Luis Matos walked so Heliot Ramos could run. Remember Luis Matos? He had 16 RBIs in five games then disappeared off the face of the Earth. Well, he actually went 2-for-22 first, THEN vanished. Anyway, Matos is old news as Heliot Ramos is making the headlines now in the Bay, he was three for five […]

Despite succumbing this week to an ankle injury sustained in his collision with William Contreras, Tommy Pham, patron saint of this piece, can not be escaped. Just when you thought there would be a reprieve, I hit you with him in the intro. But mostly because players like Tommy Pham keep our fantasy teams afloat […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The potato crops will be up soon. Should be sustenance for the next six months. We have someone down by the landing port who rattles off potato dishes like he’s Bubba from Forrest Gump. Potato casserole, crispy potatoes, Hasselback potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato pierogis…And on and on. He started in June and has been going […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I’m not gonna lie, deep league friends, there’s probably not a lot of hope out there in most of your free agent pools if you’re looking to stop the flow of a polluted stream of fantasy disappointment. My good friend-who-I’ve-never-met, Son (who knows quite a bit about unearthing possible fantasy gems!) recently thanked me for […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back for another edition of Analytics Anonymous. First of all, thanks to everyone who took part in our trivia challenge last time out. There were a number of great guesses and three of you picked the right player – Kyle Tucker. I’ll put your baseball knowledge to the test again later this season but […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Tonight’s 10 game slate starts at 7:05 EST and has tons of options that should spread out ownership and allow the wise DFS player to focus on making the best plays based on the stats that have the greatest chance of paying off in a first place finish. These are my favorite slates, but I […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Ric Flair, the wheelin’ dealin’, limo-ridin’, high profilin’, rootin’ tootin’, Jerry Tarkanian’ eyebrow havin’, organic candles sellin’ at a farmer’s marketin’, IBS got me avoidin’ spicy foods-in-Indian restaurantsin’, bad-mambo-jambo, better move his Woo over because there’s a new Woo in town, that’s Bryan Woo (6 IP, 0 ER, 2 hits, zero walks, 6 Ks, ERA […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The beauty of this world is that there are levels to everything. Let’s take a laugh for instance. There’s the laugh after hearing <insert favorite comedian> tell a joke. There’s the nervous laugh like when Tommy asks Henry in Goodfellas, “I’m funny how, I mean funny like I’m a clown, I amuse you?” There’s the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Having spoken (written) extensively on the topic of waiver wire articles, to the point that Baseball HQ published one of my articles in their annual fantasy baseball physical magazine last year on the subject, I have fallen off the wagon outside of Grey’s weekly missives. Granted I don’t do the Patreon thing, so I’m not quite on the razor’s edge of hot infotainment, but I used to absolutely guzzle those waiver articles down like young person doing poppers at a rave type gathering (I enjoy my vague understanding of youth culture drug usage, maybe one day I’ll even watch Euphoria — psyche, I’d rather fingernail my eyeballs to death).
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? Just when it looked like Luis Matos was going to have the chance to bat everyday and work through his struggles, the Giants got some veteran outfielders back from the IL and deemed it appropriate to send Matos back to AAA. Now I can’t deny that he’s been a rut at the plate with just 2 hits in his last 19 at bats and hasn’t had an extra base hit in what feels like a year. Combine that with a complete lack of walks and you get a guy who went hotter than the surface of the sun to absolute zero. I’m still a believer in his talent and hope that this is just a short stint in the minors to get right and then he’ll be back.
Please, blog, may I have some more?In our 47th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open with banter on the latest moves and news including Spencer Torkelson and Reid Detmers’ journeys to Triple-A. Please, blog, may I have some more?Cade Povich was called up to the O’s taxi squad — Reiger that! — because they were unsure if Bradish could go, and it turned out he couldn’t, so enter: Cade Povich off the taxi squad like Tony Danza, sung like Elton John. Povich was in the Itch’s last top 50 prospects update, barely sneaking […]
