So maybe the first day of a full slate didn’t go your way; the beauty of DFS baseball is that it is a daily grind. Tuesday offers an 8 game slate with some very solid pitching options such as Johnny Cueto, Carlos Carrasco, Lance McCullers Jr. and Matt Shoemaker. One young arm that stands out and could provide options to build around, though, is Sean Manaea. Priced only at $14,800, Sean allows you to pay up for some top bats. Manaea was the top Pitching prospect in the Oakland A’s organization last year before getting called up at the end of April. His season was the tale of two halves as he had a rocky start to his career. Carrying a 5.24 ERA through his first 12 starts, he was able to turn it around in his final 12 starts and recorded a 2.67 ERA, finishing with a 3.86 ERA for the year. The promising prospect looks to improve and become the Ace for the A’s. He is squaring off vs. the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night, an offense that can be neutralized. They ranked towards the middle of the pack in most offensive categories last season. Oakland is a -110 favorite and the run line is set at 7.5, not a lot of offense is expected. With that, lets take a look at the rest of the picks.

Jake Arrieta, P: $20,100 – Jake has dominated the Cardinals the last couple years, should be no different when he makes his season debut Tuesday. Weather could be a problem for pitchers in this game as some rain is in the forecast, so that is a situation to check. Could swap for Maeda once we have more info on weather closer to game time.
Kenta Maeda, P: $18,400 – Dodgers are the biggest favorite of the night at -210. I feel like we might be saying this all year, “throw Pitchers vs. the Padres”. Maeda had good numbers vs. them last year and had a 9.17 K/9 for the season. Padres line up provides a good opportunity to rack up some strikeouts. Hopefully Roberts lets him pitch deeper into games this season.
Evan Longoria, IF: $7,600 – Coming off a career year where he hit 36 HRs, Longoria picked up right where he left off. Going 2-4 HR 3 Ribeye’s in first game of the year, he now faces CC Sabathia who he has owned throughout his career (.400 avg 7HRs 1.319 OPS)
Jose Altuve, IF: $8,700 – Best Hitter in baseball the last couple years. Always a threat to swipe some bags as well. Plug him in confidently.
Kris Bryant, IF: $9,300 – MVP, World Series Champ, ROY already on the resume. Went 0-4 3Ks on Sunday night. Look for him to get back on track towards another MVP season.
Franklin Gutierrez, OF: $6,000 – Mashes Lefties (.378 wOBA, 12 HRs in 186 ABs vs. LHP in 2016). Gets Clayton Richard on Tuesday night.
Charlie Blackmon, OF: $9,000 – Had a breakout season in 2016. Has a Power/Speed combo that can rack up points, especially in a game that should have a fair amount of runs. Look for Chuck Nasty to get it going in Milwaukee. Hit 25 of his 29 HRs in 2016 of RHP.
Kyle Schwarber, OF: $8,000 – Gets an aging Adam Wainwright on Tuesday. Has crushed RHP in his short career. (.406 wOBA, 14 HRs, .950 OPS in 183 ABs). Also bats lead off for one of the best offenses.
Anthony Rizzo, UTIL: $8,800 – Hit 50 points higher in AVG. vs. RHP in 2016, 24 of his 32 HRs came vs. RHP, and did I mention Cubs are going against Wainwright? Had a .404 wOBA last year vs Righties, that’s an elite number.
Kyle Seager, UTIL: $7,600 – Perhaps he gets overshadowed by his younger brother Corey Seager, but Kyle is quietly one of the better 3B in the MLB. Had .932 OPS, .390 wOBA last year vs. RHP.
I’m Only Happy When it Rains
STL/CHI game has a 30-40% chance of rain. It is a situation to monitor closer to game time. They had some rain on Sunday night but didn’t affect the game. The rest of the games look good to go.
Doing Lines in Vegas
