilsonian: Norris
@The Shizz: Belt
@The Mad Hungarian: Eh
@Casey Blake’s Beard: Sure
@ivebeenupforthreedaysstraight: Ha!
Short list of recently dropped in my 12 team H2H.. pls rank for the rest of this season:
Butler
Uggla
Morneau
Sandoval
Reported here first, after reading it somewhere else of course. Posey has a broken bone in his leg with a side dish of torn ACL ligaments. Most likely done for the year, Belt will be called up to take his spot on the roster. Depressing news for a Giants fan…..
NL only league. Who do i drop for Belt. Nady or Cedeno?
Grey…would love some advice my man:
12 team 5 x 5
Which side wins? M Holliday + Andrus vs. Tulo
Thanks!
Uggla was dropped in my league. Drop Aaron Hill for him?
@The Mad Hungarian: I like Saving Disgrace; clever.
@ivebeenupforthreedaysstraight: Military was a good one. But it’s “coup d’etat” (insert appropriate emoticon). Unless you meant it that way and now don’t I look like the fool for not getting it.
Hey Grey,
Currently got Avila at C, Soto about to come off the DL, and Arrencibia on FA. Rank em the rest of the way?
Thanks.
More helpful for this year: Sands or Belt?
Posey with a broken ankle/leg and torn ligaments, Brandon Belt and catcher Chris Stewart called up.
I’ve got Espinosa holding down 2B but Kelly Johnson is available. It’s a league that counts OBP & SLG as well as hits. Is Johnson a must-grab?
@The Mad Hungarian: I might have been to quick to judge, Rudy likes it.
@EK: You ranked them.
@Asdrubal Bastardo: Thanks!
@The Talented Mr. Douche Bag: Cedeno
@MR: Holliday
@Eric C.: Sure
@TheRealTaz: Hold
@AdamH: Belt
@Tim: Yup
Whiteside or Thole to replace Posey in a deep NL only league? Oy.
RoS: Lowrie, Lawrie, or Figgins?
hows it going grey?
can you rank
billingsley, bum-g, Tim Hudson, lilly, and niese?
thanks!!!
Since Posey has a broken leg and torn ligaments, I guess I need to replace him. My options:
Lucroy
Salty
Olivo
RHer
Blanco
Avila
Ugh…
All signs point to Posey missing the rest of the year.
Let me rephrase my previous question..
Pick two for the rest of the season: Lowrie, Lawrie, Figgins
@bogbert: nah, it was supposed to be that way…the tards are the slew of awful pitchers who took over late-inning roles.
back to medicine: “the twins are sticking with capps due to a bad case of of Relief Incontinence,” “capps, backed up by a handful of Diarrhealief Pitchers, is still closing games for minnesota…”
Napoli or Iannetta?
pedro alvarez, brantley or trumbo. I am going to pick up morse and keep 1 of these guys
Who you like best a replacement for Posey:
Lucroy
Posada
Yadier
Buck
Iannetta
Hernandez
thanks
Is Reddick worth a pick-up? Seems like serious power, is Drew hurt? Any chance Reddick sees regular at-bats?
Hi Grey: In a very deep mixed league I need to use spot starters to prevent falling too far behind the innings count while waiting for Beachy to come and and/or Liriano to become a reliable guy you start each time around.
Do you think that either Vasquez (@LAD), Westbrook (@COL), or LeCure (@ATL) are worth a spot start Friday? Or Outman (vs. BAL), Oliver (vs. BOS), and Villanueva (vs. CHW) on Saturday?
I’d just like one or two names you think have the best chance to help (my weakest pitching categories are WHIP, wins, and Ks) along with the smallest chance to roofie me.
Many thanks!
@bogbert: Yeah, I know, it’s not perfect. I quickly typed in it this morning at work and after hitting submit, was hoping no one would call me out on that discrepancy in proper usage in both cases.
The definition could be revised to for more baseball terms:
The continued ERA swelling and WHIP infection of a useless appendage that offers no real value, only pain, discomfort, and in rare cases death of the owner.
Need a big boost in BA and getting to that point where it will be hard to catch up. I’ve been offered Delmon Young. I’ve never been a fan, but he’s never hit under .284 before this season, what do you think he’ll do ROS?
Also, do you think Ian Desmond keeps stealing crazy bases? What do you see for him ROS?
@Schmohawks Bob: Whiteside
@Flunkie: Lawrie, Figgy
@pjtres: Bills, Hudson, Bum, Lilly…
@AJ: Avila
@Danny Tanner: Iannetta
@Will: Brantley
@Rollie Lingers: Iannetta
@one: Sure, in some leagues.
@Enrique: Vazquez
JP, Martin, Wieters, Soto…can I get a rank ‘em from the congregation?
Jennings or Belt in a keeper league?
Who do you like better Thome or Reddick?
Drop Luke Scott for Morse? Also, what is your take on Allen Craig? Is he gonna run with a full time job?
@ivebeenupforthreedaysstraight: Figured that’s what you meant about 10 seconds after hitting “submit.” Funny suggestions.
@Smell The Golve: Love the new definition!
Reimold or S. Smith?
Two part question. As always Grey, any advice proffered can be assumed to be received with the sincerest gratitude:
1. Would you deal Beckett for Pence in a 12-team redraft? Context is a bit confusing so I won’t go into it too deep, just say that I’m short a hitter for the moment (either 3B or OF since I have Alex Gordon to swing between the two) in a league with shallow benches because I’m trying to hold Rauch and Frasor to see if I can pull another closer and because I have Wright, Sandoval, and Heyward all hurt. At the very least, Sandoval should be back soon, while Heyward and Wright are kind of in wait-and-see purgatory.
2. Would it be wiser to sell Liriano for a lesser outfielder, since I’m more looking for a stopgap than long term answer anyway? What kind of return do you think I should look for?
@Telemachus: Not a huge fan of Young. I like Desmond for MI.
@Wilsonian: Weiters
@Wilsonian: Belt
@one: Reddick
@Jack the Ripper: Go with Morse…Craig’s worth trying for the time being.
after reimolds big day today, should he be on my radar?
@Mark: 1. Yup 2. Yes, it’s better.
@lopes: In certain leagues….
I have Justin Upton.. would you trade him away for any of these combinations?
Dunn/Heyward
Dunn/Stanton
Stanton/Heyward
Not exactly please right now with you advice on starting Scherzer . . .
Morse or Reddick? Thanks
Crawford is trying to make up for the first 5 weeks of the season in about 3 games. He is en fuego right now.
@Grey:
big mistake to start scherzer today .
i was going to give him a shot before you ok’d his start to the kiwi .
imagine you’ll hear from him .
Iannetta over Lecroy? You really think so?
@Danny Tanner: possibly; yes; yes
All gains in WHIP and ERA over the last week,
are now being undone by Scherzer at Fenway.
7H, 7ER, 2BB/1K, 2IP
Looks like you will need to sit SP’s when they face
Boston. Hard to overcome too many 2IP/7ER outings!
@Danny Tanner: Stanton/Heyward
@biggie: Morse
Thanks Grey. How about Reimold or Reddick? If Reimold, would you take him over Morse too? Thanks again.
Can you rank the following as CI for ROS…
Smoak, Gordon, Hosmer…Thanks
@ Grey: with Grady scheduled to come off the DL this weekend, would you recommend picking him up? As you know, he was swinging a very hot bat before getting hurt. I would probably have to drop Gardner.
scherzer was due to go BOOM, i wouldn’t have thrown him vs. a Red Sox team that just got kick started by my tribe…. if crawford starts being crawford that line up is about ready to score 10 runs a game (exxagerration) but for reals, they’re going to be scary….
@biggie: i like morse,if you have bench room to see if reimold gains full share ab,s but right now he,s splitting ab,s with 2 or 3 guys
@biggie: Morse
@Brew Crew: Gordon, Smoak…
@Bob: Sure
Yeah, I started him. But Grey didn’t put him into the SP slot. That one’s on me.
Zambrano is topping out with his fastball at 87 MPH according to WGN. Not good.
Ugh. Reyes doubles into RF, takes third on a throwing error back to the infield by Fukudome, and scores on a throwing error to third by Darwin Barney. This team needs a visit from Tom Emanski.
Reimold or Reddick? Thanks.
Drop Brian Roberts and Pick up Morse?
@ Grey: sorry, but just to confirm…you say sure to go ahead and drop Gardner for Grady?
Gotta love Yahoo. MLB says Kendrick is placed on the DL yet they don;t update their crap before his game goes off today. Asswipes
@Grey: who do you like more for ROS, Danny Duffy or Derek Holland? Holland worries me as they’re talking that Texas is looking for a reliever and will possibly move Feliz to the rotation, plus Webb is looking like he’s going to come off DL soon.
@Grey Have to replace Howie at 2b. What do you think of SeanRod as a replacement? The vice-president just went on the DL so he may see more playing time.
I would help out Neftali Feliz, but only if she puts out.
And Utley goes yard!
Wow, Sawx put up 28 runs in the last 2 days and Youk is 1/5 with a run scored during that time. Maybe I should just give up this week.
@Eddie: Yuck
@Eddie: Ha!
@biggie: Reimold
@B-rude: Sure
@Bob: Yup
@Mr2Bits: Ha
@The Talented Mr. Douche Bag: Holland
@Howard: If that’s the best you got…
@Tom Emanski: Ha!
@Grey: holland or Carmona?
Grey, with Sizemore coming back, who should I drop?
I’m thinking maybe Smoak, as Pena’s heating up (slide Pena from UTIL to CI). Not sure I can support both Reynolds and Pena, though, b/c of the AVG hit. Other 3B options are Headley, Rolen, maybe Callaspo if someone doesn’t grab him off the WW today.
3B Reynolds; CI Smoak; OF Tabata, AJones, Rasmus, Krispie, Sizemore, McCutchen; UTIL Pena
Thank you
Grey, I’d like to pick between Mark Reynolds and Eric Hosner for my Utility spot. I’m in a 10 team ESPN league 5×5 H2h and my worst batting catagory is HRs, which I’m 4th in the league in. Who would you keep? Thanks!!!
@ Grey / Commenters
here’s a crazy question for the rest of the season, who would you rather have… Joe Mauer or JP Arencibia. I think the answer is not as obvious as you would think…
@Mr2Bits: Youk is a dick. All indications are that he actually IS a dick ‘in real life’, but his non-contribution over the last two days makes him a dick in fantasy terms as well.
@Grey: You must have got your Scherzer notes mixed up with your Kennedy ones (emoticon).
@The Talented Mr. Douche Bag: I personally would rather have JP, but that’s just me. I’m not a fan of Mauer, seems like a likeable enough guy, but for fantasy speak, he gives us nothing other than average. I’d rather have a .250 catcher who could hit 25-30 bombs and drive in 80-100 over a .320 catcher with 10 bombs and 80-100. And for the rest of the year, I don’t think Mauer gets to much more than 60 ribbies.
anyone else here morrow owners that would love to see a glimpse of what we thought we drafted
@Steve:
retracted the trade offer .
it’s safe to go home again .
@chata: I’m just flattered that you think someone on that team is worth having.
Like my team slogan says, I wish it was 2012 already.
@Wilsonian: I’m with you on that man, it’s crazy to think about how far Mauer has fallen over the last 2 years. Still teams that spend high draft picks or high roto $ to get him on their teams, and he just can’t stay healthy, and when he is healthy, he can’t hit
If I can get Bruce for Phillips (I have Pedroia) and Gardner I pretty much have to do it, right?
@AL KOHOLIC:
hoping for 14 scoreless innings tonight .
7 from each .
@AL KOHOLIC: The Kiwis are on the move in the keeper…
@The Talented Mr. Douche Bag: Holland
@bogbert: Reynolds…
@manfromearth: Reynolds
@Steve: Yeah
@Derrick: Sure
@Steve: good,because i cant get anything going,really thought i had a chance with verlander,C.C and chacin going the other night,ha ended with like a 7 era and 2 whip after frank jumped in to help
Do you like LoMo more than Morse or Reimold?
Cheers.
@Steve:
yeah , we’re all suffering with rios and uggla .
3 Wins , at this point , would garner you 5.5 points .
seems like you should be trying to take up a position in that category .
Just dropped Laroche for Morse…then saw Hosmer hit the ww. Attempt to get Hosmer and drop Morse?
@chata: Yeah – I should be streaming like crazy. Watch this space…
Are Ibanez, Delmon Young, Torii Hunter or Torres an upgrade over Hosmer? This is for a bench spot in a H2H league.
Also, Stephen Drew or Lowrie?
@Steve:
yeah , had that trade worked out in your favor , you could have regaled
the troops with tales about over-paying for saves .
@bogbert: @Grey: I was really unclear, sorry. Let me try again. With Sizemore coming back, I have too many OF+UTIL. I could (1) keep Pena and move him to CI (dropping Smoak) or (2) drop an OF.
CI: Smoak; OF: Tabata, AJones, Rasmus, Krispie, Sizemore, McCutchen; UTIL Pena
@Steve:
this from al melchior @ cbssports :
“…after 46 games, Alex Rios is the only hitter with at least 120 at-bats who has yet to get a flyball base hit on a ball in play.”
In my NL only league I need to replace 3B after Wright and Alvarez have gone down. Weekly roster moves so I can wait a couple days, but here’s what’s out there.
Chris Johnson, Jose Lopez, Wigginton, Descalso, Casey Blake, Tejada.
Also, replace Freeman with Belt? Freddie Free has been so yawnstipating
@bogbert: Thanks.
Final definition could be:
The continued ERA swelling and WHIP infection of a useless appendage/bullpen that provides no real value, only pain, discomfort, and in rare cases death of the owner
Ex. Soria has been horrible lately but the Royals have a nasty case of bullpendicitis behind him so I’m forced to power through it.
And now I have to figure out a phrase for when one of your pitchers tears his elbow and is headed to Dr. Freeze one night (dlr) only to see your replacement pick up leave a game early with shoulder soreness the next day but not before taking a nice sized dump on your ERA for the day (thank you Homer Bailey and your 4 IP and 4 ER today).
Think I have the phrase for that already…MOTHER F#$KER!!!!!
Also, it’s probably a total crap shoot, but who comes out of the Dodgers closer sweepstakes? It’s like no one wants to talk about that shituation. What’s the one pitcher you think can come out of that crap heap and be the closer in 2-4 weeks.
Lots of catcher questions, but who do you like for the rest of the year between
Posada
Napoli
Ianetta
Arencibia
Thanks.
@Grey: Is Trumbo going to lose starts to Russell Branyan? Because that would be infuriating.
@fred d.: Yup
@Busta: I’d hold.
@EG: Eh…Drew…
@bogbert: Drop Smoak
@chata: Wow
@Ian: Johnson and Belt…
@Smell The Golve: Ha! Nice…
@Ian: Padilla
@Connor: Iannetta
@Eddie: Hope not.
Hey Grey,
I was offered a deal and wanted to know ur thoughts. My overall team has been pretty solid with whip being my worst category. I think I need pitching overall more then hitting though.
I get Romero, Hudson and Logan Morrison
He gets B. Phillips, Dunn and axford.
Im replacing phillips with murphey (til lawrie or ackley come up), and have Bell and K-Rod.
thanks
@jamesmetsfan: Eh, not crazy about it.
@Grey:
so , let’s suppose that next year i draft 13 chicago white sox players ,
and 13 minnesota twins players .
then , when they play each other 19 times during the season ,
would the net effect on my roto score be 50% for those 19 games ?
theoretically custin’ .
Offered Soto for Lowrie (12 Team ROTO/2 Catcher league) Accepting leaves me
MI: Utley, Rollins, Walker, Beckham, Allen Craig 2b/of
C: Santana, Ianetta, Soto
1) Accept??
2) Which if any of Catchers would you drop??
(Behind 18 starts at C)
Thanks Grey…
@chata: Um, yeah.
@Brew Crew: I’d take Soto. Iannetta…
Who is the best for potential SAGNOF or closing duties out of Benoit, Peralta, Isringhausen, Paulye, Coleman, MacDougal, Guerra, Braddock?
grey burris going to start enough to use for steals at ss
@AL KOHOLIC: or 2nd
Hey again,
referring to post #208, would you like it if haren and j.sanchez replaced romero and hudson?
thanks
I have just been offered Ichiro, B. Colon, and Charlie Morton for Josh Johnson… wHat do you think?
Giants hadn’t lost a 1-run game at home this season. They lost two this series where the Marlins swept them.
Boo-yah.
Grey:
in my 6×6 h2h league, been offered Ellsbury and Aramis for Torrriiii and Youk. what say you?
@Tom Emanski: Guerra
@AL KOHOLIC: I saw he stole one today and he’s been playing. Worth a shot in deep leagues if you’re crazy desperate for steals.
@jamesmetsfan: To help your WHIP? No. I’m also guessing Dan Hudson. Trade Phillips for one solid starter. Or Dunn for one of Hudson or Romero.
@jessegeeeee: Blech
@Eddy: Ha
@Joel: I’d want Youk.
@AL KOHOLIC:
well , Al , ….. i came close with comment #190
it’ll go a long way , in my h2h league , towards off-setting
scherzer’s outing today .
Jays to go with three-closer system. Not a committee, kids. A three-closer system:
http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110526&content_id=19620398&vkey=news_tor&c_id=tor
@chata: yea a lot better so far
Come on White Sox. I need me some Jesse Crain Hold action.
@Steve: Bollocks.
How about..
Neftali Feliz is a hurler amongst swine.
Adam Dunn is hot garbage. I’m starting to think he doesn’t turn it around and I’m tired of waiting…enjoy your golden sombrero, jackass.
@Wilsonian: yeah he looks like poooooooooooo
@Steve: But some Jesse Crain Win action would be cool too.
@AL KOHOLIC: I have the worthless bastard on all 3 teams. I can’t drop him on 2 of em, but he’s gotta be droppable in my 8 team league if this goes on for a few more days.
Reimold or Trumbo?
@Steve: Perfect
@Voidoid: Ha
@Wilsonian: Yup
@Flunkie: Reimold
@Grey:
Kind of picking up on what Wilsonian said, how long do we hold onto Dunn?
Obviously not talking about dropping him. But I’m in a H2H 12-team OBP league. Is he a hold or a sell?
@Eddy: Not sure what you can sell him for right now. Plus, he’s the kind of guy that can hit 10 homers in two weeks and all’s good. I know, be nice if that happened soon.
@Eddy: yeah if you drafted him,pay the price,i did however just dump figgins,i got him off waivers a month ago,looked like he was getting it going for a minute then this 4-50 thing,plus he is getting caught when he does run
@AL KOHOLIC: I’ll let you know when I’m up against Figgy in H2H, so you can pick him up – that f***wit will be red-hot then, you can take it to the bank.
@Grey: 5 x 5 roto weekly league, is betemit worth starting over a. hill (i have some 2b/3b flexibility with m. young).
@Grey:
I’m wondering if I could somehow spin Dunn for McCutchen by sweetening it with a pick. Would McCutchen make sense in this lineup? Or is Dunn better suited? 12-team OBP keeper
C-Napoli
1B-Miggy
2B-Aaron Hill
3B-Aramis Ramirez
SS-Ian Desmond
OF-CarGo
OF-Morse
OF-Ellsbury
Util-Dunn
Util-Tabata
DL-Lind
DL-Wright
@AL KOHOLIC:
I can’t stand him, man. He literally has zeroes across the board with a .143 OBP on the week. I’m dropping him for ARam first thing Monday morning.
hey, which side: drew/gio or tulo/colby lewis?
Yunel Escobar or Figgins?
has dunn entered jim thome territory ?
@herschel: For the time being.
@Eddy: Sure, try it. Gonna have to give a decent pick though.
@Exactly: Tulo
@milksteak: Figgy
napoli or lucroy?
yhl
@Steve: as you can tell by the offer you just rejected,im trying to deal dunn,i still think he hits 30+ but i need to pull my average up in the originals
is anyone else getting these dumb popups saying razzball scroll down and a few others
@AL KOHOLIC: If I really needed power I’d probably have been all over it, but the guys you wanted are my hedge against Mini Donkey and Krispie (and Espinosa).
another one says start below fold,just started getting them tonight,ive backed out and no help,ill shut all the way down i quess
@potus: Lucroy
@AL KOHOLIC: Haven’t seen them, who are they for?
Lots of Reimold questions today.
Moreland, Reimold, D Brown, Morse, Sands
IN what order would you rank them, I currently own them all but Reimold.
@Grey: must be in my computer,its a pop up box with blue line at top saying razzball something then in white under it asking me stuff like scroll down etc.,im rebooting
@Grey: If you’ve got Padilla in a 16-team H2H that counts Holds (and have no open DL slots) would you drop Padilla for Rubby?
Related, best 2 of 4 DL stashes: J Santana, Beachy, Bird, Padilla
@Dad: Byrd. This aint fantasy NBA circa 1984.
Did I read here that Homer Bailey would get about 5 good starts in and then either implode or go on the DL? If so, well played. If not, well…I’ll just take credit for it myself. I [you] am so smart!
@Dad: 16 team,beachy and bird,grab magic to
@AL KOHOLIC: something in the new Internet Explorer my computer downloaded keeps popping a box up at the bottom of the screen…it’s something about an unsafe certificate or something along those lines.
@Grey: do you like Kelly Jo over Zorilla and/or Uggla? He’s looking like he’s turned the right corner. Hit a straight up bomb to deep right center off Street tonight.
News/Analysis Headlines Preseason Outlook
Rockies part ways with Lopez : The Rockies designated infielder Jose Lopez for assignment on Thursday. He batted just .210 with two homers and eight RBI in 124 at-bats. Eric Young Jr. is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Colorado to take his place on the roster.
(Updated 05/27/2011)
Inj
@Grey: hopefully,young jr will be my sb guy,instead of burris while kendrick is out and replcing figgins
News/Analysis Headlines Preseason Outlook
Lawrie on the way soon?: Manager John Farrell may have tipped his hat ever so slightly prior to Friday’s game against the Astros. When Farrell was asked by the media whom he considered his everyday third baseman, the manager surprisingly responded with four names. “Jayson Nix, John McDonald and Edwin Encarnacion and when Brett Lawrie comes up, there’s another one,” Farrell told the Toronto Sun. Lawrie was acquired from the Brewers in the Shawn Marcum deal last December. He is hitting .335 with nine homers and 32 RBI for Triple-A Las Vegas.
(
i think i like lawrie at 2nd better but im sure with all the injured 3rd basemen alot of guys will plug him in there when he gets his 10 games in
I’d go with the glossary term: “Blowser”
