Trini (Psychic Friends Network – RCL 22) held onto first place in the Master standings, adding a point to make 108 total. Carlos Gonzalez hit .500 with 4 home runs and 9 RBI to pace the Psychics’ offense, while James McDonald gave up just 1 run in winning 2 games to anchor their pitching staff. Grunge Ball (RCL 16) and captainpyper (RCL 3)  gained 10 and 4 points respectively to move into a tie for second with 107 points.  The Schmo Hawks (Beef SAGNOF!) and NYC Matthole (Ones are GOOD right) are next with 104 points, followed by 4 teams with 103: The Fredsies (ECFBL), The Gaylords (Conshellation Prize), Tennessee Mash (RCL 25) and Big Magoo (Matthew Berry is a Tool). EVIL EVIES crept up a spot from 11th, giving the ECFBL 2 teams in the top 10. Defending champion Random ItalicizedVoice (Cracking The WHIP) moved into the picture, jumping 57 spots to 23rd place with 94 points. Now I Am LeMaster (RCL 44) made the biggest move this week, gaining 16 points to improve from 452nd to 264th place in the standings.

RCL 9 and the ECFBL continue to battle for the “Toughest League” title. Each has a competitive index of 104. It should be noted that 10 teams in RCL 9 are at least 10% ahead of the games started pace, compared to 3 teams in the ECFBL. This leaves the East Coast League in position for gains on the pitching side as the season progresses. With the season approximately one third completed, 60 starts would put you on pace for the 180-start limit.

Earned run averages continued to rise in the RCL. 109 teams had ERAs over 5 this week; 409 teams now have a season ERA of 3.50 or worse. 14 teams do have an ERA under 3, with Achilles’ team, Tennessee Mash, sporting  an RCL-best 2.63. Ones are GOOD right? is leading all leagues at 3.56. The overall average is 3.73, up from last year’s final league average of 3.58. Meanwhile, batting averages are holding steady at .268.

Expert League: The see-saw battle continued as Dalton Del Don (Rotowire Del Don) took back first place, pushing Rudy into second. The Rotowire team sits 32nd overall. Rudy actually moved up a spot to 50th. Grey continued to struggle at the plate, ranking 573rd for the week with a .211 average.

Trades: There were 8 trades this week, with the ECFBL again taking center stage with 2 big deals. The Fredsies, trying to hold on to first, decided they couldn’t wait for Matt Kemp to heal and sent him to Evil Evies for Andre Ethier. Fred had just traded Ethier last week for Dayan Viciedo and Emilio Bonifacio. The other trade saw Giancarlo Stanton, Desmond Jennings, Joel Hanrahan, and Rafael Betancourt dealt for Mike Trout, Nelson Cruz, Carlos Santana, Fernando Rodney, Casey Janssen, and Huston Street in a massive exchange. Elsewhere, Dan Haren was used to acquire a bat in 2 leagues, RCL 22 (Nelson Cruz) and Ones are GOOD, right? (Adam Dunn). Cruz was also traded for pitching in RCL 39, where Justin Verlander was the prize. You can find all the trades in the fantasy baseball forums. Look for the RCL under “Everything Else.”
