Last week, I talked about how much the Hitter Tron liked Chris Carter for the first week of May here.  Don’t question the Hitter Tron!  Carter has 5 homers through Friday’s games (3 for this head to head week) and perhaps more amazingly, he only has 5 strikeouts in 25 at bats.  In April, he had 26 strikeouts in 74 at bats.  Obviously we know Carter well enough at this point to know his .283 average is a sham.  That said, 40 homers isn’t out of the question at all.  Unless you’re getting a quality offer for him, I’m probably just holding for the home runs.  Here’s a recap of the articles posted this week on Razzball followed by a brief look at the week ahead:

Grey brought us his daily notes throughout the week with Dan Pants providing us notes on Saturday morning.  You can find all of those articles here.

J-FOH gave us his SAGNOF Report giving you options by both sides of the S in SAGNOF.  Just thinking about using one of the Reds relievers for saves makes me sick.

M@’s updated Hitter Rankings focused on Jed Lowrie who’s had a solid week in the games he’s started.

J.B.’s Pitcher Rankings began with a very nice breakdown of Sean Manaea‘s start against the Astros.  His boy Joe Ross finally got some strikeouts!

Ross was talked about again this week on the Razzball Baseball Podcast.  Amazing line for the title and thanks to them for answering my questions!

MattTruss’s RCL Update focused on how to deal with Dee Gordon‘s suspension if you drafted him.  He gives you some quality options to consider (Spoiler: SAGNOF!)

Big Magoo looks at three pitchers this week who have had a big swing in their ownership percentage in his One Man’s Trash post.  He leads off with Rich Hill who is also a discussion point on the podcast.

Son’s Buy/Sell Article  looks at guys who had a week.  He loves him some Michael Conforto and understandably.

Malamoney’s post looks at the top pitching prospects in baseball along with the hitters who have got off to amazing starts.

Ralph Lifshitz previewed the 2016 MLB Draft with his top 10 prospects.  For those in deep dynasty leagues or if you want to know more about this draft at the top, it’s a must read.

JB provided us with his weekly update of the Razzball Elite League.  So much madness!

Big Magoo’s Bear or Bull piece is on Yasiel Puig.  He was very close to being my bust of the year so I don’t own him anywhere.  Find out if Big Magoo thinks I’m right or wrong at this point!

Phil B’s gave us his OPS Leagues update with who he thinks is the best player at each position as well as an upside play.

Malamoney’s Points Leagues update gives you some good advice on Nick Markakis, who is a prime example of a player whose value drastically shifts in points leagues.

Smokey’s post on Closers looks at a bunch of players who have either a horrible K/9 rate or an outstanding one.

THE WEEK AHEAD

M@ looks at all Two-Start Pitchers for Week 6.  It’s an excellent post for people who have to set their lineups weekly.  To support this, there is always the Weekly Pitcher Planner and the Weekly Hitter Planner.

Streamonator is a big fan on Dan Straily in Week 6.  Despite being only 1.7% owned in ESPN leagues, Straily is the #11 pitcher for this coming week with his two starts coming against the Pirates and the Phillies.

Despite having a horrible start to the season, Hitter Tron really likes Pedro Alvarez.  Alvarez is the #23 hitter and is down to 13.6% ownership on ESPN.

As always, there are DraftKings posts every day for those who partake in the daily fantasy world.  DFSBot and Stackonator are also updated for your daily needs.

That’s all for now guys.  If you have any questions or comments, post them below and I’ll answer as soon as possible.  You can also find me on the hockey side of things at Razzball here.  Take care!
