Movers and Shakers: A Hill O’ Beans (My Mustache Has a Mustache – Grey’s a Biter) gained 10 points to jump from 89th to 15th this week. Amazingly, Mr. Hill O’Beans also manages the 13th-ranked team in the RCL, Smuttynose Winter (Dubbels, Tripels and Bocks). Well done!
Free Agents: Carter Capps (owned in 30 leagues) and Oliver Perez (43) were grabbed this week as Tom Wilhelmsen struggled. J.J. Putz is now owned in 60 leagues as his return nears. Ty Colvin’s return to the Mile High City saw his ownership jump to 78%. On the other hand, Tony Cingrani’s fell from 97% to 52% as he was relegated to the bullpen. Mike Carp (15 – 49) was added in 34 leagues, while DJ LeMahieu (7 – 21), Erasmo Ramirez (0 – 19) , Jose Iglesias (30 – 46), and Mike Zunino (0 – 27) also saw a boost in their ownership.

Team News: The overall ERA in the RCL is 3.63, but 39 teams have marks below 3.00, lead by 2.43 for The BallBusters (Something Something Mustache), which has helped them to 9th place in the Master Standings. 138 teams have an ERA of 4 or worse. The BBs drafted Stephen Strasburg in the second round (79.1 IP/2.50), Adam Wainwright in the 5th (103 IP/2.18), Hyun-Jin Ryu in the 21st (85.1 IP/2.85), and Shelby Miller in the 23rd (81.1 IP/2.21). Patrick Corbin (60.1 IP/2.50) and Andy Pettitte (6 IP/3.00) are the only other starters they have used.
EXPERTS: After nine weeks at the top, Mike Podhorzer (RotoGraphs) fell to third as Rudy blasted to the lead and into the top 40 overall. Offense was the key for Rudy as Sir Hitter-Tron guided him to Juan Pierre, Justin Ruggiano, Mike Carp, John Mayberry Jr, Jeff Baker, Steve Pearce, Leonys Martin, and Carlos Quentin while Ryan Braun hit the DL. That group was 25-for-69 (.362) in 20 games with 16 runs, 4 home runs, 11 RBI, and 5 stolen bases. Dr Roto slipped into second place on the strength of a .298 average, 2.67 ERA, and an amazing 0.78 WHIP in 54 innings. Check out the Doctor on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio every morning from 9-11 ET and follow him @DrRoto on twitter. Bret Sayre – Baseball Prospectus, made a big move, gaining 9 points to move ahead of Grey into 5th place, finishing the week with a 2.20 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Grey’s league-leading 7 wins helped him earn back 2-and-a-half of the 3-and-a-half he lost last week. You can find all Expert League unofficial Week 11 stats here.
Writers: Andrew Nordmeier finished in first place for the seventh straight week, though his lead was cut to 7.5 points. He led the league with an ERA of 1.99 and 0.84 WHIP. Joe Morris put up the best offensive numbers, hitting .318 with 55 runs, 14 home runs, 55 RBI, and 9 stolen bases. Check out all the writers’ week 11 stats. In the league’s 7th trade, JB acquired Desmond Jennings, Matt Moore, and Justin Masterson from Tehol for Jacoby Ellsbury.

Jeff Samardzija was traded three times, bringing back Ben Zobrist and Everth Cabrera in separate 1-for-1 deals, and youngsters Yasiel Puig and Jurickson Profar in the other. Matt Cain was exchanged for Adam Jones. Starling Marte and Freddie Freeman were packaged for Prince Fielder. In another league, Bautista was dealt with Hunter Pence and Kevin Gregg for Mike Trout and Tom Wilhelmsen. One lucky owner traded Troy Tulowitzki right before his injury for Everth Cabrera and Rafael Soriano. You can check out all the trades in the Fantasy Baseball Forums. Chalk It Up (International Razzball) have been struggling at the bottom of the RCL this season, but things fell into place for them as they earned the top team honors in Week 11.
