1. 3B Cam Smith | 22 | AA | 2025

The 14th overall pick by the Cubs in this summer’s draft, Smith skipped blissfully through the A-levels in just 27 games, blasting six home runs in 15 Low-A games and slashing .333/.421/.500 in 12 High-A games before rounding out the season with five games with Double-A Tennessee. Houston saw enough to target the 6’3” 224 lb righty in the Kyle Tucker trade. Smith gives the club a ready-soon third-base prospect in the wake of Alex Bregman’s departure, though with Isaac Paredes also in town, Smith may have to try some outfield.

Happy New Year, everyone. We are one day closer to the start of the baseball season, which is really all we care about.

Today I tackle the second large group of player rankings in the Top 400 Dynasty Players for 2025. This is the 300-201 player grouping. After today, the final 200 players will be broken down into groups of 25.

Welcome back for another week of Top Dynasty Keepers for 2025.

We’ve taken care of the pitchers and the catchers, so this week my attention turns to the infield and first baseman specifically. Overall, this is a pretty solid position, aided in part by a host of players who also play another position.

In a 12-team or 16-team league, who should be able to find a strong starting first baseman for your team. But there are still some solid players ranked in Tier 3 and there are quite a few players ranked in Tier 4 who have really good upside if you can get past their growing pains

With that said, let’s get on with the rankings.

Astros 3B Zach Dezenzo (24) debuted last night after graduating Triple-A in just 11 games. He slashed .391/.472/.739 with four home runs and three stolen bases in those 11 games, so kudos to the ‘Stros for waving him onward to the majors. Dezenzo’s a large dude at 6’4” 220 lbs and brings easy power from the right side. Heads up in the Crawford boxes.
