What’s the point of fantasy this season without Wyatt Langford? Damn you, baseball! We nearly lost Langford, Jackson Merrill, and Fernando Tatis Jr. in the same week. Luckily, Tatis Jr.’s injury was not long-term but we still took plenty of other hits. This past week has been a bloodbath but on the bright side, we […]

I hold a few blades a grass up, then toss them to test the wind. They just sorta fall to the ground and I’m not sure what that tells me. People in the stands are confused why I’m testing the wind to hit a baseball. I don’t know myself, to be honest. I step into […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Salutations everyone, and best wishes that the baseball injury gods are treating you relatively well. If your teams look anything like mine do, though, they are pretty banged up. I don’t like to feel like I’m giving up a few weeks into the season, but if you’ve lost a couple of your starters and two […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The early bird gets the worm, and nowhere else are there more worms to be had than the waiver wire of available relief pitchers in your league. Each year we watch the demise of established capital-C “Closers”, who cost fantasy managers a decent penny in draft price, as other fantasy managers scoop up their understudy […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Only Sacramentoens can make fun of our beautiful and wonderful city, and I hope for my bank rolls sake, the Big Apple shows up in a big way tonight. We are about a quarter to a third of the way to the point where a smart mathematician will start trusting some of the K/BB numbers […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?David Festa will start today for the Twins, and there’s rumors that Zebby Matthews will be called up this weekend to take part in a six-man rotation. Or as Lionel Richie would say, “We’re going to Party, Zebby, Festa, forever. Come on, and sing my song!” Lionel Richie is a big-time fantasy baseball guy, by […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I was driving on the 10 freeway in Los Angeles during rush hour the other day when I had another urge to cosplay Michael Douglas in Falling Down. Being the responsible citizen that I am, I cut off multiple cars to exit, ran a red light then made my way back onto the freeway from […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?As a way to offer readers some deeper knowledge about the fantasy-relevant players on MLB rosters, I’m going to be checking in from time to time with a full division’s worth of middle infielders. As a long-suffering Cubs fan, I couldn’t resist starting with the NL Central. If my assessment gets a bit bleak at […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Major League Baseball has now played two of its 26 weeks this season, which means we have minimal stats to evaluate players for our fantasy baseball squads. With Opening Day past us and the dog days of summer ahead, who have been some of the more interesting risers and fallers? In the aggregate, two weeks […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?In our 86th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open by talking about major extensions, crushing injuries, and a retirement from the latest MLB news. Then we overview how to evaluate hitters early in the season to determine whether significant changes have been made to their profiles along with a few hot or cold bats out the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Having a normal one: when I think about how I drafted Gunnar Henderson instead of Corbin Carroll pic.twitter.com/D5lH8sD9zi — Razzball (@Razzball) April 9, 2025 Yesterday, Corbin Carroll (2-for-4, 2 runs) hit his 5th homer. Meh, only five more homers than Gunnar, en bee dee. “No reason to panic,” he says while sobbing and plunging into […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?At the risk of overstating the reality, I’m happy to see the Zac Veen era is underway in Colorado. My bold predictions article says he’ll steal 40 bases this season, so that’s pretty much a lock at this point. Or perhaps he’ll be back in the minors a month from now. I’m betting against that, obviously. I think it’s more important for the organization to get Veen right than it is for them to, for example, get Jordan Beck right.
