Greetings to you, Razzball Fam! Listen, the title is a stretch this week, but I am feeling festive in these latter days of summer. You know who isn’t feeling festive? A lot of people whose names I will mention in this article. Luckily, it was a pretty light week of injuries, but there are quite […]

Singing incredibly off-tune, “Oh honey, tramps like us! Baby, we were born to run!” Oh, sorry, I didn’t hear you walk in. I put on The Boss when I want clarity. It’s a Jersey thing, you may or may not understand. Born down in a dead man’s town! That’s Anaheim. A dead man’s town. It’s […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Greetings all, and welcome to that special time of year we call draft season. No, not fantasy baseball draft season, but it’s much more popular (yet much more boring in my humble opinion) cousin, fantasy football draft season. The reason I mention it, is that it always seems like the first week of August or […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? Those who read my first article will hopefully remember that I did a deep dive into the merits of wOBA and xwOBA while attempting to illustrate how they can be used together to help identify underperforming hitters. As great as it is to have two stats that can give you a quick snapshot view of every hitter’s […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Friday Night gives us a fun 13 game slate. As always, my process has highlighted a few spots that I am more interested in than others and a few potential spots where ownership may congregate in a way that will make those plays -EV. Let’s look at those ownership spots first. While I actually like […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Brewers rang the bell of Ding Dong City and said, “Ding Dong, we’re home. We’re now the Mayors here. Hit the bricks. Yes, we have paperwork to prove it! What do we look like? Squatters?” Then the Brewers pulled out yesterday’s box score and showed them their paperwork for the keys to Ding Dong City. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? There have been 264 father/son duos in MLB history. True combo meals! The most famous are Bobby and Barry Bonds, Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr., and Vladimir Guerrero and Valdimir Guerrero Jr. Prince and Cecil Fielder both hit 50 home runs in a season while Craig and Cavan Biggio both hit for the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hello my dear friends. I apologize for the absence, but I was getting my butt into a master’s program (because one masters wasn’t enough), and then some family stuff popped up. There will be no grand introduction today, as I’m already seven minutes past my deadline. I’m happy to be back, but burdened by teams populated with Julio Rodriguez, Carlos Correa, and Nolan Jones.
Please, blog, may I have some more? The 2024 Major League Baseball season is about 20 weeks old (only two months left in the season!), which means we finally have meaningful numbers that count to start evaluating our fantasy squads. With only 27 weeks in the fantasy baseball season, even a few weeks of information should help guide us to decisions about […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? Few things are worse than seeing a guy in the midst of a breakout season go down with injury. Jordan Westburg was that guy and it sucks that he may miss the rest of the season. Naturally you will need a replacement. He may not be available in your league but if he is he should be your top add. Luis Garcia has come out of the break on a mission, just to be clear, I mean the Luis Garcia who plays second base for the Nationals and breakout season he is having. He’s about to pass last year’s point totals and we still have two more months. And over the past month he has really turned it on, batting over .350 with 6 home runs. That’s a very nice month but he’s actually been pretty good all year long. How has he accomplished this you might ask. Well he’s making better contact and hitting the ball harder more often so his batting average is about 20 points higher than last season. He has also unlocked his speed and the 18 bags he’s swiped have more than doubled his career total. And while his 19 doubles don’t put him anywhere near the top of the leader board he is very close to surpassing his previous career high. Power is a similar story, although he has already set a career high in that department. Roll all that together and you end up with a pretty solid player. If he’s still available, you might want to change that, he can help your ream down the stretch.
