The Pod returns with a hot new show full of yelling, weirdness, and even with some Grey stalking!  That’s right, we learn about someone Grey used to stalk while growing up, and mayyyyybe continues to stalk to this day…  Also on today’s show, we reply to some of your awesome comments from last week’s Pod post, Victor Martinez‘s hot start, and what to make of Brandon Drury.  Shocker!  Grey has fun pronouncing that name!  We then get into a hotly contested trade I made in the Perts RCL which I’m sure you commenters will endlessly ridicule, the Dee Gordon suspension, and hot pitching prospects getting called up.  There’s just so much going on, that Grey only had 3 or 4 tangents instead of his average 10!  Small sample size though, I imagine on the year that will regress to the mean of about 10…  Here’s our latest edition of the Razzball Baseball Podcast:

I listened to my first Razzball podcast – this one – you and Grey are entertaining.

Your discussion of maximizing at-bats for counting stats in an ESPN-like league makes sense to me.

How does that approach change when you have a games limit for position players in Yahoo! leagues?

I have a tendency to start the players I like and only start my backups when I have an injury to a starter. My Yahoo! benches are normally not good enough to demand starting time whenever possible.

Thanks…

Mike.

No question. Just wanted to go on record that I agree with Grey. Devin Mesoraco is one ugly motherfucker.

Which NA SS has the better offensive upside?

Turner or Arcia? ETAs on both? I’m tempted to stash Turner as my single bench bat

Eugenio is concerning me

@JJ:
On a side note, which DL stash do you like the best out of WHEELER/COBB/DESCLAFANI/RYU?

Also, mid May a safe spot to add arcia? I don’t like holding prospects for over 3 weeks to a month. 12 teams ESPN standard H2H.

I know the sky is supposedly falling on felix but you don’t seem as panicked….yet. Would you flip pedroia and felix for deGrom? My 2b plug in would then be Lawrie.

Fantastic episode per usual, JB, and cheers for the comments segment shoutout. Of course, with your international audience in mind, the ideal squatting website would be Razzbol.com. How is this not owned?!

Terry Giliam! I’ve had him on my mind as I’ve been thinking about picking up Jed Lowrie recently. I kind of juxtaposed the A’s Lowrie with Sam Lowry, the protagonist in Gilliam’s “Brazil.” Great movie.

Speaking of making moves to add guys, are we still preaching patience on preseason Razzball favorites? Kris Davis is starting to hit (he’s around .300 over the last 15 days), Schoop has a modest 5-game hitting streak going (and has kept me from adding Lowrie so far), Castillo is the premier catcher you drafted late, and even DeShields may get things going. It’s May so we have a month of stats to go on, but these guys might be OK. Who are you still holding on to?

Thanks and have a great week, JB!

@JB Gilpin: nice! Tx

Trying to fix my draft day gaffe. Back2back selections. Noah, Stras, Archer, Carrasco in my queue. In that order, but not even in the same tier for ESPN. Of course I bail and pick the latter two! Why did I let ESPN influence me? Might be low self esteem issues LOL. Punishment deserved!!!!!!! Keep up the good work….

@JB Gilpin:

Ironically, Stras injury history spooked me vs Carrasco. Long season. I can still catch up!
