Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! It was a tough headline to figure out this week.  I came very close to running with a Reid Detmers breakdown, especially after his 11-strikeout manhandling of the Royals on Saturday night. But the more I thought about it, the clearer it all became. It was time to get Pfaadt. And, […]

Razzballers, welcome back to another week of two-start pitcher rankings! Pitching rotations post trade deadline have begun to take shape and arms are returning from the IL as we ramp towards the fantasy playoffs. With only a couple of Ace’s going this week there is plenty to pick from in the “Good” two-start category. My […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! “Well, somebody Tolle-d me that you had a boyfriend”? Uh, hey Las Vegas rock band “The Killers”, I wouldn’t necessarily call Payton Tolle a boyfriend, but if you said that I had a Fantasy Baseball mancrush? Well, that’d be a tough one to argue. And, dearest reader, I don’t know what […]

Welcome to the post trade deadline two-start pitcher rankings! Let’s revisit some of the arms moved at the deadline and their potential fantasy impact. Tarik Skubal – This one hurt… but as a Tigers fan, I do love Skubal. This was a key acquisition for the Dodgers, but I think expectations need to be tempered.  […]

It was a night for juiced baseballs at Tropicana Field last night…But I suppose someone told the Tampa Bay Rays they weren’t allowed to use them, too. The South-Siders from Chicago rolled into St. Petersburg and rolled through one of our favorite marshmallow tossers, Nick Martinez (6 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 2 […]

1. 3B Jordan Lawlar | 23 | MLB | 2023

The sixth overall pick in the 2021 draft, Lawlar has graduated prospect status on days served, but he’s still sitting at just 108 plate appearances, so he sort of snuck onto this list. He’s spent parts of three seasons in Triple-A, most recently slashing .313/.403/.564 with 11 home runs and 20 stolen bases in 63 games this season. He has nothing left to prove in Reno, but shortstop belongs to Geraldo Perdomo in Arizona, so Lawlar is set to open 2026 as the everyday third baseman. The defense might be shaky as he adapts to the big league hot corner, but this is a bright, flashing buy-low opportunity for a premium prospect even if his ETA cracks me up a bit here.

Rangers 1B Blaine Crim (28) signed for $5,000 after Texas took him in the 19th round of the 2019 draft, so it’s nice to see him working toward his first big league game check while Jake Burger tries to recapture his flavor in Triple-A. A right-handed hitter at 5’10” 200 lbs, he’s far from the prototypical first baseman and has had to smash his way through any number of questions blocking his path. He’s always had power but has fine tuned his plate skills throughout his journey and was striking out at just 16.7 percent clip through 28 games. His walk rate is down a tick, but the aggression is paying off, leading to seven home runs and a slash line of .313/.365/.565. Has kind of a Christian Walker vibe. Better to add him now and ask questions later, I think.
