Happy Almost Father’s Day to those Razzpals who celebrate! And to those who don’t, enjoy a nice weekend not celebrating dads. Speaking of dads, I went on a trip with mine last week and had no service for a week. So, I am sorry I did not respond to many comments in a timely fashion. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I don’t have enough spam, give me the Razzball email newsletter!

This was me seeing if Shane Baz was ready to be stashed: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…and so on as I counted the months since his surgery. Do you count September of 2022 because that was when he had the surgery or do you start counting with October? Do you count June of 2024 because […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s that time of year, friends: regardless of how much we love fantasy baseball, there’s a lot going on to distract us. Graduations, beach days, summer trips, fantasy football previews… and if you’re feeling like fantasy baseball hasn’t been loving you back lately, it’s especially easy to take the foot off the gas pedal when […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Ok, I took some creative liberty with the actual adage to fit the two headliners into the, uhh, headline. I appreciate Grey and Truss giving me the (very wide) leeway to use that headline to segue into an article thesis (I swear there is one). Ray Charles once sang “If It Wasn’t For Bad Luck” […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? When MLB gives you a great Friday slate, ya gotta get pumped up. There are 12 games this Friday night and I can help you get situated in the slate and give you some ideas of who/what teams to play. Keep reading. There are 4 pitchers above 8,500 who I would roster without question. As […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?“There is ample evidence that the public is getting a wee bit tired of all these ‘pitchers duels’,” wrote The Washington Post’s Bob Addie in late-1968. So after the season, MLB officials lowered the mound to 10 inches and shrank the strike zone to its modern size. Cool, after this year, let’s lower the mound […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s the time of the season wherein we look at our teams and some people see a magnificent juggernaut, while others see a mirage, a trojan horse of confidence hiding grisly innards of broken dreams and decaying hope.
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? One of this season’s breakout hitters, Masyn Winn seems to still be flying under the radar. He hasn’t really stood out in a singular area but he looks like a vastly improved hitter from what we saw last season. Batting average has been his strong suite and you can’t be mad at a guy hitting over .300. The secret sauce is there might be some untapped power waiting to be unleashed. I’m not suddenly expecting him drop 50 on us, but he did swat 18 in 445 at bats his last turn in AAA so the 3 he has this season feel a little low. Even if he turns into 20-25 home runs hitter and can keep his average close to .300 he suddenly becomes a much more interesting hitter. There’s quite a bit to like here even if the power doesn’t manifest this season
Please, blog, may I have some more? The 2024 Major League Baseball season is about 11 weeks old (over a third of the way done already!), which means we finally have meaningful numbers that count to start evaluating our fantasy squads. With only 27 weeks in the fantasy baseball season, even a few weeks of information should help guide us to decisions […]

Please, blog, may I have some more?Yesterday, Michael King went 5 IP, 2 ER, 6 baserunners, 12 Ks, ERA at 3.58. Oh my God, what an amazing impersonation of a 2012 starter. Let me guess…Gio Gonzalez! No? Okay, let me try again! Jeff Samardzija? I got it? Wow, that was good! So, King good? Which is different than Sofa King good, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? After coming over from San Diego as part of the return for Dylan Cease, White Sox RHP Drew Thorpe has posted a tremendous season for Double-A Birmingham and was rewarded for his efforts with a promotion straight past Triple-A and into the majors for Tuesday’s game. He threw five innings against Seattle and allowed one earned run. In 60 Double-A innings, Thorpe’s double-plus command and changeup helped him produce a 0.87 WHIP and 1.35 ERA along with 56 strikeouts and 17 walks.
