Welcome back to another riveting edition of Razzball Ambulance Chasers, your fantasy baseball injury analysis with a dash of buffoonery and goofery. We have some pitcher injuries in this edition, but the injuries don’t sound as devastating as usual. There are many options available to cover for those infirmed: Bowden Francis, Edwin Uceta, Joel Payamps, […]

A Crying, Laughing Emoji sits in a doctor’s office when an emoji with a stethoscope enters and checks its head. Nothing. The Doctor Emoji holds its ear to the Crying, Laughing Emoji’s head to see if it hears anything. Doctor Emoji explains, “I think I see the problem, you don’t have a brain.” That’s an […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Well, it’s been another rough week on the injury front — I don’t know about you, but I’m in a pretty frustrated place given that we still have a week left in August. The Austin Riley, Ketel Marte, and Zach Eflin IL trips, were, I’m afraid, the nails in the coffin for a couple of […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Everyone knows the old investor adage of “buy the dip”, whereby you target and buy undervalued stocks that are priced low as opposed to chasing hot stocks that are already at or near all-time highs. Well, this is a different type of stocks column, one which focuses on fantasy assets and where I convince you […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? This is a large slate we are facing with 14 games and plenty of options. It is wholly appropriate to feel lost in trying to figure out who to roster. Do you stack one team, two or none? Many people will be submitting lineups into GPPs that were built by AI builders using projection systems. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I’m going to take you back to my top 100 for the 2nd half from about a month ago…[time machine spinning, you slowly growing back hair]…There, you’re 20 pounds lighter–how much Taco Bell do you eat?–and you can read where I wrote, “My 2nd starter, Corbin Burnes, has sub-8.5 K/9. He’s clearly not right. And […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?If you know what the title is in reference to, then congratulations are in order. You’re an old f’er. I wasn’t into punk music, but the Ramones were one of the OGs and, like the smell of cheese making Jerry float in the air, that is likely how it entered my consciousness. Anyways, I had […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The 2024 Major League Baseball season only has about five weeks left, and even less if you’re dealing with fantasy baseball playoffs. With only 27 total weeks in the fantasy baseball season, even a couple of weeks of information should help guide us to decisions about who deserves a valuable roster spot on our teams […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? Catcher is not a position that is known for offensive prowess unless you hav the great Buster Posey in mind. Joey Bart was supposed to be that replacement. Just a short time ago he was looked at as the heir to Buster in the Bay. Following a legend is tough because everyone compares you to him but whatever the reason, Bart struggled to find his footing in SF. Changing venues from Oracle to PNC seems to have revitalized him and he’s shown power and average that never quite materialized with the Giants. I’m happy to see him get things together and you’ll be happy to see him on your team if catcher has been causing you some headache.
Please, blog, may I have some more?We need to appreciate the greatness that we are witnessing. We cannot let the extraordinary become ordinary. Last night, Juan Soto went 2-for-3, 2 runs, 5 RBIs with his 36th homer. When he hit his homer in the first at-bat, his last eight hits at that point were all homers. If Babe Ruth did that […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The Cubs released closer Hector Neris, which probably makes Jorge Lopez the closer for now. The club also recalled deadline acquisition RHP Jack Neely, a former Yankees prospect who checks in at a gargantuan 6’8” 245 lbs. He’s thrown 6.2 scoreless innings with a 52 percent strikeout rate for Triple-A Iowa since the trade that sent him there. RHP Porter Hodge is the early favorite for the gig in 2025 until further notice, specifically a notice of the club getting involved in the reliever reclamation market as it often does. RHP Tyson Miller has been excellent this season but doesn’t feature the wipeout arsenal most teams want in a guy who handles the ninth. Meanwhile, jettisoned Cubbie farmhands RHPs Manuel Rodriguez and Jeremiah Estrada are key pieces of other teams’ bullpens. I won’t count RHP Hunter Bigge because he at least was traded for something. Can’t win ‘em all, I realize, but here’s hoping Neely gets a real opportunity to nail down a long-term roster spot.
Please, blog, may I have some more? This week’s topic was going to be about taking a team from 15th place to 5th, with an outside chance at the top 2. Stick to it, make some buy low trades, stash the IL and NA, yadda yadda yadda. My team though was heavily counting on Austin Riley. If you missed it, Riley is […]
