When I first glanced at today’s slate I went straight to the Red Sox to start cherry-picking. Then I checked the weather and with a 22 mph wind blowing in and a good chance of rain, tossed that plan out the window. Now it has been postponed. But before we go any further let’s talk about pitching options. Vladimir Gutierrez, $8700 going against the Marlins is my #1 choice. In his last 5 games, 31.7 innings with 28k’s and 1.99 ERA, 1.17 WHIP. Let’s get into the rest of the day’s plays.

Alec Mills, SP: $6900
A cheaper option, Mills won’t get a lot of K’s but in his last 5 games, a solid 3.24 ERA and 1.8BB/9, and the wind is blowing in 10mph
Vladimir Guerrero Jr, C/1B: $4400
We know Vlad can go off against any pitcher but today he teeing off against Hutchison, a 30-year-old journeyman who was blasted for six runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks in 1.2 innings his last time out!
Joey Votto, C/1B: $4100
Votto’s last 28 days have been a fun ride, 16HR 39 RBI with a .324 AVE, don’t get off just yet!
Brandon Lowe, 2B: $3900
In his last 105 AB’s 8HR 26RBI .305 AVE and K’s down to 21.7%
Jose Altuve, 2B: $3700
Altuve had been in an Aug slump but busted out yesterday going 4-5, 1 RBI and 3 runs
Austin Riley, 3B: $4100
Riley has hit safely in each of his past six games, going 12-for-26 (.462) with three homers and five RBI over that span.
Eduardo Escobar, 3B: $3400
Escobar has been in a recent funk but going against Sean Nolan today may just cure that
Willy Adames, SS: $3500
Adames has been steady with 6HR 12RBI and .277AVE in his last 101AB’s
Bo Bichette, SS: $3700
Bichette has been cold his last 7 games but we’re looking more to exploit Tiger pitching
Corey Dickerson, OF: $2600
Batting 5th today in a sweet spot against the Tigers, enough said!
Jake Meyers, OF: $2700
Meyers made his eighth straight start yesterday, as Kyle Tucker remains on the COVID-19 list, and he’s thrived. The 25-year-old is batting .345 (10-for-29) with three home runs, 10 RBI, and six runs scored during that eight-game run
Teoscar Hernandez, OF: $3900
Hernandez has been on fire, his last 105AB’s 9HR 32RBI and a .352 AVE
Tyler Naquin, OF: $3000
Batting leadoff today and his last 7 games, 2HR 4RBI, and a .480 AVE
