Welcome back to another foray into the Top 100 hitters for the 2025 fantasy baseball season. Last week, we covered the first few rounds and the top 20 hitters in our draft rankings. This week, we dive into the players with slightly wider variations in their potential outcomes to close out the top 40 hitters. Digging into this part of the draft is like ordering your favorite coffee: you know you’re getting good value with your medium latte, but every once in a while, the barista goes rogue with an extra shot of espresso, giving you more than you bargained for. Terrible analogies aside, this part of the draft should still provide reliable value. However, if you’re not careful, you might be reaching beyond a player’s true ability. Buckle up, grab that medium latte, and let’s break down the top 40 hitters for the 2025 fantasy baseball season.

Here’s a link to my write up of the American League version of this league:
In that article, I discuss my approach to this league: specifically, that I try to get money spent in smart places early, sit through the middle, and battle it out for every dollar in the end game. That’s kind of my general approach in auctions but especially in this one because the money is twice as fake here. Once you’re full at 2B, SS, MI and U, you cannot nominate or bid on a middle infielder. Oh and something I forgot to mention last time is the reserve draft. The auction only covers the starting lineups, then we switch to a seven-round reserve draft to close out the night. This creates something of a false auction that leaves value pools commensurate to the depth at each position.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back everyone! After weeks of counting down the top dynasty players starting at No. 400, this is the week when the final 25 players are revealed.
It’s been a long journey, but a fun one. But the end is here so let’s look at the breakdown and then get to the rankings.
Not surprising, the largest group of players fall in the Age 20-24 range with 12 this week. On the other end, the 30-year-old and up group, I still have four players making my top 24. But when you see who those four players are, you shouldn’t be surprised to see them here.
And if you have been wondering where all the top outfielders have been, well, you found them. Twelve outfielders make my final top 25 players, followed by four shortstops. This shouldn’t be too surprising as the top athletes are playing at short or in the outfield.
Age of Players
Age 20-24 – 12
Age 25-29 – 9
Age 30+ – 4
Position Breakdown
SP – 3
1B – 1
2B – 1
SS – 4
3B – 3
OF –12
IF/OF – 1
Anyway, enough small talk. Let’s get to the rankings.
Please, blog, may I have some more?March just began and I am already sick of the injury train that is rolling. Luckily, we have avoided significant issues but those are inevitable. Sports are not kind to players’ bodies. We in the fantasy community should be ever grateful for the talents we witness daily. Every day I scroll the horrible, no-good X/Twitter […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What’s poppin’, Razzpimples? I figure it’s about that time of year when y’all wanna see my rankings. Thing is, I don’t rightly enjoy them. They’re format-dependent, and they’re apt to change between now and Opening Day for some reason or another (injury, free agent signing, etc.). Plus, we’ve got preseason Player Raters for that sorta […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The excitement is in the air, as a week of spring games are in the books and we are that much closer to baseball that counts. This week, it’s time for another check-in on some players that may not be anywhere close to pinging the regular fantasy radar, but may warrant a mention for those […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?If you’ve heard of the Three Body Problem, you know that while it is possible to model the movement of two objects orbiting each other in space, it is impossible to accurately model the movement of three (or more) objects orbiting each other in space Modeling a baseball lineup over the course of a 162 […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?In our 81st episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer are joined by Sam Wirsching of the Pallazzo Podcast and The Dynasty Guru to preview the AL West teams. For each team in the division, we each pick a player that for fantasy purposes we would buy, sell, and pick to click. You can find us on bluesky […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? This Wednesday the RazzSlam starts; this Sunday I take part in a LABR draft. Wish me luck! I’m kidding. I won this league last year, and plan on winning again with my giant Brian…brian…Siri, how do you spell the thing in your head you think with? How did I win last year? How do I […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?No Major League Baseball team has played more than seven games as of February 26, and none of them have actually counted for anything, but what else are we going to use to evaluate who we need for our fantasy baseball squads? This early in Spring Training, we are living and dying by every home […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? Not saying this is everything — it’s not, we will get to everything — but Corbin Burnes‘s last 2nd half went 3.69 ERA, 1.18 WHIP with a 8.4 K/9 in 75 2/3 IP. I’m sorry, you’re drafting him where? In the top 40 overall? He’s the 7th starter off the board on average? I am […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Orelvis Martinez hit a homer. I have a hard time believing he won’t be part of that infield this year. I know wins and losses matter, but giving 900 plate appearances to Ernie Clement and Davis Schneider is not a viable long term approach, and with Vlad potentially on the way out, the team needs to look toward its next wave.
